"Haha, I don't mean any human war. I mean the alien war." Shawn watched as Raksha got more comfortable and thought, Why am I standing here like an idiot? He walked to Raksha's side, and spun around as he sat down next to her, matching her posture. He looked into her eyes and continued, "I mean the war that's been going on for the last 30 years, light years away from our little blue marble." Shawn looks off into the sky, but his gaze penetrates further, "The war that's spanned across galaxies, consumed so many races. One taking what it wants and another trying to contain them; and a number of races being forced into slavery in the process. Epic battles being fought on landscapes beyond our imagination." Shawn reconnects with Raksha's eyes and says, "I mean that war."

"Wow, talk about being apart of something and being last to know..." she said as followed his gaze upwards and then back to his. She gave a smile.

Marco labored to reach a reasonable altitude, following Tobias. Once the barn was in view, Marco told him, <I think Jake knows something's up. I tried not to give him any hints, but he knows me too well. I'll keep your cover, though, as long as I can.>

Tobias nodded.<Thanks but...its ok..I'll probley just show myself back at the barn,even if they know or not.>he says and looks at Cassie's barn.

Shawn never breaks contact with Raksha's eyes, "Last to know, no. On the contrary. Except those already taken prisoner, you're only the seventh human to ever know about this war. See, the Yeerks are invading our planet slowly, infiltrating our society by taking over people's lives and impersonating them. We're the only free humans that know about it, and we risk our lives trying to stop it any way we can."

Jake rolls his eyes and says, "Hey, I'm going to go back and get our clothes." Jake runs off back the way they came to retrieve their backpacks.

Marco smiled internally. <That's good. Everyone'll be relieved, man. Especially Rachel.> If osprey beaks could form expressions, he would have been grinning. After a moment, however, his mirth faded as he thought back to Jake, Shawn, and the morph-capable girl. Where did she come from? Could she possibly be a Yeerk? No, no. If the Yeerks had access to a blue box, we'd have a lot more nine-headed monsters from hell chasing us than just our favorite Visser. But why were Jake and Shawn so quick to trust her?

"Well, seeing as I apparently have something important, and I know who the good guys are," she said with a smile. "I'm in." She leaned up and stretched, causing her waist to show under the baby doll T-shirt she wore.

Tobias nodded softly and smiled softly in his own mind.<Say...how..has been Rachel?>he says curiously as he still really cared alot about Rachel.

Tobias's words drew him back to his earlier thoughts and he smirked internally. <She's her usual gung-ho self. But she's always talking about you. I think, even if everyone else gave up on the hope of finding you, she never would have.>

Tobias's smile grew inside his head at hearing this.<Really?>he says and flew into the barn.

<Heck yeah. My theory? She likes you, bird-boy,> Marco grinned internally as he settled on a rafter beside Tobias. <Now... where is she?>

((I think I'll hop in this, if that's okay!  For the sake of having more Animorphs controlled, I'll be Rachel, I don't want to get into all of Cassie's sentiments, Jake and Marco are "taken," and I don't feel like being Ax.

BTW, was Rachel called to the barn?  If not, I'll edit it, or whatever, it seems like it from Marie's post above.))

At that precise moment, Rachel was opening her window to fly to Cassie's barn, muttering under her breath about her sisters, who had held her up.  A light breeze was blowing, and the sun was shining.  A beautiful day to fly.

The first thing to come this time for the morph was the feathers.  Then, she became the bald eagle, one of her favorite morphs.  Launching herself out of her window, Rachel caught a thermal and began the flight.

A few minutes later, she ducked through the barn door, the window being a little too small for her wingspan.  Banking towards a hay bale, Rachel "said" in thought-speak, <Hey guys, sorry I'm late, I got held up by my sis->

Rachel then nearly tumbled out of the sky.  She had spotted the red-tailed in the rafters.  Staring up at it in shock, she said <No...what...Tobias?!?!>

Hardly daring to breath, she spluttered <What...is...is it really you?  When...you, you vanished...You're back...you're back!>

Jamal walked up to his classmate's front porch and lightly tapped on the door. No answer. He rang the door bell. Still no answer. When he was about to knock on the door again he noticed a sticky note on the doorknob.

 - Cassie,

    I'll be at the Veterinarian's convention in San Diego today and wont be home till about 12 and your Mother has to work overtime today at the Gardens. There's some leftovers from last night in the fridge and I've just bought a jug of Hawaiian Punch. Save some for your mother, you know how she loves her Hawaiian Punch Do I even need to remind you about the last time you drank all of it before she had any? Those goats still give her dirty looks when she walks into the barn.

"Welp, since nobody's obviously home." Jamal said to himself "I guess I'll just give it back to her at school tomorrow"

Just when he was about to turn around and go home, he heard voices coming from the barn in Cassie's backyard. Maybe she's in there.

He slowly opened the barn door, but instead of finding Cassie, he saw another Classmate, Marco, and some girl in spandex hugging an eagle or owl something, he's never been good with naming birds.

"Um.....sorry to interrupt...whateve r this is."

By this point, both Marco and the girl were looking at him like he'd just walked in with a gun

"Is Cassie home? I had something to give to her"

Jamal reached in his book bag and pulled out blue box that he thought belonged to Cassie after overhearing her talking to Marco about it at school. Little did he know, this random act of kindness would result in him being plunged into an intergalactic war between a handful of kids and evil parasitic aliens.
