I was reading the entry for silicon based lifeforms at TV tropes. It mentions that the Venber in Animorphs may be made of ammonia, because it's speculated that ammonia based lifeforms could exist on extremely cold planets.

Eh, maybe, but unlikely if you ask me. They had to reach a temperature above the freezing point of water to melt, right? Ammonia boils around 28 below zero Fahrenheit, so the Venber would probably have to exist in temperatures well below that. Getting that kind of temperature consistently is a stretch, even in the arctic, and if it was that cold, the Animorphs wouldn't have been anywhere near as well off in their morphing outfits, even for the short periods of time that they were in them. That, alone, leads me to believe that any liquid on which their form is based would probably have to have a boiling point over the melting point of water. It sounds as though at least part of their structure would have to be based on water ice, though.

Tvtropes is often not a good source to get an encyclopedic report on what's really in the story, or anything impartial if the work has any kind of fan(boys/girls), and that's not even mentioning their reading sex (especially homosexuality) into everything.
Not caring about what's popular since 2006.

This is true. I just wanted to throw it out there.

on the thought of the reprints, they mentioned they have someone combing for outdated references,
I really hope someone's gonna clean up the KASU's this time- pick a rule for thought speak and stick with it

I'm also interested in what degree of editing will be done on the reprints, and how much changing is going to be involved to clear up KASUs or if they will be preserved. What thought-speak rule contradictions are you referring to?

well there is the later switching between being incapable or capable of using it in human morph, notably in Ax, but I'm thinking specifically since we know they're doing book 1 Jake being able to send thoughts to someone in morph even when not morphed himself. Want that gone

OK, fair enough. I'm not so interested in the way that they treat the obvious stuff like ret-conned canon (the things that functioned one way, but then were later decided to function another way), but more in how closely they examine and change the material that simply doesn't make sense within its own accepted canon and needs tweaking to actually function. Thought-speak has examples of both types of KASU, yours being more the type that were originally one way then ret-conned later (although I don't thing that there was ever an instance of being explicitly incapable of using  thought-speech in human morph, it was simply never done for a while, then when it was done they behaved as if it had always been possible, which it logically should have; on the other hand, your primary example of being able to send thought-messages to someone in morph, then later ret-conning it out is the best and most obvious example of that type of KASU).
If your attack is going well, you have walked into an ambush.
