The Starfish morph

So.. if the other Animorphs and Ax morph starfishes then get themselves cut into two... then regenerate... then demorph... do you thin kthey would also have split personalities?  ;D

Ohh... Evil Marco sounds just like David...

yep. Jake and Ax would definetly have split personalities.

cassie and tobias would too, most likely, although it's kinda hard for me to imagine what they'd be like.

I think I can see it.

Jake would have his intense leader persona and a cowardly one, crushed by the pressure, who won't make life-or-death decisions.
Marco would have the cold, calculating tactician and the little boy who misses his mommy.
Cassie would have the killer and the saint.
Tobias would have the fierce, predatorial bird and the lonely, bullied boy.
Ax would have the compassionate human side and the arrogant, xenophobic Andalite.

Kind of obvious when you think about it, actually.

I think one of the split Tobias' might be gay. Or just seem gay (speech, body language). Or possibly emo.

I really liked this book..it was interesting to see Rachel's two sides!
"I always considered myself a loner. I mean, not like a poor-me, Byron-esque, I-should-have-broughta-swimming-buddy loner. I mean the sort of person who doesn’t feel too upset about the prospect of a weekend spent seeing no one, and reading good books on the couch. It wasn’t like I was a people hater or anything. I enjoyed activities and the company of friends. But they were a side dish. I always thought I would also be happy without them."

Souleater's on the right track, but I see it kinda differently
Jake is a natural leader, but he fights for those he loves, so you'd end up with one Jake who cares but really can't do anything, and one who can do anything but doesn't care.
Tobias already is split: human and hawk. We'd probably end up with one that has his human mind and the other with his hawk mind. What would make for an interesting situation (in my opinion) would be if the hawk mind ended up with the human emotions.
Cassie's would be the most subtle split. Cassie has strong morals, and is protective of what she cares about. These two qualities combined give her the motivation to fight. So we could end up with a moralistic Cassie and a protective Cassie, neither of whom wish to fight and neither of whom would want to be put back with the other for fear of becoming the killer again.
Marco is both the humour and the logistics of the group, so this would be the most obvious split. What could make for another interesting situation is if the logical Marco ended up with all his caring. Then we would have one Marco who would always be making jokes with no regard for anyone or anything, and one who could make perfect plans but would never be able to carry them out.
Ax is a follower, but proud; this is where the split may occur. We would have one Ax who had no time for the rest of the team, purely focused on his own agenda, and one who couldn't do anything without the approval of others.
There is, of course, no real logic behind my reasoning: we're working with a concept based around a random event. However, from the perspective of these being fictional characters, and incorporating the main idea from the book (that both halves are useless, you need the whole), I think these are the best choices.

Well, I actually want to see how Visser Three becomes when he gets halved in starfish morph. Not that he'd want to go in the puny, non threatening starfish morph.  :P

I wonder if the yeerk in the head would split as well as the host? That would make one crazy set of visser's and the more evil of the two would certainly not be peaceful

I bet the other Yeerk would be a brutal war genius while the other was a mindless nincompoop.
Or a brutal nincompoop, oh wait... Visser Three already is a brutal nincompoop....  :)

I think Matt pretty much has it.

There's a method to my madness, I just haven't figured it out yet.

Definitely some interesting theories, and I would probably agree with a lot of them. But of course KA had to stick with Rachel being split, because Rachel has always been the one described as the supermodel merged with a warrior queen. Split Rachel in two and you get a wussy airhead and a psycho killer. Almost poetic really, very Yin and Yang type of thing. Which is why it had to be Rachel. I can't really see it working as well with any of the others.

Maybe with Marco. one side is a col killer, and the other is a total goofball.
