<I will attempt to locate Terenia. I would suggest killing Keshin, as he has obviously caused much trouble.> Claxter said, and trotted towards the bar.

<Terenia! where are you? We are trying to leave and stop Sukohn from securing your homeworld for Visser Three. Come out!>

He was tempted to enter the skimmer and put tail into that bounty hunter, but there just wasn't time.

Terenia paces the length of the small room she has locked herself in, wringing her hands worriedly. She feels truly bad about leaving Myitt hanging like that; she holds no ill will towards the Yeerk. In fact, Myitt is just about the only person who has attempted to be friendly with her. Well, Myitt and her brother, Corliss, but he had been gone for quite some time now.

<This is a foolish plan,> Efaen says calmly, <in fact, it is hardly a plan at all.>

<Shut up,> Terenia snaps, eyes scanning the room for anything that will help her in her cause. Dipping into Efaen's mind she sighs irritably.

<You think they will scan the bar for my life signs?> Terenia asks, <there are more people in this bar than just me. And besides, they don't know what form I am in. In fact...>

Grasping upon the idea, Terenia quickly begins to demorph. Once she finishes, her slightly more acute Andalite ears pick up talking in the hall. She tenses, but soon realizes that at least one of the voices, a male, is Mar. He may not like her, but he is hardly a threat. The other voice is female, and sounds familiar, but Terenia cannot place it. As the voices move away from the room she is locked in Terenia focuses her mind on another creature.

She rapidly shrinks, body mass being spewed into zero-space as she becomes roughly the size of a large housefly. Her face explodes outward in a twin proboscis and her limbs realign themselves. Bones and muscles melt, being replaced with a firm exoskeleton. Her purple-tint is all that remains, intensifying as her fur is sucked away and the exoskeleton takes on an acidic hue.

The final change to occur comes in the form of three sets of wings, which sprout from her back. Immediately Terenia buzzes towards the door, crawling under the crack and up to the ceiling. She turns upside down and comes to a rest on the cracked plaster.

((Cool, alien bugs! :D  And Chad, Myitt left Keshin in the woods, FYI.))

Myitt leans over the main control panel on the Skimmer.  "I didn't kill Keshin.  Oh, I was tempted, believe me.  Joanne's probably still unconscious over in the woods where I landed the Skimmer earlier.  I'll leave the communications open so you can reply, but I'll be moving throughout the ship.  Gotta pack, I suppose."

She heads to the storage room and carefully places the faux morphing cube into a ratty black backpack, stuffing a few other goods and clothing inside as well.

((Obviously Keshin and Joanne can't post anything like this, although people's snide comments will be funny to hear. XD I have had kind of a miserable day, actually. o__o; Well, at least Mar can post. :3 )

Mar's first reaction upon seeing the bathroom stall is to immediately wander into it, bend over, and throw up into the toilet. The throw-up looks approximately like you'd expect in a human, although there are bizarre chunks of some tar-like substance falling with it. Mar then throws up again and turns around, glancing back at Elayne and wiping his face. "Terribly....*choke*....sorry about that. There goes whatever dinner I've managed to have in this place."

Mar holds his stomach. "We have...got to get the timestream about you fixed."

((I'm sorry, Kelly. I hope tomorrow is better!))

Issid froze just outside the doorway when Mar looked at her. Her had was grasping the doorknob, and she was obviously in the process of closing it. She bit her lip and swung the door open while giving him a falsely bright smile. "I'm sorry. Are you alright?"

<Smooth,> Elayne congratulated Issid dryly. <Think maybe he'll realize the Elayne he knows would never lock him in a bathroom?>

<Nonsense--I was just giving him some privacy,> Issid responded. <Shut up a minute, will you?>

She stepped out of the bathroom just long enough to obtain a glass of tap water from the bartender. Returning to Mar, she placed the cup in his hand as she flushed the toilet, lowered the seat, and pressed him to sit on it so he could rest. If he was going to be hard to escape, she was going to at least her use time with him to gain some valuable information.

"The timestream... does that all depend on the actions of Ossanlin and the others?" she asked, leaning against the sink. "Or do you know of other methods?"

Ossanlin allows his computer to open the visual comm as well.  <Well, she doesn't have much of a choice now.  Zorish will be getting his intel soon, if she doesn't respond to a direct summons, especially from Zorish, her entire facade and everything she says she's worked for will be gone.  We may end up leading the Visser back to the Bar after all.>

One of Ossanlin's stalk eyes wander across Alic, the other watching Claxter leaving the Mirage.  The young Warrior showed ability to deduce needs and act upon them, but he was as yet quite inexperienced as a soldier...he had more or less disobeyed a direct command to assist with the startup of the Mirage.  A little backbone was good though and Ossanlin wasn't about to stomp it down right after the young Warrior had finally managed to grow it.  He shakes his head ruefully at his comment about Keshin...true, things would be easier without him around, but death was always a last resort, at least in Ossanlin's mind.

Ossanlin nods at Myitt and then pauses.  <I do not carry human supplies...I don't suppose I've ever had the need.  I do carry nutrient packs, they should provide more than enough nutrients for a human to live on, but I don't suppose it would combat the hypothalamal hunger sensation...I understand it is not triggered by nutrient need alone in humans, but by chemical stomach contents and volume as well.  Of course the ramp is down whenever you're ready to come aboard.  I also do not have any...chairs...  I will welcome another pilot and gunner however...the Mirage handles wonderfully, but she is a bit larger than a fighter...she is more easily managed by two.>

Terenia stays on the ceiling, watching the world through multi-fractured eyes. The bar seems to be much emptier than she has ever seen in, and that worries her slightly. She hopes that in the fuss outside no one will notice she's gone missing.

<Staying behind while Ossanlin and the others try to rectify an altered timeline may turn out to be a poor choice,> Efaen comments, <you may be making the situation worse for yourself. Who do you think the Yeerk filth will deliver the intel to?>

<If they fix the timeline it won't matter either way,> Terenia said, <if they don't...well we'll deal with that when it comes, but I won't be any help to them. I'll just get in the way.>

<You have little to no forethought, Terenia.> Efaen comments. Terenia pushes it out of mind, though, for she has just seen some movement below. A body walks down the hall past her and abruptly returns. Curious, Terenia buzzes after the figure, struggling to make her out with compound eyes. The figure enters what appears to be a bathroom and Terenia buzzes back to the ceiling.

<That's Mar,> she realizes, piecing together the images, <and Elayne. I wonder what they're up to...> she settles in to listen.

(I seem to be having problems playing an obedient warrior. I don't really mean for Claxter to be that way, but I guess it can be excused as youthful enthusiasm. and Ossanlin doesn't terrify Claxter like his former Prince did.)

Claxter got no response from Terenia, and returned to the Mirage to help his Prince like he asked earlier. <I don't know where she is, sir. I would think saving her homeworld would get her to come, but perhaps she really just doesn't care. The only Human she cares about is already infested.>

<How exactly may I help you with preparations, my Prince?>

Myitt's voice becomes louder and more recognizable as she walks closer to the controls again, placing a small black case and something that looks like socks into her backpack.

"One thing's for sure," she says.  "We don't have a lot of time to sit here waiting for her.  I want to help her but the situation with Sukohn could affect all of us, and the outcome of this war."  She looks down at the control panel.  "The only thing I can think of that might help is if I can get the Peace Movement to somehow warn these resistance fighters.  Their little organization does have ways of contacting the guerilla fighters, or so they claim.  Hang on, I'll be right there.  I'll bring the proper clearance codes."

She sets the backpack down and spends a few minutes downloading material onto a fresh holodisc, making sure Keshin's is kept well hidden.  For good measure she runs a bioscan of the ship, which comes up clean of any sentients.

On her way out she grabs a box of Wheaties for good measure, and steps outside onto the gravel, sealing the ship securely behind her.

Myitt walks up the ramp of the Apix Mirage and looks around at the access panels to her left and right.  "Okay, now how do I get to the bridge, again?" she murmurs.

<Go straight, and then right,> Tara supplies.  <Your other right.>

In a few moments Myitt steps onto the bridge, backpack slung around her shoulder.  She holds up the holodisc with the access codes for rebel communications on Earth, and the box of Wheaties.

"I come bearing gifts," she says melodramatically, with a grin.

((Kelly, I hope you're doing better today! D: ))

((Actually, I still feel lousy. And I have to write the rest of a paper like this. Not a good scenario. But Roleplaying helps clear my head. :3 I'm gonna have Keshin come to in a couple rounds.))

Mar frowns as he realizes that Elayne was trying to close the door on him. Crappy doors lock by accident easily, and since there's no way Elayne wouldn't know this her action is a little peculiar. Mar then shakes his head a bit. She probably just didn't want to watch me throw up. Though thankfully I don't feel another one coming on yet. ...there are some definite disadvantages to this mortality affair.

Mar then glances off. "...I know of a few other ways that the Timestream can be manipulated. But many of them are tricky and would require the assistance of either another magic user or my true state to manage. If worst comes to worst and they cannot stop the Imperial, I shall try to alter it myself for your sake. My mortal life is effectively worthless no matter what angle you take on me, so this would save you regardless of what happened. I would..." Mar rubs the back of his head, looking embarassed. "...prefer to avoid it if I can, though." He then grasps the glass of water being offered and practically guzzles it down, weird for this guy.

Issid gestured with a diagonal slice to the air as she shook her head. "No, no, don't do that. It's not worth it. And, besides, I'm sure it'll be fine."

<Get him some more water,> Elayne urged.

Issid gave an exasperated sigh. <I know this strange other version of you had a crush on him, but really, I have more important things to worry about. I just need to get what information I can out of him and then get off this rock.>

Elayne said nothing in return, but Issid could feel her intently watching Mar through eyes she did not control.

"I should probably let you rest a while, hm?" Issid asked him, straightening from the sink, letting her arms fall down to her sides. "You probably wouldn't mind putting some space between us so you won't feel so sick anymore."

((Awww, I'm sorry, Kelly! Good luck with your work.))

Mar shakes his head in response to Elayne's last comment, smiling oddly. "Not a chance, my dear. You are either going to be within range of me or within range of another person I can trust. Remember...I have..." Mar coughs again. "...no idea what happened to you as a result of the timeline alteration. Unless Sukohn sold the information to someone very incompetant, something about you may have changed.

And...apparently something has," states Mar, glancing around her back like he's looking for something. "You're a walking temporal anamoly, Elayne. You should rest somewhere in the Bar."

Alic kept the smile on her face until news came Terenia was missing. "That stupid girl is just trouble. I kind of want to kick her ass." Yeah, a good punch to the face would be nice, as if the yeerk would play fair. If Sukhon was already on his way to Earth and could apparently change what has already happened for her future, Alic felt there was no time to spare and they needed to get over there.

"Should we go looking for her?" Alic sighed, annoyed.

Issid could not help but frown. "Well," she murmured, folding her arms across her chest, "if you think it best, Mar, I will. You should rest, too. What do you say we find a booth somewhere, hm?"

<Thinking of sneaking out once he falls asleep?> Elayne murmured. <It might be a while, you know. Maybe he has insomnia, too.>

Issid chuckled internally. <It shouldn't be hard for me to slip some of your medication into his drink. Besides, he's already half out of it.>

The force of Elayne's immediate protest surprised Issid. <No! You're not drugging the poor man! Just leave him alone, alright?>

While the host and Yeerk struggled, Issid's face lost its mask of composure. After a moment, she managed to regain control, although she was breathing a little faster than usual. <I don't know why you want to help him,> Issid hissed to her. <If he is successful, you will be erased, just like his Elayne was.> Foolish humans, she scoffed. It's a wonder they could have ever won the war in another timeline.

((Sorry guys, I have to get dressed and get to work, so no time to post now.  I'll post after I get off.  And no prob. Chad, you should play Claxter however you want, Ossanlin will respond accordingly.  :)  ))

Post Merged: March 10, 2010, 01:02:09 AM
Ossanlin ****s his head as he listens to Myitt close out the conversation.  An interception would be better than trying to play catch-up certainly.  He nods as Myitt cuts the comm.  He looks back to Claxter as he climbs the ramp again.  <Hm?>  He pretends as if he's forgotten about asking for help with starting up the ship...he had really only asked Claxter to help so that he could find out how much the young andalite knew about piloting.  <Oh, yes.  Come up here Warrior, interface with the computer and monitor the warmup sequence.  Make sure the thrusters are primed and align the shield matrix in preparation for z-space travel.  Standard checkoff procedure.  Thank you.>

Ossanlin turns to Myitt and chuckles in spite of himself.  <Wheat...eees?  The name of the product makes it seem as though it's some sort of minute, cross-bred wheat-grain plant.  I don't know what you humans see in such strange marketing practices.>  Ossanlin smirks and chuckles again to show his jest.  <That however...>  Ossanlin nods at the holodisc... <Will be extremely useful.>  He takes the disc from Myitt and gestures to the TO comms station.  <I don't know what kind of message would work, but you're probably the best-qualified in here to compose it...>  He proceeds to the main hardware interface and inserts the holodisc.  He commands the computer to upload the data to the Comms station.  He smiles over at Myitt.  <Ready to go...>

He then turns to look at Alic.  <We have until the Mirage is ready to find her.  If we don't find her by then...well we can't delay here.  Once the ship is ready we leave.  Myitt needs to compose this message...if you wouldn't mind trying to find her Alic...I'm going to place a covert tracer on her bug fighter.  If we have to leave her here, I'll be able to track her from Earth or wherever we end up.  We can intercept her before she goes running back to the Visser to betray Myitt's friend, if that's what it comes to.>  He sighs in a troubled manner... <Depending on her actions, we may have to become more drastic in ours.  I don't want to but if she forces my hand...>  He lets the sentence hang as he moves to one of the energy lockers in the 'common' area and inputs a thought-speak code to deactivate it.  He pulls out a miniscule tracking device designed to transmit z-space pings on a covert frequency.  He begins to trot down the ramp, making his way toward Terenia's ship, remembering its location from the repair that had been made earlier.
