"Efaen has other options than being a slave to someone who only cares about herself and her sister. Terenia has other options because she can find a voluntary controller. Heck, even her sister might make an ideal host for her. Tamora has other options because she can get transfered away from Visser Sociopath. That will make all three lives better."

(I wonder if it would have been more interesting if slavery was socially accepted and commonplace in Zoshonel's homeworld, instead of illegal. Oh well. Doesn't matter.)

"If Temrash or someone else can get Terenia away from Visser Three and to a saner Visser, maybe this whole thing will start to make more sense," mutters Keshin a bit reluctantly. He never did like giving up his place in an argument, even if he was hardly in a position to have an opinion. "But with the situation as it is, it would cause more problems than it ends. We're meddling in something we've only recently become a part of, and I'm worried about what will happen if you don't know the whole story."

"Will you stop obsessing about me, Mar?" Myitt snaps.  "I'm in no mood for games."

"Yes, it was only a temporary infestation," Corliss concedes, gingerly touching the side of his head, "but I don't even think Terenia enjoys the situation she's in.  She did say this was a punishment she imposed upon herself, it can't last forever.  I wasn't trying to shut Efaen up because she's a bigot, although I hate to say that was tempting.  I simply reached the conclusion, given what we've heard from both of them regarding their situation, that they really do need each other in order to get out of the situation Terenia has put them in.

"Consider our options here: We take Efaen away from Terenia and allow her to work for the Andalite military, and regain her freedom.  This is all well and good, Efaen is free and has a place in the military, albeit one that would never see the sort of battle she apparently seeks.  But Terenia would either be dead or a prisoner of the rebellion, never able to regain a host or return to Earth.  If she were our prisoner, she may be traced to the rebellion through this very bar, and become a serious security threat.  Or someone here, perhaps looking for money, would turn her in to the Empire and effectively kill her and eliminate the Visser's use for her sister, making Tamora much more expendable--and still a Controller.  Two people definitely imprisoned or killed off, for Efaen's freedom to live a life she doesn't really crave--but, still, her freedom nonetheless.  Not to mention the Visser could easily come looking for Efaen and destroy her and Andalite security, as well, if these two really are as valuable to him as they imply.

"Or, we allow Terenia to reinfest Efaen, sacrificing Efaen's freedom, perhaps temporarily while Terenia seeks a way out of their situation.  Terenia is allowed to monitor her sister and free her from Visser Three and her Yeerk Zorish with whatever grand scheme she's envisioned.  Tamora remains brainwashed to serve the Empire, but is alive and free, unless Terenia infests her.  Efaen is hopefully freed, and Terenia is free to help save her planet--which, I assume, would be the goal of a human-turned-Yeerk with no real allegiance to the Yeerk Empire.  Three of them still alive and safe, and the only one imprisoned inside her own head is the one who apparently wants to be."

Corliss glances at Ossanlin.  "I'm not asking you to agree with me, I'm just asking you to follow my train of thought for a moment, before you decide to use that tail of yours like your friend Claxter did."

<At least it was the flat of his blade,> Mike grumbles.  <Jesus.  Even that.  Don't ever go near the backside of an Andalite again, okay mate?>

"The problem I have with your explanation there is that it's possible that Terenia has no intention of doing anything useful at all," states Keshin calmly, sipping again at his drink. "The impression I got from Efaen is that all Terenia wants is to keep her sister alive while trying to convince her out of being voluntary. So in that case, Terenia will not go through with any plan at all and the situation will continue as normal. I'm arguing that both that and the slim possibility that she'll do the right thing are better than pissing off Visser Three and maybe even screwing all of you over."

Mar smirks at Myitt. "For once my desire to return to mortality has nothing to do with you, dear pet. Something is bothering me and I intend to find out what, though mainly because I'm rather bored. My generals are handling my business better than expected, as are my other selves. Most of my incarnations are so terribly predictable. This one was not."

"Are you actually agreeing with me?" Corliss asks wryly.  "You bring up an excellent point, a lot is riding on the theory that Terenia will actually succeed in freeing her sister, sooner rather than later, and intends to work with Efaen."

"So you're going to reincarnate your mortal self, just because you're bored," Myitt repeats, shaking her head.  "Well, I suppose boredom is an acceptable reason for hiding out in this place.  Anyway, there must be many more of you doing more exciting things."

((I can't do anything until either someone talks to Terenia in thought-speak or Efaen wakes up. Speaking of which, I got kind of confused there. Did Claxter remove Efaen to his ship, or is she still unconscious on the floor? That would have a slight impact on what I do next :) ))

"I really don't trust Efaen's fate to someone who doesn't care about her. Even if Terenia gets her sister to safety, I have no reason to believe Terenia would put forth effort to ensure Efaen gets a somewhat happy life. She's in this all for herself and her sister, and she's stated as much. The Andalites are never going to go for that. Not Alic, Oss, or Claxter."

(I don't know if the Mirage is locked up or not, so I can't have Claxter go inside and give her the stuff that will make her less agressive, and some stimulants to wake her up, until Oss comes over. Until then, we'll just say he's got her outside the Mirage.)

Over on Earth, Temrash left Ardiss with his allies and left the planet for Zero space.

(Temrash will make his return in a few more posts.)

((Sorry for the inactivity, now that school has started, I will be on a lot less.

...and I have only a vague idea of what is going on over there.  This table is rather uneveventful. :P))

Gelia puts down her Laratin thoughtfully.  "A rebellion?  The Central Government?  Sounds...exciting?"

If she was accepted, this could be a loophole for her.  Being...banished from her home planet wasn't serving her very well.  She had wandered from place to place, stealing a ship here, pinching some food there.

Gelia was not the most thoughtful and caring person.  It was do or die on her planet.  Serve yourself.  Kill or be killed.  But...this might be something for her to do with her life.  Finally.  Something good.  Granted it was a little odd to be fighting for a rebellion she had almost never heard of, but she had nowhere else to go, really.

((WOOT! 18 pages! Wow. I've been gone far too long! Sorry guys I was out of town, and my step-family is very encompassing.))

(Parker)

After Parker followed Zoshonel in the bar with Terenia in the tupperware, he kept out of the following conversations and scuffles. Once he heard the rest of Terenia's secrets, he no longer could trust anything she "said". She became far too shady and secretive for him to help anymore. He took a seat at the bar and just watched the show. Whenever a firearm was withdrawn, he sat up and drew Battle Rifle, but only as defence. As soon as tensions settled, he put his weapon away and sat back again. Even though he wasn't part of the goings-on, he still felt the situation was too dangerous to remove his helmet. Which was regretable, because he was starting to get thirsty.

When the two newcomers joined the bar, Parker took note of them, but didn't want to chance taking his eyes off of the drama. Gaz had returned, and Morgan shared the story of his family's reunion. Parker smiled to himself when Morgan displayed Thor's holographic projection. Others came back from their trip, and Parker took note, while keeping watch on the conflict before him.

(Thordon)

While still in Z-Space, Thordon began meditating to help take in all of the information he had experienced. His trance grew to such depths, that even reentering space and landing did not rouse him. He continues his meditation.

((Wow, so it's only me so far today. Awww, people have lives! D: ))

"It's not really only because of boredom. I could be doing something less ridiculous," mutters Mar, rolling his eyes. "But the incarnation here somehow managed to do something that none of my incarnations have ever accomplished gracefully. And I want to know how it was done. My mind interprets the gesture as useless, but he didn't seem to think so. And thinking it is meaningless tends to come and bite me in the buttocks later."

(Waiting for Oss to post so Claxter can do something with Efaen. And also relay Zoshonel's message about Temrash offering help in transferring Tamora if Alic doesn't post about it. Though I suppose Myitt and Corliss could go into the pool themselves and talk Yeerkish to her. I don't want Zoshonel to put her back inside his head just to say that, since Temrash justifyably said to never do that again.)

((Oh, duh.  That's a good idea.))

Corliss sighs, drumming his fingertips on the bar counter and staring at the little tupperware pool.

"Alright, someone needs to talk to her," he says, moving down the bar counter and dragging a seat in front of the pool.

"And that's going to be...you, is it?" Myitt demands.

"You want to talk to her?" Corliss replies gratingly, sitting down.

"Not really," Myitt says with a little laugh.  She lowers her Dracon but doesn't put it away.  "Okay.  Go see what this human-Yeerk chick has to say.  Although I still wouldn't believe her until we get a full memory dump going in here."

"I'll take my chances, for now," Corliss says, cringing as he turns his sore head and neck.  He closes his eyes and disengages from Mike's head.  In a few moments he lands in the cramped little pool with a splash.

Mike sways a bit in the chair, stabilizing himself much like Corliss had done by grabbing the edge of the bar counter.  Slowly he opens his eyes.

"Oh, Christ this sucks," he murmurs weakly, holding his head in his hands and wondering with a start just how hard Claxter had hit him.  Pain which had been dulled a bit by Corliss' presence was now radiating through the side of his head.  He still felt clearheaded, but it was very uncomfortable.

In the pool, Corliss practically bumps into Terenia as he melts back into his normal sluglike shape.

<It's cold in here,> he remarks ultrasonically.  <The Kandrona's weak, too.  Hmm.  Sorry about that, it's been running a long time.>  He pauses.  <I'm sure you can guess that they're all trying to figure out what to do with you and Efaen.  Most of them can't stand seeing Efaen infested again against her will.  I tried putting you both back together and got a nice big smack to Mike's face with the side of Claxter's tailblade.  We're just lucky it wasn't worse than that.  They all need to know if you're planning on making Efaen's infestation as temporary as possible, essentially, and that you'll ensure Efaen has a free and acceptable future.>

<<I'm getting kind of sick of them sticking their hooves, tails, wings and other assorted bodyparts into my business,>> Terenia responds, using private thought-speak instead of ultrasonic clicks, <<They would rather have Efaen dead than infested? That's stupid. Besides, she isn't as vehemently against this whole thing as she pretends to be. She knows that I'm her best bet at getting close to the Yeerks, she just won't admit it to the Andalites,>> she pauses, struck by a sudden revelation.

<<Of course! Efaen won't admit it because she is too proud, but it's so simple to see it when you are in her head. She'd do damn well anything to get close to the Yeerks - even live with me. They won't believe me, though, they think I'm some sort of monster. But you could tell them! You or...or that sister of yours, or the bounty hunter. Maybe if another Yeerk got in her head and saw her true intentions...a Yeerk they actually trust...>> she peters off at the end, the excitement in her voice fading as she realizes what a long shot it is. What Andalite would trust a Yeerk?

<<Frankly, I'm just getting bored with the whole situation,>> Terenia sighs, <<and Efaen's twisted brain is about as close to any home as I've got right now.>>

Temrash finally made it ou of Z-Space and found a spot to land. He entered the bar and took a look around to greet his allies.

"Hey everyone! I'm back! Who missed me? Don't everyone rush over at one time. Bartender, I can see you're speechless with emotion over my return. I'm touched."

The bartender rolled his eyes and continued doing what he always did.

"He Temrash. Welcome back." Zoshonel said.

"Hi Zoshonel. I brought you a sovenier. It's meat from a farm animal. I think they called them cows. Cooked with various seasonings."

"Thanks!"

<Yes, go ahead and tell them to take me out of the pool and place me into Efaen's head,> says Corliss flatly.  <I'm sure that will go over just as well as it did before, when I tried it with you.  I don't have a better plan, and I believe Michael will agree to helping us do it, although he probably won't want to die for it.  Ossanlin doesn't seem to trust me as he once did.  It's just as dangerous for Myitt, although her opinion will be stronger with the Andalites, and I doubt any of us will really trust Keshin.>  He pauses.  <If you want, you can ask them what they think.>

Outside of the pool, Mike winces at the doorway.  "Hi, um...wossit...Temra sh, then?  Mike Leicester.  Pleased to meetcha finally."

"Hi, Temrash," says Myitt, totally distracted by the situation in the pool.
