Elayne's eyes slowly narrowed as she listened to Keshin. "Even assuming I knew their identities, if I told you that..." She frowned a little. "We don't know that we're not from the same reality, just seven years apart. If you go after the Yeerk resistance and kill it off, the future would be changed. I'd probably be a Controller, if not dead. I thought we all agreed earlier that the future I come from doesn't sound too awful for the Yeerks; why would you want to go changing that?" Her drink was now unforgotten in her hand as her guard was up, especially as she still could not shake that feeling of paranoia.

((Oh boy... I'm setting Elayne up for forcible infestation, aren't I? haha!))

Keshin smirks. "Then why would you need to mount a resistance protesting against the treatment of Yeerks in your world? You're contradicting yourself. Obviously this war is going to screw us over hard. So you can see why I'd be interested in turning it more in our favor. ....the person you consider your father would obviously have an easier future. Although my intentions aren't quite so noble personally."

Keshin lays back against his chair, grinning. "So are you going to tell me or not? I am a bounty hunter, you know."

(Yeah, I figured Elayne would have to be forcibly infested.)

<I wonder if we should do something about the Imperial here, before we leave.> claxter wondered aloud. <Just to make sure he doesn't cause trouble. Though I'm not sure what to do other than kill him or chase him off.>

"I'm a hypocrite," Elayne grinned back to Keshin. "Even though I lobby for Yeerk rights, I don't want one inside my head." She smirked. "Well, I'm certainly not giving up the information for free, in any case. If I'm going to be potentially obliterated by uttering a simple name, I want to get something out of this. And maybe I should see Mar about that soul thing," she rolled her eyes with a smile.

Terenia shrugs, the conversation with Efaen making her moody, "while we're at it why don't we scour the solar system for any more Imperials. Then we can force them all out of their hosts, pour a vat of salt over them and pat ourselves on the back for doing the universe a favor."

Mercy had fiished off his booze, and was now a little tipsy. He wandered over to the group talking. he stopepd by the one called Elayne, and introduced himself.

"G'day to you. my name's Mercy, a bounty hunter, or mercenary, or something in between." He stuck out his scarred, calloused hand in a greeting.

"And who am I addressing here?"

<That isn't too far from what our people are trying to do to the Empire already. You know, the whole war thing with the Empire trying to take over the galaxy? Basically trying to assimilate all sentient life, and laughing at the futility of their resistance.>

((Um, since I don't want to read over 400 pages of RPing, could someone maybe give me the plot so far in a nutshell?))

(There is no single storyline, but more like a series of small arcs. Right now some of us are trying to help Terenia, while other characters are trying to get information out of Elayne. It can be confusing, but just make a character and send him in. Then see how things unravel for you.)

((Yeah, and Terenia's dad was a trekkie so she'll totally pick up on it ))

Terenia laughs loudly, "Dear God, the Yeerks aren't the Borg, although I always did like the whole 'resistance is futile' catch phrase. Look, you know I'm not exactly thrilled with the Empire, but you guys slice things a bit too black and white for my taste."

She resumes her pacing, looking a bit troubled.

Elayne blinked as Mercy approached them, and she took his hand hesitantly. "Good God, three bounty hunters in one day? Isn't two enough?" She shook his hand then dropped it. "I'm Elayne. And... not to be too rude but we're in the midst of a business transaction here. Mind giving us a minute?"

She looked back to Keshin and Joanne with raised eyebrows, bringing her beer back to her lips with her left hand.

<This is taking too long.> Sukohn thought to himself. <I should have just gone with the direct approach. Now Elayne is looking visibly bothered, and I don't even know how well things are going.>

<Well why don't you just do something? Infest her.> His host said.

<I'll wait a little longer. I wonder what the andalites are up to.>

Keshin raises an eyebrow, smirking at Elayne. "Well well. Looks like the little lady wants to strike a deal with the moral-less bounty hunter. Mmmm..." Keshin leans against the Bar table on his elbows. "So what exactly would you want for this important information of yours? Just keep in mind that we're not rich Vissers or anything. The best payment probably wouldn't be in money, given that we'll do any job you ask for. But if you need that kind of thing, name your price. Just to warn you...I will haggle."
