they all had moments that made me go "oh you badass" and moments that made me go "SHUT THE HELL UP AND GET OUT OF MY BOOK"

I have to agree with the Cassie hate. Well, maybe not hate. But out of all of her "DON'T KILL THE BABY ANIMALS :(" whining she had maybe one or two valid points. The rest of it honestly felt just like a superficial way to hold back the plot with her random "WAIT WAIT WAIT WE CAN'T KILL AN ANT THAT CAN MORPH, IT HAS HUMAN DNA!" even though she killed it anyway out of disgust UGH I JUST HATED HER

but ax had the most "oh you badass" moments. rachel had a lot too. One that surprised me in my *recent reread* of MM1 was just when she took a drink from a garden hose and said something like, "well, there's one thing taken care of." I mean, if I were amnesiac, lost in the woods, trapped in a burning building, with no idea who I was or where I lived, and somehow managed to find my way back to civilization, I certainly wouldn't have maintained a glass-half-full outlook like she did. Out of the first seven books, I think that was her most badass moment.

I don't get why everyone loves Tobias. He whined. I like angst as much as anyone, but DAMN could Tobias never figure out when to shut up.

Jake was kind of blah. I like Marco more and more with my rereads, but Cassie...ugh. No thank you.

Well i liked Tobias too but not for teh angst just  idno i thought he was cool he had his bad times and all. The whole I'm going to kill myself thing.

Cassie made many silly decisions I like her and all but some of the stuff she did  gave her miunus points

Marco i liked him a lot he is funny and cute. liked his longer hair and was very smart

Jake was good too a little to plain for my liking but that was probably one of teh things that made him a good leader by not getting so emotional ...unlike Cassie

Rachel is a bit to wild and crazy XD but isn't that why people like her

Aximili: idno i just loved the guy since book 5 XD sure he did have his issues with  who was in charge and all but he figured it out in the end.

David: i liked him in the beginning he was a tough guy and everything than he ruined it grr @ him

I honestly like all the the characters, which is why I liked the book. Sometimes Cassie annoyed me with the excessive morals, but you still need someone to stop you from getting too low.

As far as personality depth goes, my favorites were Marco and Tobias. I also like Ax because he's just interesting.

I like Marco because he's a step ahead, and he knows what needs to get done. He was the first to accept that you need to do what's right, even if it's wrong. Even in real life, I like a person who sincerely knows that life isn't fair, but works with it even if it isn't the best thing.

Tobias is just that loner that no one understands that everyone feels they relate to. I liked his moral balance a lot though.

What does it mean to be free?

Tobias still continues to be my favorite. His loner human life and the him being the kid that was always picked on made me relate to him from the beginning. and then through out the series his character was so necessary.

Marco was hilarious. But aside from that he knew what had to be done to save the human race as a whole, and helped give balance to cassie's craziness, so he was an indispensable character.

and Ax is Ax, how can you NOT like him? ;D

Blame the books. They go so long saying their the animorphs, plus Ax. Though since Animorph means animal morpher, by that definition ax should not be exempt.
