<She is back on the ship with Parker and Zoshonel, I suppose.>

(Parker hasn't posted yet. I guess I'll have Zoshonel come in with her with Parker following behind.)

As if on cue, Zoshonel came in with a container. "Hey guys." He said and took the container to the bar. He set it down on the end, out of the way of everything else.

((I'm going to wait for someone else to post before I do, so that it doesn't just end up being back and forth between me and one other person or whatever. :) We haven't heard from Alic or Parker in awhile...))

((Sorry, I tried to post earlier today but RAF and my computer weren't getting along for some reason.  I saved my post and thusly the copy of it resideth below.))

Ossanlin nods.  <So she's not loyal to the Empire or the Abomination as so many like to call him.  She's loyal to her sister.  I can understand some mental trauma, most humans don't believe in extra-terrestrial life, but she's been thrown into it in a way that many couldn't even imagine.  The one thing she's holding onto...is her sister.  In a way, her sister is her last true grip on reality.>  Ossanlin shakes his head.

<On the other subject, if you were truly only a ceremony away from promotion, I should think that a ceremony is all that's necessary.  Aside from frittering out any information you might have regarding Visser 3's plans and movements...and determining where your true allegience lies.>  Ossanlin's main eyes flash to the tub holding Terenia for a moment, noting Efaen's attitude toward possible harm coming to the human-Yeerk nothlit.

<My allegiance lies with those who will best help me destroy the Yeerk filth,> Efaen says, <They are a threat to the Andalite people, and a plague to the galaxy. Terenia's sanity, or lack thereof, has nothing to do with me. I only ask that you do not destroy her on the premise of being a Yeerk, as that is not what she truly is.> Hey stalk eyes flicker to the tupperware, a flash of concern crossing her face. She knows that Terenia is a possible escape route, should the other Andalites decide that she is not worthy of fighting the Yeerks.

<Tell me, Prince Ossanlin, if I were to undergo the ceremony and receive warrior status, what is to prevent the Prince's from shoving me to the side, assigning me ship duty, while others take on the glory of destroying the plague.> She keeps her tone carefully respectful, not wanting to offend the only Prince around, but also not wanting to back down and act like some eager aristh.

<You would rather be on the battlefield instead of stuck at a computer or nursing the wounded in sickbay. I know the feeling. I probably could have studied to be a tactical officer and stayed on a Domeship bridge for most of my career, but I wanted to be on the front lines where it was most exciting. And then I found out that people on the front lines tend to see the worst that war has to offer.> Claxter said, making idle chat. Of course he couldn't do much to ensure that she would be assigned the post that she wanted.

Efaen laughs a bit, <Claxter, with all due respect, I have been living under the tyranny of Visser Three for the past five years. I doubt war has anything to offer that is worse than that.>

<Yes, you're probably right. What I went through probably pales in comparisn to what you or other people have gone through.> He said with an embarrassed look.

Efaen looks a bit uncomfortable, <I apologize. I did not mean to belittle your experiences. It has been...a long time since I was able to interact with my own kind. You will have to forgive me if I come across a bit harsh.>

Corliss looks in with relief as Terenia is brought back into the bar.  He ignores Efaen's obvious racism and turns to her, curious.

"You're so eager to experience war," he marvels.  "It's been a long time since I looked forward to battle.  I cannot imagine the pain you've undergone in the grip of Visser Three, but I can assure you, war is not the glorious achievement any of us were led to believe."

<It is quite all right. There is much glory and honor in fighting for freedom and such, but the officials like to emphasize the good stuff and neglect to go over the harshness and trauma of what soldiers go through. You could probably hear two people talk about the same battle with very different viewpoints according to how close to the action each person is. Whether it's a Prince commanding troops in the middle of a battlefield, or a TO looking at a holoscreen full of dots and such in the safety of a command center.

<I am not in this war for glory,> Efaen says haughtily, <I am in this war to remove your kind from the galaxy. I have no doubt that war is gruesome and mentally taxing, however sometimes it is worth it if it means securing the freedom of others.>

She looks at Claxter, <You understand, of course? What it is we are truly fighting for?>

<We are fighting against the slavery of sentient life. Though if you had asked me that a few days ago I would have said killing all Yeerks. Heh heh.>

"rrrI thought you rrrrAndy-rites werrre above this," Puk spits, fixing his goggled glare on Efaen. "rrrI thought you werrre.." He shakes his head. "The brrrrrain someone keeps theirrrr thoughts in shouldn't rrrr be a death sentence."

((Terenia, I realized this is the second character of yours that Puk has picked a bone with- sorry about that. It's nothing personal, it's totally Puk's fault.  :P))

<What do you mean, Puk? Above what?>

(I'm not sure what Puk is saying, so Claxter wouldn't know either.)
