<Yes my Prince.> Claxter said. He took the pilot's position, and ran through standard procedure in his head before starting. he gave commands to the ship in the proper order while inputing a few things into the computer. He kept an eye on all monitors, and gave the computer any commands necessary to ensure proper order to the warmup.

<Thrusters priming. Shield matrix syncing with current Z-Space configurations. All gauges reading optimal.>

Claxter was quite proud that he could work so smoothly, but he tried to look like this was just another typical thing he did.

((Suggestions on when Keshin should wake up? Don't know what the length of a Dracon stun would be, actually. I really need to re-read some of these books... :P ))

Mar nods calmly at Issid. This seems like the best thing for the two of them to be doing, considering his mental state while around Elayne. "I would be delighted to do that, actually. ...especially since I've never slept." Mar rubs the back of his head uncomfortably. "Incarnations have before, but never for very long at any given time. .....I wonder what sort of thing a Highest dreams about in mortal form."

Mar then frowns as he catches an odd expression of worry and panic on Issid's face for a fraction of a second. His own eye color briefly flashes purple, which is very odd considering he's mortal. "Could it be..." Mar then rolls up his sleeve, revealing the bizarre gauntlet that is his left arm. The indents between the gauntlet's plating begin to light up. "...Elayne, can I please try something? I require your permission to proceed. ...it should not hurt, and I am obligated by the Rules not to truly steal anything without a trade in return."

((Feel better, Patty!))

Issid's eyes immediately narrowed in suspicion and she involuntarily took a step backwards. "What do you want to do?" she asked cautiously.

<See, this is exactly what I didn't want happening,> she growled to Elayne, who was silent in response, although Issid could feel her hopes of being rescued begin to stir.

She dipped into Elayne's memories--or rather her false memories--to an earlier conversation with Mar. "Does this have something to do with your... soul business?" she asked.

Mar nods rather calmly, although he is already wondering if he should lie about it in order to discover the result he expects to find. I can downplay it somewhat, at least. Or try. If what I think might have happened has happened, then Elayne is in a lot of trouble right now. And...the other person may be unlikely to trust me.

"It's a fairly simple procedure. I just want to check out your soul for a moment, using this," states Mar, clenching his gauntlet arm's fingers together briefly. "The discomfort would only be temporary, and without an agreement and something to give you in return I cannot legally keep it permanently or alter it. I will return it to you right after I am finished looking at it, which should only take me a few moments. Besides..."

Mar smiles at Elayne. "...you told me that your culture no longer believes what I want to do is possible. So what's the harm? I'll just appear to be a madman playing around with thin air."

Issid drew her arms around herself and slowly shook her head. "No," she murmured, taking another step backwards.

<What do you have to lose?> Elayne spoke up. <Even if you do manage to get away from him and into Myitt's ship, the thing needs serious repairs, and it will be quite some time before you can get it off the ground. Even if you were successful, you'd still have to catch up with the others and stop them--and all before you have to feed in--what is it now, a day and a half? You know that I'll head back for the Bar just as soon as you leave my head.>

Issid let out an audible growl and shook her head again. <I won't have him removing my soul or finding me out.>

<Can't you see it's too late for that? He already knows something is wrong,> she replied.

<Damn you,> Issid snapped. <Were it not for you trying to protect the fool, he would have never known.> Her upper lip lifted in a snarl.

Mar's eyes flash that peculiar color again, but for longer. Mar folds his hands behind his back, an amused expression on his face. "How far, exactly, do you think you can go? Elayne is likely involuntary, judging from your reaction. And this entire Bar is absolutely crawling with rebel filth. If I send a message to the Andalite, you will not make it. And if you shoot me, it won't matter. You're in a terrible position to be refusing me, I'm afraid."

Mar laughs in a slightly twisted way, and then rubs his forehead, looking terribly uncomfortable and back to a more normal state of mind. It's as if he just made a mistake or did something embarassing in public. "....look, never mind. My point is that I will not allow you to leave this Bar with my sweet Elayne as your slave. At least if what I think may have happened has happened."

Issid's eyes widened and then narrowed into angry slits. "How did you--? Never mind," she growled.

<I told you as much,> Elayne smirked.

<Shut up!> Issid hissed in return. "Very well," she grudgingly addressed Mar. "Do as you will."

((Hope you have fun Kitsune! :D I shall post. The funny thing is...Mar's bluffing a bit. If she really did kill him, he'd be stuck outside the Bar for quite some time and would not be able to re-enter in mortal form. Which is what he wants to do, because otherwise he's pretty much a beacon of bad mojo for all other higher beings to see. And who knows if he could contact Ossanlin once out in a way that Ossanlin would recognize. But Issid doesn't know any of that. :p ))

Mar smiles in a way that's really pretty unnerving, despite its overall pleasant appearance. "Good. I'll just take a look and then decide what I'm going to do with this development. You worry a great deal for a Yeerk. But then again, most of your kind that I have met do a lot of worrying. How terribly sad."

Mar then walks slowly over and, somehow, reaches his left hand inside Elayne's head without causing any kind of wound. He then removes...nothing, from Elayne's perspective. But it sure feels like something is missing, which produces an empty pit in whatever the equivalent of Issid's stomach is. As if an important aspect of perception has been lost.

Mar on the other hand sees something terribly unstable. Issid's soul is distorting and warping the timestream around it, which causes Mar to stagger and clutch his stomach again. The Yeerk should not be here in this timeline. That much is obvious. And until Sukohn makes his information trade, that will be the case. ....what will I do, then? That remains to be seen. Mar walks awkwardly back towards Elayne and puts Issid's soul back in Elayne's head.

Mar swallows uncomfortably and then continues. "...yes, as I suspected. ...something about Sukohn's escape triggered this version of yourself and Elayne. Whoever you are. Now...to be honest, I can't stand the fact that dear Elayne has been enslaved. But I must...regrettably put my priorities in order. And I have not until now." Mar folds his arms behind his back, trying to keep as neutral and taciturn a face as possible given the situation. But he is faltering. "...I am a Highest concerned with entropy and suffering, one of many. If you can prove that the benefits of your timeline to me outweigh the terrible pain of losing Elayne to you...then we may have an understanding." Mar's expression turns harsh. "But I highly doubt that you can make that argument, Yeerk. At the moment I will not allow you to leave unless you pick a different host."

Myitt grins a bit.  "Yeah.  Wheaties.  I even have a box of milk.  Can you imagine?  A box of shelf-safe milk.  The things humans come up with."

She watches Ossanlin download the holodata, knowing that it's in good hands.  As he trots out toward the Mirage's hatchway she finally turns her attention to the human-looking girl standing in the bridge.

"Alic!" she cries, hugging her and patting her back with the box of Wheaties.  She steps back.  "I was wondering where you'd gone off to.  We're in one hell of a mess, in case you haven't had the debriefing."

((Ummmm...I'd say Keshin can wake up...now! XD  Have a fun trip Marie, your music rocks by the way!  Saw your band's gig page, celtic is da best :P))

((Keshin & Joanne post time. ))

It takes some time, but Joanne's eyes slowly open. Joanne groans loudly and stumbles about as she stands, her vision still a little shaky. "Ohhh man...Myitt got us Kess...I feel lousy. Not a good way ta end my bloody day. At least I think it's the end. Who..." Joanne then plops down on the ground again, waiting until her vision clears. "Who knows with this ****in' place."

<Check to see if we have everything and fire the Dracon. Knowing Myitt, she would've found some way to get the last laugh on us for all the trouble we've caused. Probably stole all our stuff and cackled while doing it. And made it so the gun just shoots the word "BANG" or something.>

<She ain't that sadistic, Kess.>

<She can be when she's angry.>

To that end, Joanne slowly sits up and rifles through her jumpsuit. Thankfully all the medicine is there, along with the syringe and their notes on possible contacts. As well as her lovely blade. But the disk is, naturally, missing. Joanne stamps on the ground. "Dammit, Kess! How the 'ell are we supposed ta replace that thing?! It had stuff ya need on it, didn' it?!"

<And it didn't just have Myitt's data on it...but we're probably not getting it back. We'll just have to deal with the fallout.>

Joanne then fires the gun at the ground. Absolutely nothing happens. Joanne sighs. "...looks like the batteries are dead for some reason. We'll replace 'em on the ship."

<That isn't how it works, Joanne. She must have tampered with the Dracon somehow, or even just removed the power supply. I'm sort of surprised she didn't just steal it and the knife from us. ..........oh, well. Let's head on back inside the Bar. We need to catch up with Terenia.>

Joanne then begins to walk across the grass and toward the direction the Bar is in.

Terenia does her best to interpret Elayne and Mar's conversation through the distorted hearing and vision of her morph, but she seems to be having a hard time of it because nothing they say makes any sense whatsoever. Elayne, a Controller? Mar groping around for some Yeerk's soul? It all seems completely absurd and Terenia, tired of fighting the morph's natural instincts, flips down from the ceiling and buzzes out the door past Mar's head. She makes her way to the main bar area, buzzing around over the heads of the large, nearly empty space.

<Boy, everyone sure cleared out quick> Terenia comments to herself, landing on the neck of a wine bottle.

(I like the idea of contacting the peace movement. I was wondering how you'd figure out where Sukohn is fast enough.)

Claxter noticed the way Myitt was happy to see Alic, but for some reason wrapped her arms around her and patted her in the back repeatedly with the box of wheaties. Strange.

<You know, my job as a soldier would probably be easier if all Yeerks were evil. However it seems fighting evil may cause me to side with some Yeerks, and fight some Andalites. They didn't go over that kind of thing in basic training.> He said aloud to himself.

When Joanne finally reaches the Bar, she cannot help but notice that there doesn't appear to be anyone inside but the Bartender. "Weird," she mutters, sitting down in a seat at the Bar. "Guess we're gonna have ta wait until that chick gets back inside ta say much. Or maybe somebody else. They're probably all goin' ta fix that problem we caused, Kess."

<Yes, that's probably it. But sitting around isn't going to do us any good. With most of the members of the Bar outside of it, it would not be difficult to sneak out with Terenia once they have left to go on their trip. Let's see if we can find her inside. If we can't, we'll check back around the asteroid.>

Keshin then calls out, being deliberately vague about who he's talking about in case there are any leftovers."Hey lady! This seems like a pretty good opportunity! Any time you're ready!"

((Hmm. He's right, though. How would us Roleplayers stop Terenia from escaping? ; )  ))

(Ossanlin's planning to put a tracker on. If Terenia does manage to escape, Claxter might lose it and do something emotional. Like kill Tamora or at least threaten to. Him and Terenia just don't get along at all at this point, and personally I don't like her either. She could teach a mule how to be more stubborn.)
