Mar floats up towards the hatch and peers about inside it. The place is so dark that he cannot see much at all. Although it's clear that the dead man did not leave the lights on, and that his ship is a terrible mess. Mar's eyes have an odd glow to them in the dark light, but it's clear that they do not perform their usual function nearly as well. Mar groans. This is going to be a lot harder than I'd bargained for. Looks like I have to actually go in there.

Mar then turns back to Elayne and shakes his head. "It's far too dark to make anything out. I'm going to have to go inside and see what I can find. If I don't come back, you're going to need to get help. But..." Mar frowns. "...judging from his companion's name...either way I'm going to have to carry someone. One way is just easier than the other."

But before he can even wait for Elayne's answer, the odd robot decides to enter the hold himself. Mar glances at Elayne and shrugs. He seems to know what he's doing, so Mar decides to wait directly outside the hatch.

At his words, Elayne's expression turned to one of concern for Mar's safety. He certainly didn't look like much of a fighter, although it could have been his frilly clothes that gave her that perception. Still, she was a decent shot with a Dracon, and she didn't like the idea of him going in there unprotected. If his body was killed, she knew it wouldn't be the end of him, but it might mean the end of this mortal iteration of himself with whom she had grown surprisingly close in just a few hours.

When Belzar lifted himself up, she watched in surprise and returned Mar's shrug with raised eyebrows. "Mar," she murmured while waiting for Belzar to scan the ship--or whatever it was he was doing, "if you can lower some kind of ramp, I'll come up there and help you. Who knows what the hell is in there; I can back you up," she said, gesturing a little with her Dracon.

((Chad, I already posted what Belzar would see. Unless he has night vision, in which case let me know and I'll edit. Flights about to take off now, I'll be back in a few hours. Pray that my pilot is better than this new chara :) I don't feel like landing sideways today!

(Sorry. I must have missed it. Let me go back and check.)

The inside of the ship was definitely in need of repair. Unfortunately Belzar was not a repair droid, but he could secure the area for the mechanic. There wasn't anything immediately threatening, so Belzar turned around and attempted to find some ramp controls. He hadn't understood Elayne talking about a ramp, but it would be common sense to look for one. He began looking around the doorframe for a control board, and found a button that released the ramp. It came down, and Belzar began looking for any compartments that could hide something threatening.

Mar blinks and watches the odd robot work his way around the compartment. For someone who's probably as if not more confused than he is, the creature seems to have a handle on things. Perhaps it's used to such situations. Elayne's concern is warranted. Mar really has no concrete approach yet to fighting in this weak body. Anything he could use normally will blow a hole in his chest, and he's not sure if he still has the sword on him. Mar feels at the sides of his coat and disappointedly hangs there. He must have dropped it during the fight with the otherworld servant.

Luckily enough, Belzar drops the ramp in short order. Mar grins and lands on the ramp. Well, sort of. He's actually still floating, but only centimeters above it. He then gestures for Elayne to follow. "On to adventure, my dear. Since you are my only Guard, make sure the Dracon is ready. I'm going to go ahead to help you look for this...Treyliss fellow. My, my. You do seem to get in ever so much danger, sweetie. Your Prince is barely keeping up with you!"

Mar then laughs and darts into the hatch, looking around it awkwardly for anything alive. He's debating simply snuffing out the creature's breath for good and ending the pursuit, but that would not make Elayne happy. And he's not even sure if the being is wounded enough or not. What an utter pain this Bar is turning out to be. Mm, well. It's sort of exciting, isn't it?

((Oh I like this pace much better! It was weird not having the thread constantly come up on my Show New Replies to Your Posts page. Yay, thanks for livening things up, Jessi!))

The ramp descended and intercepted the ground with a crunch of gravel, and Elayne called to Belzar, "Thanks," although she still was fuzzy on whether or not he could even understand her. Still, he seemed a sensible enough robot.

The angle of the ramp was rather sharper than it should have been, thanks to the awkward position of the ship, but she managed to climb it and move into the hatch behind Mar and Belzar.

"On the contrary, Mar," she smirked as he moved inside. He seemed to be in high spirits, which made her smile despite her caution. "I can't keep up with you if you move ahead so quickly." She took the safety off her Dracon and moved farther inside after them. Then she stopped, waiting for her eyes to adjust to the ship that was dark, save the occasional flash of light from sprays of sparks. What was it he called me? A guard? He said it strangely, somehow. Like a title, she thought while she waited, listening for sounds of life ahead.

((*bows* your wish is my command. :) ))

Though Elayne and Belzar together do not weigh much, the broken craft groans at the new additions. Almost as though in reponse a gutteral, ragged moan comes from underneath hat at one time might have been the primary navigational controls.

With Belzar's legs spread as they were, he wasn't in danger of falling. He did extend an arm towards Elayne so she could catch herself. Mar could hover at will, so he wasn't likely to fall either. With the place as seemingly secure as a broken down ship could be, he decided he might try to stabalize the ship from the outside. He left the ship and went to one side to try to pull the ship down onto the dangling landing gear.

((Good flight, Jessi? Were my wardrobe recommendations apt?))

As the ship shuddered, Elayne instinctively grabbed Belzar's arm with her Dracon-free hand. "Okay, I'm stable now," she whispered to Belzar, talking mostly to make herself feel better. When he left, she looked to Mar, who her eyes had now adjusted enough for her to see more clearly. She noticed that his eyes were glinting strangely... or perhaps they were a source of light on their own; it was difficult for her to tell. She peered ahead deeper into the ship as she heard a groan. "That didn't sound mechanical," she murmured to Mar. She put a hand on the nearest wall to keep from falling should the ship move and began tentatively moving forward.

((it was good and your advice was fabulous!))

As Elayne looks around the indistinct shapes begin to distinguish themselves slowly. A luggage bag. A spilled container of rations, emblazoned with the bright yellow arches of a McDonald's. And wedged under the main control panel, underneath a destroyed metal chair, is a lump of fabric that is the same khaki shade as the jump suit the dead man had been wearing. With another moaning noise, the fabric moves slightly, as though trying to lift the weight from his chest.

Mar's eyes widen as they slowly adjust, catching the movement of the injured man below. At least he assumes that's what he is looking at. Mar slowly concentrates and attempts lifting the metal chair off the man using his mind. He's been able to pull something akin to this trick very early in his stay in the Bar, as it doesn't require him to conjure or shift anything. He was getting slightly better at it when the demon appeared...Already draining a bit of energy though. I hope this...Treyliss person is worth it...

Mar glances with a slight nod at Elayne, hoping she gets the message to try and help the guy out of there while he is going at it.

Elayne gasped as the chair lifted into the air seemingly on her own, but at Mar's nod, she abruptly realized he was controlling it, and hurried forward to drag the weakly shifting person out from under it. She grunted with the effort and slipped on something on the floor once, but finally managed to grip him under his arms and get the figure out of immediate harm--immediately thereafter plopping rather ungracefully onto her rear end. "Heavy," she panted to Mar with a breathless grin.

Outide, Belzar had managed to grasp the elevated landing gear. Unfortunately the ground was too soft to really hook his feet into, but he began trying to pull it over and ease it back into a proper position.

((Hmm, Hunter hasn't shown up again yet. Think I should just have Keshin bug Terenia then?  :P ))

Mar then throws the chair slightly to the side of him mentally and exhales, looking as if he had been dragging the thing around with his bare hands. "Yes, very heavy," he mutters with a similar grin, bending over to take a good look at the man they have uncovered. He seems to be getting somewhat better at lifting things, but he still gets a bit winded. Something to take care of in the future.
