Shawn hears the caw and drops his head. "A raven? How is there a raven in a wildlife park? He reads the title on the door. "California clade? There are different types of raven? I thought they all were the same."

"Not at all." She walked over to the cage and looked at the Blue black bird. "Oh, goodness, we tried to get one like this for the zoo I wokred at before my 'furry' incident. These are rare Ravens." she smiled.

(( Well, the "caw"ing was a dead give-away. As far as the CA clade, GIYF I like to do research before I post anything.))

"Huh. Okay now get the bird in your hands. You have to make skin-to-uh... 'skin' contact for the acquisition to work. Well, feathers work too, but what I mean is, 'you can't acquire an animal with gloves on.' Now with it in your hands, picture the raven in your mind. See it clearly, every detail. Then the animal should go into a trance, and you should feel a sort of 'strange' sensation at the point of contact."

She reached into the cage slowly to touch to bird, when it's beak flew out and caught her finger. She pulled back with a yelp of surprise. She checked and sure enough her finger was bleeding. "Wow." she said. She placed her finger in her mouth to stop the bleeding and tried again, this time, she was able to get the bird. She did was Shawn said and soon she started to feel weird, like when she was trying to help the tiger in the zoo, before she became furry.

Shawn felt a stir when he observed Raksha cleaned her finger of the blood. He cleared his throat to break his own concentration. He saw the raven settle into its trance, just like every animal does when it's acquired.

"Congratulations, you are now the proud owner of the California clade raven DNA." Shawn heard distant footsteps through the door. "No! Nononono. We don't have time for this. Okay," he spreads his fingers and holds his hands horizontally in front of himself as though he were warming his hands over a stove, "The guards checking the rooms. You have to morph, now. Just be careful, 'cause I have to morph too, and my hawk mixed with your newly acquired raven, probably won't mix. You'll have a hard time controlling the raven if it knows I'm here. So... uh, welcome to the Instinct Rodeo, let's go."

Shawn quickly morphs into his Cooper's Hawk and flys to the closest corner trying to get as much distance as he can between the three of them.

She gave him a shocked look. She concentrated like with her tigress only with the Raven. She morphed quickly, but she felt odd. She ruffled her feathers a bit and hopped over to another table. <Eesh......Birds feel akward.> she said.

<Okay, you got a couple of moments before the animal instinct comes to light. When it senses me, it's gonna make you freak out. You just have to try and battle through it. Try to remember who you are. Fight the animal's intinct, when the guard opens the door, fly out and let's get the hell outta here.>

<Okay...> she said, as soon as she said it, she felt the instincts hammerinag at her. Her Raven let out a hard caw, and she tried to shut it up, but some of it escaped. She began to hop around finicky, and waiting for the door to open.

<Whoa! Whoa! Raksha, fight it, repeat your name, remember who you are, think about any family, friends, loved ones. Remember you're human, remembe-> Just then the door opened and the guard saw the birds.

"Gah! What the hell?"

Shawn directs his thought-speak just to Raksha, making sure the guard didn't hear him, <<Oh, screw it, just get outta here!>

Shawn flew straight at the guard with his wings flared out and shouted with a TSSEEERRRR! The guard protected his face and ducked down. <NOW! Let's go!>

Raksha tried to conentrate. She listened hard and soon she found herself flying out the door behind Shawn. She didn't even remember thinking taking off, she just knew she had to follow Shawn.

The guard shot his tranq gun in the air hoping to stop the crazy hawk from tearing his eyes out, but soon found that the room was empty and he was cringing for nothing. When he stood up, he felt a weird sensation on his foot. He looked down to see that one of his darts ricocheted off of the ceiling, and struck his foot. Moments later, he was out cold.

Shawn was flapping like mad due to there being no thermals in the cold hallways. When he heard the thud of the guard passing out, he swooped to the floor and yelled after Raksha to stop as well. <Raksha! I think the guard is unconscious!> When Raksha didn't answer, he repeated, <Raksha, get a hold of your morph! Remember you are a human. You are Raksha. Come back to me babe.>

She heard it....it was distant but she heard him, calling her name. She felt like she was in water, and she struggled to get to the top. Think! .....about what?...Think about Shawn! she told herself. She found herself becoming clearer and she found she had some control again. She made the Raven land a bit aways from Shawn, to make sure she had control. <Sh-shawn?>

<There you are. I thought I lost you for a second. I'm sure the guard is down. Let's demorph and check him out. Maybe we can pick up some other morphs for you. Unless you want to just move on.>

Rachel dropped a little lower, putting a bit more distance between herself, Jake, and Tobias.  There was the whole bird-watcher problem again.  She glanced around.  <There!  There's the King's house.  Elayne is just kinda staring at Marco and Jamal, I think.>  She said.

((Nothing has really  gone on with Elayne-Jamal-Marco group, so....yeah.))

"I believe those might be more of your friends," Elayne murmured, spotting three birds of prey flying relatively far away from each other. Most likely, no one would have thought anything of them, but she had been on the lookout for their small forms high above.

Marco, who was still inside the house, moved to he window. Lifting the blinds, he peered up at the sky. "Yeah, that's Jake, Tobias, and Rachel, I think." He unlocked the window and shoved it open, then stepped back so they could enter that way, if they wished. "Now we just need to get Ax and Shawn and that tiger chick here. And where the heck is Cassie?" he grumbled.
