Karma changes
« on: December 04, 2009, 01:41:07 PM »
I'm not certain this is the correct placement of this question.

Is there a section that shows the administrative changes to our Karma? (i.e. Topic creating Karma, Donation Karma, Ranking Karma etc.)

I was looking at those that changed my Karma and noticed that it doesn't note whenever I get administratively distributed Karma. I wanted to do a little book keeping with my Karma, and found that info missing.

Is that info stored somewhere?

There isn't a way to see when myself or anyone who has the ability to manipulate karma: unless we state it in the Karma log.

For you Parker, I can add the +50 to the karma description if you like. For the bookkeeping.

Oh and karma added by topic creation, isn't reflected in the karma log.

Cool, Thanks. It also helps when my memory fluctuates and I've forgotten that I started a topic, and then I see my karma went up a notch. I think, <Oh, who applauded me?> And the log shows no change. Then I have a *headsmack* moment. ;D

you mean you can actually keep track of when your karma goes up or not? I never even notice it goes up, and the only reason I know it does is because I get a notification when I'm applauded...

All I do is look left and see whether my Karma's gone up. Then I go to my profile and click on "Who changed my Karma".

I look left sometimes too. I just don't remember what my karma count was before to compare...

Yeah that used to happen to me too, and I eventually finally messaged Rich about it and he reminded me that when you start a new thread you receive +1. Then I too had a headsmack moment :P
"I always considered myself a loner. I mean, not like a poor-me, Byron-esque, I-should-have-broughta-swimming-buddy loner. I mean the sort of person who doesn’t feel too upset about the prospect of a weekend spent seeing no one, and reading good books on the couch. It wasn’t like I was a people hater or anything. I enjoyed activities and the company of friends. But they were a side dish. I always thought I would also be happy without them."

Rich...another question about Karma changes...is there anyway to allow us a little more space for our explanation of why we're giving Karma/Smiting someone? I often can't even fit in a whole sentence. :)

This actually answered a few questions I had thanks luckily I found this thread.

But I do wonder if there is a way to make the Karme description longer like someone else added on here

I have to say. I love the new Karma system. The 24 points a day thing is awesome. I'm so glad the time limit on giving the same person Karma is gone. 'Cause sometimes I'll read numerous epic postings and want to applaud them for each post. Sometimes within half an hour of each one. So this new system is really cool.

I've noticed that after creating a new topic, I didn't get any more Karma for it. Has that contingency been rescinded?
