I could have sworn that there had been 2221 replies before I posted that message, making mine #2222.  How did it become reply #2221?

Answer: they clearly state that morphing is more of a stealth-related technology. Andalites are great for fighting anyway; few morphs would be more useful than their true selves.

Visser 3 has lots of morphs that are more combat capable then the Andalite form!

Shouldn't all Andalite warriors acquire small morphs for the purposes of escaping and hiding?

Also I feel morphing is going to have different appeal to a yeerk, which is inherently in a weak body. Esplin really did love the Andalite form, but probably had some satisfaction in taking on a variety of new forms in a way a human or andalite might not
