The Anomly Chronciles (Revamped)
« on: March 25, 2009, 01:13:53 PM »
(I was thinking, and reading some stuff and I realized that we need more fics focusing on the dynamics of the Animorphs, and not just all the crazy things that happen. Also, have you guys read Green Lantern before? Because imagine a yeerk with the power of the green lantern, scary isn't it?

Anyways, this story was writen some time ago on the old forum. I couldn't find it before but now I think I can pick it up again. It's the same story but more fleshed out. I'm a better writer now and I've reread the series. Most of it anyways. Right now, I'm going to post one chapter and see how it goes. I might do a series of one shots, exloring each avenue. Or I can stick to one plot.

If anyone could find the old chapters, I would appreicate it.)

Summary: Cassie is subtemporably grounded. She sees things no one else sees, hears things that are only whispers in the wind. Sometimes, Aldrea can find it as well.

Prologue:

It was anothe rmission to the pool that went wrong. It was supposed to be simple, a snatch and grab as Marco said. But it wasn't.

We snuck in first, using one of the older entrances. Not that many controllers used it but it was one they thought was 'secure' because the Andalite bandits never used it. It was part of a bigger plan, pretending not to notice an entrance only to use it later as a moment of surprise.

This time, we did in an unique way. The Biofilters were always a problem so we went around it. Instead of becoming moles or bats, or trying to go through the sewer system we became yeerks. It was hard to convince the others to even try the morph. But after some persistance it worked. Rachel was quite easy, and I am a bit manipulative. Where Rachel went, Tobias followed. Marco was harder as was Aximili. Aximili never quite forgive me for putting Aftran in his brain. If I was wrong, Aximili would've been a slave and it would've been all my fault. In order to get those two to go along with the plan, I talked to Jake. I convinced him that no one would ever think of doing it in this manner. I reasoned that yeerks would never think the andalites would ever morph their enemy. You see, Andalites hate yeerks and vice versa.

After the second day we had no other choice. We had to use my plan. Once Jake gives it the go ahead, Marco and Ax will do it as well.

You see, this is all my fault. Because in this plan I was the leader. I had the great idea.

It wasn't all my idea, it came to me in a dream. It felt like a driving force and I felt compulsed to do it.

We went down into the pool, each of us yeerks and each of us in a member of the Underground Yeerk Resistance. We coordinated it with them, dropping into the pool in yeerks forms. We were quiet, partialy unnerved of what we have become. Yeerks are blind and deaf in their natural form, no arms or legs. It would be  horrible fate to be born this way as a human but as a yeerk it is natural. In a way, I understood what a gift being human it was. A small part of me hoped the others understood as well.

There was a small commotion, a small disagreement arranged between some voluntary hosts. During the confusion, we slipped out of the pool and into our regular shapes.

I didn't like this part of the plan, what if they got hurt?

Morphing back into our natural forms was risky. We would stand out, four kids in skin tight clothes, a bird and an andalite. This was also a risky part of the plan. Again we morphed, hork bajir this time. We aquired specific hork bajir morphs, ones with huge muscles and sythes for blades. We were becoming the blue band group.

No one stood in our way as we marched in.

Now, I bet you're wondering why I'm saying I'm at fault? It seems to be a fool proof plan right?

Wrong.

What we didn't count on was Visser 3 arriving. On us being announced out. We did create some confusion as the fight started. Most of us got away.

My name is Cassie and I am a few minutes from infestation.

(thanks Anidragon!)

Chapter 1

My name is Cassie and I am an animorph.

But I think in a few minutes I'm going to become a very dead animorph or a controller. Personally I wouldn't want to be either  but at that very moment I don't think I have a choice.

I got myself into this mess. And I'm going to get myself out of it.

The problem would be how.

Because of Visser 3's presence, there were twice as many Hork Bajir. The Hork Bajir are very nice creatures and gentle. I know they are because I've met them. They didn't deserve this fate of being slaves, of being made into soldiers of war.

I struggle, trying to move. But it was no use. They tied me up, placed braces over my blades. I was being dragged to the pool. Visser 3 had wised up, decided to bypass his gloating and instead immediately infest me. I suppose that was a sign that we are causing him trouble. We were no longer small obstacles to his attempted dominion over the humans.

The pool was getting nearer and nearer. What were the chances of being infested by one of the Underground Movement Yeerks? Highly unlikely. I can feel their gaze boring into me. They knew that if I were infested, not only would my friends be revealed they would be as well.

Demorph

I shifted, eyes narrowed. What was that?

<Ax? Rachel?>

I cry out in private thought speak. They did hang back?

Demorph

But I can't demorph I thought, knowing that my human form would do no better. I could run maybe but get shot and then infested. I can't let the Visser know I'm human. I can't.

DEMORPH

<NO!>

<You have no choice.> The Visser's thought speak was booming and filled with glee.

I was now just inches away from getting my head dunked in the pool.

<Demorph!> The voice inside my head was screaming just as loud and as I watched, I saw myself demorph.

<NO!!!>  But my body continued to shrink. What was happening? The only time this ever happened was.....<Aldrea?>

The voice in my head paused. <Yes> She sounded sheepish, her authority waning at her sudden reveal.

<What are you doing?> My own voice was rather light, almost disbelieving.

Aldrea continued to force her will over the morphing. <Getting us out of here.> She seemed to know something I did not.

I opened my mouth, well my mental mouth to order her to stop demorphing but then I saw the strange pink color that was appearing. Instead of my own dark skin, there was a pinkish fur appearing.

A tail appeared, small with a tiny blade. Definitely not mine. <YES!> Aldrea sounded gleeful and she swiped her blade, errr...my blade, at the horkbajir, whacking his dracon beam away. The binds around her body slackened, and she wiggled out.

But there were still ten more other horkbajir there and they were too big. We were still outmatched and outgunned.

We finished demorphing and now my body was that of a female andalite. I could feel the wall between us but it was full of holes. I could feel Aldrea's elation. She was triumphant.

I however was full of questions and wondering, why and how this happened.

One thing came out of this, so far, now Visser 3 had proof we were andalites. So far.

(thank you army blue! and Anidragon)

My body moved onto all four hooves, eye stalks looking around at the circle of hork bajir. I let Aldrea take control. I could feel the andalite mind, could feel the intelligence and the peace behind it but I could also feel Aldrea. It was like morphing Rachel, having her instincts in there. Rachel's mind almost made me do very stupid things. I was afraid of what Aldrea's very strong mind would do to me.

The crowd of controllers parted for Visser 3 to appear, the big male andalite controller was a clear threat. Aldrea didn't back down, her fear hidden behind her courage, my courage as well. The human me was fearful, the andalite me.....it and Aldrea stepped down on her hooves.

<Visser> She spat, reaching through my mind. She never met the Visser but she knew him as Alloran. She knew his secret, knew what he had done. Aldrea's hate was a mix of the yeerk who invaded the hork bajir home world and the andalite who decimated the species.

<Well...well...well> Visser 3 could only smirk, his eyes revealing much emotion. He was good at that, he didn't need a mouth to show how pleased he was. <An andalite...a female one>

Aldrea clenched our hands, the multi digited fingers were weak but clenching them brought some measure of courage that was much needed.

<What are we going to do?> I wonder to Aldrea, half confused in what occurred and relieved that I haven't outed out secret.

<I don't know> I felt my heart...hearts sink to our hooves. Great, now there is two of us who didn't know what to do.

If Marco was here, he would no doubt crack a joke about two heads being better than one.

<Well, speak female.> Visser 3 was gloating. <What a strange group you are, one who is a Aristh...another who is female.> He chuckled. <A wonder you all haven't been killed yet. I suppose one of you is a prince who survived the massacre.>

Good, Visser 3 still thought the rest of the members were andalites, older and more experienced andalites.

<You'll never take this planet Visser 3> Aldrea said confidently. <The andalite fleet will come here and burn your ships from orbit>

<I suppose.> Visser 3 said, feeling chatty at the moment and boastful. <But by the time the arrogant andalites come, the Earth will be mine.>

Aldrea flicked her tail up, threatening, even though she knew her tiny blade would be unable to even match the huge muscled tail that Alloran owned.

<Funny thing.> Visser 3 said calmly. <My host, he fights all the time and yet when I lay eyes on you he shuts up.> He tilted his head, stalk eyes ever watchful. <Let me see why, hmmmm>

Visser 3 closed his main eyes, looking thoughtful, even peaceful but the dark aura that always surrounded him betrayed his true nature.

I sigh in my mind, resting against the wall in our mind. Seeing through andalite eyes, seeing with their instincts, I realize how andalites could see the yeerks. They could see the other person lurking behind those captive eyes. How scary it must've been for Ax, walking through a crowd of humans and seeing the enemy there. But I knew that the yeerks are not naturally evil, and when I scanned the crowd with our stalk eyes, I could see one of the hork bajir was an Underground Resistance Member. There was a difference in those eyes. It could seem so cold and uncaring but to me, I could see that difference.

But in Visser 3, I could see hunger and desire. I could see the strong will as it pushes down the host mind. I feel fear, as a prey would to a predator. But this prey had a friend.

<Aldrea?>

<Yes?>

<Um....I hope this isn't a bad time but why are you here? I thought you left?>

<....> I could feel a tinge of shame. <I asked the Arn to do something, when you were asleep....I couldn't let you go Cassie, I had to stay. I had to live and keep on fighting.>

I understood. Aldrea had lost much to fight for the hork bajir, a species that were not her own. But still, to hijack her body would make her like a yeerk, an uncaring one. I could feel Aldrea's revulsion to my own thoughts.

Any other question I could ask, as in how did she do this and why I de/morphed into her body ended when Visser 3 started a low laugh ending it with a name.

<Hahahahahahahaha... ..Aldrea...> Visser 3 mused. <Aldrea-Iskillion-Falan, daughter of Prince Seerow the fool> He bent his body a bit, in a mockery of bow. <What an honor>

I felt Aldrea's anger, bristling. I could see snatches of her thoughts, of her memories. It was a nightmare . I try to calm her down, for her to think clearly. We were surrounded, still down in the yeerk pool. She calms down, tremors running up and down our body. I take control, wrestling it from hers. I do not speak, I may look like an andalite but I still have to work on thinking like one.

<Now, why don't you go down to the pool and stick your head in the water? It's rather painless.> Visser 3 wanted to infest me, Aldrea.

I couldn't let him do that.

Aldrea knew what to do, realized that they had not bound our tail.

I let her do it. Better dead than free.

Our tail whipped up, the hork bajir raised their dracon beams. The sharp end of the blade pressed against our throat. Aldrea was quite prepared to kill herself as not to compromise me. I wasn't as prepared but I knew that was the best choice at the moment. I wasn't Rachel, who might charge into battle. I wasn't Marco, who despite his bad jokes, was quite intelligent.

I will bluff. Aldrea will bluff. Hopefully. The blade may be small but it can cut deeply and by the time they get something to seal the wound, we will be dead.

You see, you can't infest a dead body.
