She laughed. "You do look out of place here. But that's part of what makes you interesting to me. I think I'd look foolish in clothes from that time," she added with a smirk, rolling her eyes at the image her imagination produced. "Big frilly dresses and the like... the last time I was in a dress was probably Easter morning when I was six or seven."

She glanced towards the Bar, abruptly realizing Keshin was back in the building. "Wonder what happened between him and that Andalite," she murmured to herself before looking back to Mar. "So were these al business trips to Earth? Were you chasing after your Precious there?"

Mar shakes his head, lightly. "I have for whatever reason taken a liking to one of the Earths that exist. The people there are malleable and easily manipulated, and when driven to fanaticism they are the most dangerous and vile thing that I have ever seen. Most versions of Earth have some element of this, and so I decided to make it my business to twist the planet into a world of suffering and pain. The trips were exactly that: business trips." Mar then smirks a bit. "I think that I have succeeded admirably."

Mar then looks her up and down and says calmly, "I think you'd look lovely in a proper woman's dress with a bit of cleaning up. Maybe we can try that at some point. And...I do wonder what went on between the bounty hunter and Terenia. That fool always seems to be jumping from one mess to another, never minding his own business. Not very careful, if you were to ask me."

Terenia nods slowly, <even machines can't all get along, I guess. So, you were sucked into this portal alone, then? I haven't seen any other 'droids wandering around. Then again, not much would surprise me at this place.>

She sighs and glances back towards the bar, <Hey, I'm going to go grab a drink. I think I'm going to need one if **** is going to hit the fan in the way I expect it to. Care to join me? Or are there machiney things you would prefer to do out here?>

"Sentience has been a miracle and a curse for us. There is actually a small pile of broken machinery among the tall plants, but trust me when I say you don't want them to get fixed. Personally I don't want to enter the building again. That creature might come back, and I don't really care for it."

<What creature?> Terenia asks, looking towards the bar warily. Had something new entered in her absence? She wasn't sure that she could handle much more drama, and she really didn't want some new adversary interfering with her and a relaxing drink.

Elayne laughed and nodded. "I'd say so, too. We're a pretty easily frightened bunch of bipeds. I'm sure you just love it there--insanity and chaos reign supreme. People jump at the slightest hint and will believe every lie they're told.

"But enough on that cheerful subject," she grinned. "And I'd rather not even try to imagine myself in some frilly dress thing. I'm pretty practical."

She turned in her seat to glance at Keshin. "I can't fault him for that; I'm exactly the same way: ruled much of the time by passions and spur-of-the-moment decisions rather than rational thoughts. And look at me; I turned out just fine, losing a movement and running away to find myself lost on a strange little rock with a strange new friend," she teased, smiling as she looked to Mar.

"You saw it, yes? It came out of the floorboards, cackling deviously. It might come again, and even though it seemed to help me, I don't trust it."

((The Bar needs more people for us to talk to. Kelly Sad Mode. )=  Once this is finished, no leaving the Bar for a while! ;)  ))

Keshin, having entered the Bar, sits down casually and orders up a tall glass of orange juice. It does not take long to reach him, and for a while the two of them sit contentedly. It's the first time they have been able to relax at all during the day. Keshin notes that the machine and Terenia are having yet another bizarre conversation. Though it's not like they have anything better to do until Terenia's associate arrives. <What do you make of that guy, anyway?>

<Terenia's sister's Yeerk? Dunno yet. We haven' met 'im. But anybody that threatens somebody else ain't alright in my book. Though maybe he's got dough. The robot's just plain weird.>

<We'll have to see. Looks like the two lovebirds are still going at it. Figures.>

Keshin waves and gives Elayne a slight smile, and then gets back to his orange juice.

Mar gives Elayne an ironic smirk. "I'd say you did fairly well considering.  I spend most of my time either manipulating the public, slogging through pointless paperwork, and dealing with people I don't want to see at the moment. My business has the highest employee mortality rate of any place in the world, and my friends have this tendency to get murdered. At least we share certain commonalities. Everyone hates me, too." Mar snickers, and then blinks oddly. "...I haven't really talked about any of this before. To anyone. In this body, at this time...I wonder what in the world I was so afraid of."

Mar then shrugs. "Why so practical all the time, Elayne? Showing off uselessly is just as much fun as providing a service, if not more so. It would certainly gain you a lot more ground in that world of paranoid humans that you mentioned. They react well to smoke and mirrors. I would know."

((I wonder if the pirate mission is planning on returning anytime soon. I haven't been paying too much attention to that thread.))

<Oh, that,> Terenia says, looking a bit foolish, <so much is happening I forgot all about that, despite it being incredibly creepy. I guess I'm not so much surprised anymore. This place reeks of strange. I mean, I feel as though I've been here a lifetime and it hasn't even been one full feeding cycle. It's just been one thing after another and->

Terenia cuts off, realizing that she is rambling, as she sometimes does when she is nervous, <yeah, I need a drink...> she mutters, reaching the bar door and entering. Not even wasting time on taking inventory of the patrons, she walks straight up to the bar and orders a shot of Jameson. As the bartender glares and fills her order she begins morphing human.

(It's going very slowly, actually.)

Belzar listened to terenia ramble and then walk into the bar. standing alone, he felt a little awkward for being afraid to enter the place, so he walked through the door as well. Now Terenia was changing into something that wasn't an insect, but Belzar tried not to stare.

The bartender looked at him expectantly, and he didn't really know what to say. He needed oil, and with a half serious tone he told the guy what kind of oil he wanted. Much to his surprise, the Bartender walked into the back and brought out a cannister of oil a minute later. He wrote on a piece of paper the word "payment?" when Belzar took the can.

"I'm afraid I don't have anything to give, but when my people show up they can give you something."

The bartender's expression didn't change, but Belzar opened a port and poured the oil into it.

As soon as Terenia is fully human she pulls a bar stool out, swinging herself onto the padding and accepting her drink. She takes the shot in one quick motion. Luckily the bartender is already there with the beer she was about to order as a chaser, and she takes it gratefully.

"Thanks," she chokes out after a long swig, "Ungh, I forgot how horrible that stuff tasted."

She rolled her shoulders, working out the tension as she tried not to think about what was coming her way.

((Hey, Hunter, is your character human? :) Just so you know everyone in the bar currently looks human except for Chad's character who is a machine. Terenia is in human morph, Elayne (Marie's chara) is human, Mar appears human and Keshin has a human host, so if your chara is human the bar wouldn't look too strange. :)

Also, WELCOME BACK!! *hugs* ))

Elayne laughed and shook her head. "Not my style, I guess," she told Mar. "People were always looking for a reason to hate me anyway, so I didn't want to give them another. But maybe I could take some lessons from you," she raised an eyebrow to him with a grin.

The door opened and an Andalite she was vaguely sure she had met much earlier entered; Elayne turned to watch her, then blinked in surprise as she began morphing into Terenia, the human with whom she had spoken about Belzar. Only then did she make the connection between the two. Before she could react, however, Belzar entered after her. "Looks like the Bar's getting a little bit livelier," she remarked to Mar. She was about to turn back to him when the door opened for a third time and another individual--one she had never seen before--walked inside. "Huh," she remarked, raising an eyebrow, her eyes tracking him a moment before glancing back to Mar to gauge his reaction.

((Yay, Hunter's here! I'm glad you're back! :D))

((Rawr, there aren't enough people in the Bar for us to do anything. )= They all went to space D:. Sorry for the random and obvious OOC post. I'll probably post later tonight just to get things moving in here. Too lazy now. I hope everybody comes back soon. ))
