Oh, man, I am so glad there's still a community of Animorphs geeks out there. I had all but forgotten this series and how powerful it actually was. I bought every single book as they came out, in spite of the fact that I felt I was starting to outgrow them towards the end, and that I hated some of the books (Alternamorphs). I've started rereading the ebooks now (I still have all the real books at home, but ebooks are just easier at work
). I'm amazed at how much more I'm getting out of the books now than I did back in the day, but I'm also remembering so much. Seriously, no other series has ever had the kind of hold on me that Animorphs used to. I could never get enough. I'm starting to feel that again. I think RAF is my new best friend.
Anyway, I'm rambling. I was watching a movie last night after reading through this thread (yes, all of it) and for some weird raisin my brain came up with this scenario:
*the Animorphs are in the barn, ready for a meeting. They are waiting for Marco to arrive*
Tobias: <Where's Marco at anyway?>
Rachel: *bitterly* "I heard he got a girlfriend. They're probably making out or something. It's not like I care that he found someone he was more attracted to than he is to me..."
*Everyone stares at her. Rachel just shrugs*
*Marco walks in, followed by Neville Flynn (that's Samuel L. Jackson's character in Snakes on a Plane)*
Marco: "And this is the barn. This is where we meet to talk about all our suicidal plans against the Yeerks."
Jake: "Marco... what... who is this?"
Marco: "Oh, hey guys. This is Agent Flynn. I know we have a strict security policy and all, and I know anyone could be a controller, but man, you should hear some of the things this guy says."
Ax: <'sup>
*Cassie raises an eyebrow at Ax*
Ax: <What? We cool> *high fives Agent Flynn*
Neville: "Do as I say, and you live"
Jake: "Whoa, whoa. No, dude. This is my team. I'm in charge. We do as I say around here, got that?"
Marco: *laughing* "See? This guy says the darndest things!"
Ax: *shaking Agent Flynn's hand* <Welcome to my 'hood, Prince Agent Flynn>
*Rachel has backed into another room of the barn*
Tobias: *mockingly* <Where you going, Rach? Scared of black people?>
*Rachel glares at him, then nods sheepishly and backs farther into the shadows. Cassie stares after her*
Cassie: "Rachel? Tobias? Umm..."
Neville: "Enough is enough! I have had it with these mother****ing Yeerks on this mother****ing planet!"
*Marco cracks up*
Cassie: "At least we agree on the things that matter. Let's burn some slugs!"
Tobias: <Yes! I'm so glad you and I are on the same page, Cassie!>
*Tobias, Cassie, Ax and Marco crowd around Agent Flynn asking questions and talking excitedly*
Jake: "Guys! Guys? Someone? Hello? I'm still here! Mission to plan and all. Guys? Hey, Ax! Ax, call me prince. Please?" *leaves the barn sadly as the rest of the Animorphs ignore him*
