Mar smirks as soon as he catches Corliss' expression of dislike and folds his hands behind his back. "Dear boy, the 19th century is my frame of reference, you know. This mind took more information from there than it did from most places. And whether Michael is from London or, say Liverpool...you both strike me as filthy street rats of your own measure."

Mar laughs lightly and then states, "So Ossanlin's ship is trying to stay low? At least, that's what I gather. Well that produces problems for us, now doesn't it? All I know for sure is that neither one of them is dead: if that had happened, I would have been drawn to the place from miles away. At least I can give you that much piece of mind. The rest is woefully unclear."

"Yes, thank you for the compliment, Mar," Corliss sneers.  "At least you're good for telling us they 'aven't been killed off yet.  I was beginning to wonder just what exactly you were still doing here."

A small smile curls around Terenia's lips as she watches Corliss and Mar go back and forth. Terenia still was not exactly sure what she felt towards Mar, but it certainly was nothing positive. Not hatred exactly, more of a grinding, apathetic frustration. She enjoyed hearing Corliss' cutting words.

"I am here because I find the place fascinating," states Mar, again with that odd smile. "Other than pathetic little examples of rebellion like yourselves I have found two people who don't hate me on sight. That alone is something of a small miracle." Mar gestures out at Elayne vaguely, almost "purring" again. "Lovely young woman, really. Very nearly as open-minded and trusting as Ossanlin was."

Mar then mutters, "The situation has changed. There's a young boy who lost his father named Trey in the bathroom. Wide-eyed, innocent, and a bit dim. And this...being called the Director, apparently."

((Misplaced modifier!!!  Am I right, T? XD))

Corliss watches in distaste as Mar purrs over Elayne.  "You really don't expect Myitt to put up with you swooning all over her, do you?  I don't reckon you've noticed, but she's not exactly the romantic type."  He glances idly at the bloody mess near the door.  "Caught a glimpse of the kid when I came in.  That was his father?  Tough luck, poor little bastard.  I hope the bar didn't suck them in 'ere just for a lark..."

((Chad, do you want to act out burying Trey's dad with me, or should we just leave the Bar for a little bit? I hate to miss all the conversations, but I'm sure they'll still be happening when we return.  :D ))

(It doesn't matter to me.)

Belzar continued walking outside the bar, but wasn't sure where to take the body. When one of his kind died, the body was recycled. Terenia had made a digging motion, but where to start digging?

Elayne followed the robot out of the Bar and, when he seemed uncertain as to where to go, she headed towards where she had buried her pilot. Although he seemed unfamiliar enough with interacting with humans and other living creatures, he seemed to correctly read much of their body language, so she beckoned to him. "There's a reasonably nice spot over here," she said, even though she knew he couldn't understand her. "Plus there's a translator program built in to my ship this way that I should be able to extract; I'm not leaving the Bar for a while, it seems."

Belzar followed Elayne while carrying the body. It was beginning to become stiff and cold, which was odd.

When they reached the recently dug grave, Elayne looked to Belzar and pointed to the ground beside it. "Can you dig here?" she asked, miming the action. "If you want to get started on that, I'll see if I can get the translator chip from my ship and try to integrate it into your core." She was perfectly aware he couldn't understand her, but someone it seemed right that she should speak to him, anyway.

Belzar placed the body down and began digging in the spot that Elayne pointed to. His hands weren't really built for digging, but they were strong and he didn't feel pain or tiredness. Once he dug a sizeable pit he placed the body in and began to cover him up with dirt.

Mar nods, watching Elayne and Belzar leave to bury Trey's father. He wonders briefly if he should provide some kind of assistance but then figures that they have the situation under control. "The Bar does seem to have a mind of its own, doesn't it? I planned to stay here for barely a moment and now I have somehow ended up staying for weeks. It seems to run by its own logic, this place."

Mar then grins a bit. "And as for Myitt...I know that she couldn't give a damn about me right now, in this life. But I actually don't need her to. I just need to wait until she is dead. I only stay beside her to play with her...and to be close to her, of course."

Elayne nodded her thanks to Belzar and walked away from him towards her ship, keying in a number into the pad by the door, and heading inside. The ship was quiet and dark; the only light was that coming from the window. Picking up the flashlight hanging from the bunk's bedpost, she ducked under the bridge console and slid on the floor on her back, releasing a door on the underside of the panel and peering inside. She gripped the flashlight between her teeth and shone its beam into the wire-filled cavity. After poking around for a few minutes, she found the translator chip and detached it from the console. She stood and left the ship, heading to the grave site. "Let me try to connect this, alright?" she asked Belzar, holding he chip up.

Terenia raises her eyebrows at Mar, curiosity overcoming her general distaste for the 'man'. She raises her glass for another sip and comments coolly, "you seem pretty concerned with Myitt's welfare for someone who only needs her to be dead. Shouldn't you be trying to kill her off, if that's all you want?"

Mar shakes his head, an odd expression coming over him. The flamboyant man seems almost...quieted, as if deep in thought. "It is...not normally my place to cause direct harm to people. Although I may interfere in their lives, if I attacked them...it would be me doing them in and not their own vices. I would have gained nothing. No despair, no self-loathing...only fear. What good is that to me? So...I am unaccustomed to physical assault on mortals. As for Myitt specifically..."

Mar blinks and frowns, shrugging half-heartedly. "I...do not want to harm my Precious. Her soul would...obviously live through the death, but...I cannot bring myself to physically assault her even when it carries no penalty in the Game. Besides...Precious and Ossanlin made me agree not to interfere while she is alive."
