"Well I was thinking you could pilot and I could man the guns. Though you seem to want a good rest, so my wounded pride can wait. Myitt borrowed my ship, and is going after Salem's ship where Keshin is. Now that my mind isn't so foggy with poison, I'm thinking I should have told her no. I chased that ship around a bit and it never fired back, which meant it probably couldn't fire. I don't know what will happen now that there's someone to actually fire the weapons."

Claxter noticed Ossanlin trotting towards the bar. <Prince Ossanlin! It is good to see you up. I came out because there's a Prince Ronny-Alleron-Esgarth that came to the bar that says he knows you. He wanted me to tell you he was back.>

"It's because I'm insane." Cody said bluntly. "Though I've been behaving myself somewhat since I've been here. This place has some kind of weird vibe around it that causes people to get along better thta elsewhere would be killing each other on site. I was in a rubber room before the Yeerks made me a host, and my current life is more interesting than that. What's your excuse?"

Ossanlin nods to Temrash.  <No rest for the warrior I'm afraid.  But I need to talk to Tamora first...this has to stop, who knows what else she'll try?>

Ossanlin is nearly at the bar and stops short as Claxter comes up to him speaking of...Prince Ronny?!  What in the Homeworld was he doing here?  The last he remembered of Ronny was years ago...the defense of the Featherian homeworld...an epic battle it had been.  Ronny had been the commander of that defensive operation.  At the time Ossanlin had barely had a command...having controlled the Galaxy Tree for less than two years.  Now things had changed...the 'Tree had fallen in that battle, but that was when Ossanlin had gotten the Tyrennian...updated and more powerful.  Ossanlin had seen a lot more combat since then as well, had become more experienced.  There had been no doubt that Ronny had been the most seasoned veteran available to command that op and Ossanlin respected him, but he felt on a level with the older Prince now.  War had a way of aging one's mind.

<Very good Claxter...interesti ng that Ronny would come back here again...I haven't seen or heard from him in years.  I will speak with him as soon as possible, but I need to speak with Tamora first...>

Ossanlin enters the bar and looks around, resting a hand on one sword hilt.  He spots Ronny and raises an eyebrow...something seemed less...combative about him.  He scans the bar again and notices Tamora not far off.  He trots up to her table, draws his right-hand katana, and swings to hold it to her neck without trying to draw blood, his tail whipping around behind her head to hold it steady.  <It wouldn't be difficult Tamora.  Not at all.  If I was a ruthless, soul-less creature like so many of my race I would do it and be done with you.  That would be the smart thing to do.  I wouldn't be surprised if you're thinking about advantages for the Empire as I speak...  You paid Kesshin didn't you?  You put out hits.  If you want to kill me, fine...I'll deal with that.  But when you start going after my friends and colleagues, I stop playing nice.  So if you would like to keep that messed-up, psychotic little Imperial head on your dapsen shoulders...I would advise you to stay away from my friends...because next time, you'll be done.>  Ossanlin delivers the whole speech in a calm, cold, near-monotone voice, the word dapsen coming out a bit awkward as he doesn't usually use Yeerk profanity.  He removes both blade and tail, walking away from her, back turned and unconcerned.  He sheathes the katana, looking back toward the bar entrance before glancing again at Ronny.

((Jessi, let me know if this tad bit of powergaming doesn't work.  (I didn't really give Tamora a chance to respond to my actions.)  If it doesn't, I'll modify it.  :)  ))

"Hey. I've been waiting for you." Cody said to Ossanlin, unphased by his threatening of Tamora. "I want my Yeerk back. Assuming you aren't planning to hold me captive her indefinitely. And if you're not going to chop her head off, then don't bother swinging your blades around."

Temrash and Claxter followed Ossanlin in, with Claxter taking a spot near cody and Temrash finding a table to sit at. Temrash watched the Hork-Bajir with mild interest, or at least Jagill was interested in him. He thought about taking a feed and letting Jagill talk to the guy, but he wasn't sure if now was a good time with this Ronny guy here.

Tamora shrugs, tucking away the information about Cody's insanity for later examination. "The Yeerks need me," she says simply, "More than any human ever has. All my life I've been abandoned. Abandoned by my parents, abandoned by my sister. Everyone had something better to do than keep promises made to a silly little girl. After Teresa left I was...totally alone."

She peters off, taking another sip of her drink. When she lowers the glass she shrugs at Cody, "Even if I'm just a pawn in this war, it's better than not being on the board at all."

Tamora's speech is cut short when the Andalite in charge of her abduction enters the bar. As soon as he appears she stiffens, which turns out to be a good thing, because a moment later there is a blade at her throat. She holds her position, eyes wide with terror as the Andalite threatens her life. Then, just as quickly, the blades are gone and she collapses back onto the bar, trembling ferociously.

"I need to get out of here," she gasps at last, eyes wild with fear.

After that little episode, Cody took in what tamora had said. "I know what it feels like to not have anyone care about me. I was deemed too dangerous to myself and others, so they tucked me away in a room where it seemed like the only people who knew I existed were the doctors that kept me drugged up on meds, and other people like myself."

Dara's first reaction to the scene with Tamora was relief. At least she wouldn't try to take him back to empire he hoped. Those andalites, I wonder if they could help me figure out what to do now that I'm free. He takes his last bite of bark and downs his juice. Turning he noticed the other Hork-Bajir looking at him. I wonder why he's staring at me I won't get too friendly with him, for all I know he could be a controller. He returns the other Hork-Bajir's stare.

Temrash noticed the Hork-bajir looking at him, and gave a little wave. He wouldn't be screaming about Yeerks earlier if he was one. If he was a rebel, he'd be yelling about Imperials or Loyalists. The guy didn't seem to trusting, but there was intelligence in his eyes. He wondered if this guy was a seer.

Dara walks over to the other Hork-Bajir and attempts to strike up a conversation. "Hi I'm Dara Tyren, what's your name?" he asks.

Temrash decided to just let Jagill speak and see where things went. "Jagill. What is yours? You are different?" The word different to Hork-Bajir meaning someone was a seer. "You escaped Yeerks?"

Myitt winces at the blinding white light.  Unsure of how to avoid what is clearly an energy beam, or a series of them, filling her entire vision, she banks the ship left in the hope that it will save their lives.

The first shot impacts their hull, melting and peeling away huge chunks of living metal and exposing the titanium alloy skeleton.  The ship shudders so violently that Myitt is knocked back in the seat she's strapped into.

The shields snap on from Tora's order and the other two glancing shots are absorbed by them, but the crimson red glow in the cabin indicates that whatever the first shot did, it did it well.

"Warning," states the computer's cool, androgynous voice in Yeerkish, "right flank shields at...60...percent.  Hull breach--"

Myitt taps at the flickering holoscreen to shut the voice up, gasping and coughing on tendrils of smoke that are seeping into the cabin.

"Alic, bank us right, we're going to hit the damn trees!" she yells finally, sucking in acrid air.  "Tora, can you get another shot?"

---

Corliss glares at Ossanlin as he walks off and starts talking to Temrash.

"Hey, wait a damn minute, Ossanlin, killing thousands is an entirely different--"

He's cut off by a blinding flash of light, somewhere far up ahead through the trees.  Even at this distance, the glow forces him to look away.

"What was that?" he demands, scowling at the ground and shutting his eyes tightly.

"I run from Empire too. This place is weird. People come not from our time or place, but other times and places. Mostly rebels here. No Empire right now. Some army come earlier, but they gone now. Some dangers here at bar, but we manage. Some Hruthin here, but not all bad."

"Dara sounds like Tara. But she's Human."

"About the Hruthin how are they, would they help get more of our kind get free?" He asks since a controller wouldn't talk like Jagill does.

"Probably not. Hruthins are the problem. Not the answer. They try to stop Yeerks, but only for them. Not us. Most Hruthin, at least. Ossy seem ok. Buffy arm Hruthin over there. I hear rumor, though. Free Hork-Bajir on Earth. Never seen them, and might not even be."
