An Ax Moment

I was sent the above video in an e-mail forward, and I couldn't help but think of our beloved Aximili, from Book 8:

Quote
"So if it isn't the wars that bother you, what is it?"

<You discovered radioactivity in 1896. In 1945 you exploded an atomic weapon. Forty-nine years. In 1903 you flew for the first time. Sixty-six years later, you landed on your moon.>

"You really did read the World Almanac, didn't you?" Cassie said with a smile. "You're saying we do things quickly?"

<I'm saying that if the Yeerks don't destroy you now, they know that fifty years from now, humans will be capable of faster-than-light travel. And a hundred years from now . . . who knows?>

"How long did it take you Andalites to do those things?"

     <I . . .  I don't remember,> I lied.

Forgive me if the link things don't work- I'm new to this!

That was truly amazing! Reading that stuff really boggles the mind!

And I love that Ax quote. It's almost scary to think of how fast we change.

Great post. And yes, quite amazing how far we've come, and the time it took us.

Yeah, thats why I dont think humans were around for a million years. In 6000 years, we went from wheel barrow, to Space station. So if we were aaround for a million years, we should be living in another galaxy by now. Its ssaying for 994000 years, we justsat in gaves, twiddling our thumbs.

I've already heard that people are being trained for technology that hasn't been invented yet, because of how fast technology grows. The rest of that stuff I hadn't heard of.

A question that pops into my head is, why are people trying so hard? Is it simple competition? Each company/country trying to outdo the other? Or is it something else?

You know, that's something I never thought about. But I'm sure the reasons for that goes something like this:

Brain capacity wasn't developed enough to allow for logic, and reasoning.

Then again, that begs the question when did they determine that we became human? On an intellectual level? Physical?

I think it's more intellectual, when our brains reached a point of computation and our ancestors began to question their existence, even worshiping whatever gods they thought existed- when we first became incredulous with our purpose in life. Well, the more I think about it though- physically, we progressed above the Neanderthals and lived beyond them. That was also important.

Yes, we, as humans, are competitive, Nohensen. We are a prideful people obsessed with being the best- that is, everyone thinks they are superior to the rest of the world and strive to prove it. But it will become increasingly important for us to coexist peacably, I think.

I wonder how they know how smart someone was by looking at their skull.

I can totally picture Ax making this video to send to the Andalite Homeworld in order to describe the brunt of Human Life.

Wait a minute...perhaps he did make it...
