Wintium looked over at Sandresh.  The look on her face did not seem to be one of happiness.  "Don't worry," he comforted.  "We'll find that morphing girl and find her friends if she has any."
This didn't seem to calm her at all.

Trapped. Mentally. In himself. That was what had happened to Laurence. The slug had forced its way into his head. Now he couldn't move. Talk. Blink. Eat. Unless that..thing did it. The thing introduced itself as Wintium, an alien species called Yeerks. Laurence could 'talk' to the Yeerk, but han't done much of that yet.
<<Why have you done this to me?>> he asked.
<<It's for your own good.>>
Laurence snarled. <<Oh really? How?>>
<<Your daughter has in her possession alien technology,>> the alien said coldly. <<She can cause danger to the whole world.>>
<<Jo? My daughter?>>
<<Yes, it's true.>>
Laurence couldn't believe it. <<I don't believe you. You're lying.>> He retreated into his corner.

The guards eyes wwnt bug eyed and he jumped out of the way. The bear ran around until it ran into a cage. It fell unconscious.

The guard quickly got up, closed the door, and locked it. The other guard came around and asked: "There was a kid in here. He and one of the bears got away. We need back-up for the bear." He pointed at the bear who was several yards away.

((Um... why did the charging bear end up going in circles???))

Brian finished the morph to fly, but even his newly-formed insect body was exhausted. He just wanted to sit there.... but with his luck today, he'd get stepped on. Wearily he buzzed through the night air, making a zig-zagged path back to his car. It took what seemed like forever.... By the time he got in the car, the radio-clock said it was 12:25 AM. Great... he thought. He demorphed and drove home, about as alert and conscious as the truck driver from earlier that evening. Did the morphing affect the others like this, or was it just him? They hadn't had to morph so much so quick before, at least not as far as he knew....

He got to his street and parked his car at the end of the driveway. He'd move it early in the morning, if he even woke up while it was still morning. If it wasn't for the search tomorrow, I'd just sleep till dinner. Brian had always thought it was an exaggeration when people say they were asleep before they hit the bed. Yet that's exactly what he did...

               ------------------------------- (It is now Sunday)------------------------------------------------

"Brian? Are you not feeling well, son?" It was his mom, checking on him since he only ever slept till eleven when he was sick or something.

"No, I'm fine Mom." he said rubbing his eyes. "I just didn't sleep well, I guess..."[/color]
Sean woke up with his alarm at eight-thirty the next morning. He hoped his alarm hadn't woken everyone up. He figured a good thing of them all being together was that they could all talk still. And safely. Tarrade was already awake. "Hello Tarry..." he said.
<Hello, Sean. I hope your rest was peaceful.>
"Meh... I guess so. I'm not used to getting to sleep that late at night, though..."
<Ah. So that is why you do not awaken with the rising sun?>
"...Um. Yeah, actually. I usually wake up a lot earlier so that I can go to work." Sean began putting around in the kitchen, making more noise than he meant to be. He was a little surprised when he looked over the counter and saw that Chad was still there. "That means that you'll be here by yourself for most of tomorrow. Don't worry, I'll leave the window open."
<I would be grateful. What is your role in the workforce?>
"I'm an Architect... well, a Draftsman, really. Almost the same, but I like this work better."
<Human architecture is most interesting. There is such a variety of structures visible just from the window of this room. Tell me, what is the purpose of the bright yellow arches at night?>
Sean laughed, "That's just a sign, so that people know that there's a McDonald's there."
<I see.> Tarry said. After a moment or so he continued. <Andalite architecture is not nearly as diverse as this one town's is. Though it certainly is well more advanced.> "Squack!!!!" <I very nearly decided to pursue the Sciences as my career....>
Before they could continue, someone woke up.

It was quiet.  No cows mooing during milking or chickens clucking.  Jo laid there for some time just listening.  She hoped that she didn't have fight her family today.  After hearing other voices she got up letting Olivia sleep and put on a kettle so she could make her morning tea. She began to look around for Mr. Blacks tea.

"Mornin' Jo," Sean said. After he saw what she was looking for, he reached in the back of the pantry and pulled out a box of ((insert fruit-flavored tea here)) and offered it to her. "I think this is the best I've got..." he says with a shrug.

"American tea?" Jo said downhearted.  "Think I'll go shopping."  She had to have her tea in the morning.  She looked in the mirror and remembered that odd look that Olivia had when she stopped mid-morph back at the customs office.  She concentrated on only her hair till it was lightened to a dark brown.  "This could be useful."

"Well, um... I don't think that you should be..." Sean trailed off as he turned to look at Jo. Her hair was definitely a different color. "Are... are you doing that on purpose?" he asked.

In response to Jo's comment, Tarry said, <How interesting. You have halted the morphing process with a seemingly desirable effect. It is most difficult for most to influence the order of changes, except for a rare few who are highly skilled at morphing. On my Homeworld, there are those who perform dances with the morphing ability. It is quite impressive to watch.> Tarry doubted she was an Estreen, however. He'd seen her morph at the zoo, and it hadn't been particularly graceful.

Brian realized he wasn't exactly sure when to meet for the 'search' for Jo. He remembered it being in the afternoon, but he couldn't remember what time Merlin had said. He really needed to talk to the others. He ate quickly, and left, telling his mom that he was going to go get school supplies. He headed for Chad's dad's apartment. Brian had been there once or twice before, so he knew the way.

A dreamless night. Thank goodness. Chad woke up, confused where he was for a few minutes. "Oh crap," he said, suddenly remembering that his bike was back at the park. And then, what would Mom say? He'd been gone all night. Chad groaned and went downstairs. Sean and Jo were there. Tarry was talking--a lot. And Jo looked funny. "What happened to you?"

"I've half morphed Olivia's hair," said Jo.  "I wonder how much I can mix this up."

Jazar wanted this day to go perfectly.  There was no margin for error.  He even helped Wintium with the morning milking.

"So, she can stay partly morphed like that?" Sean asked incredulously.

<Yes. The morphing process requires concentration until completion. Although it is unlikely one would be able to bring about the same alterations, it is quite simple to mix - > Tarry stopped and flapped his wings. <I believe I have a suggestion you may appreciate: The Frolis Maneuver.>

Tarry continued, <The Frolis Maneuver is a technique for combining the DNA of animals or other acquired creatures to create a "blended average" of them. Essentially, it creates a new morph from the two samples of DNA that is similar to both. It only works with animals of the same or very, very similar species. But this should not be a problem with humans.> He said. "SQUACKKK!"

"Two DNA samples?" Jo asked.  "Couldn't be more?  So I can get even further away from what I look like."

<You can combine several DNA patterns, but I would recommend only using a few. The effects of blending multiple samples is untested past five or so. And allow me to specify: Your own DNA cannot be used in this process.> Tarry was filled with remorse over losing his own form, and here was Jo, practically jumping at the opportunity to toss away hers. No, he didn't suspect her to be considering to nothlit herself intentionally, but still....

"That would definitely be handy..." Sean says. "I guess you'd end up getting to go shopping after all. You just need to, uh, acquire a couple of strangers."
