Jake smiled, "Great, I'll get dressed. I left a message for Dad at his work, so he knows about dinner." As he ran upstairs, he heard the garage door open. Thank God, Dad's finally home. Instead of running back downstairs, he hoped his mom would update his dad while he got dressed.
Rachel thanked her mom again as she kicked them out of the bathroom. After her shower, she stared at the clothes in her closet. She wanted to look presentable, but she had to ride her bike. She picked up the phone and called Jake's house. If Jake got his parents to go, like she figured would be his plan, maybe they could give her a ride, and she could wear something nicer.
Shawn looked in Raksha's eyes and replied, "Beautiful." He knocked on the door fairly hard. The pure wood door forced the knocker to use more effort as the wood dulled the sound. Inside the house, sounds could be heard like a TV or radio was playing. After the third knock, the sounds fell silent. Shawn knocked a fourth time, and a metallic latch catching sounds through the door. Shawn nods and mentions to Raksha half-jokingly, "He was on the recliner, he probably fell asleep."
The door opens and Shawn's father see's his son, "SeanJohn! How's my favorite name brand son, huh?" He gives his son a big, loving hug as though they hadn't seen each other in years, though it had only been hours. Shawn laughs half-heartedly as he returns the hug. Shawn's father knew the joke had run its course, but Shawn loved hearing his old jokes, so he was happy to oblige... and they were still kinda funny. As he hugged his son, he noticed the young, but older girl standing at his door step. His eyebrows raise as he breaks the hug and asks, "Now who might this be?"
Shawn gestured as he spoke, "Dad, this is Raksha. Raksha, this is my father, Z-."
Shawn's father jammed out his hand and introduced himself before Shawn finished his sentence, "Zander, Zander Townes, nice to meet you."
Ax looked dejected at Tobias's refusal to acknowledge his invitation. He looked to Marco and shook his head, "I do not know. Even though he has rejoined us, he still seems distant." Ax made sure they were well into the cover of trees until he started to morph.
((Ax has a Northern Harrier, doesn't he?))
