<Of course. We'll help you get to the bar.> Claxter said. The awkwardness was returning to his voice, from being so close to a girl. She had been focusing on him, and he felt like he didn't want to pass her on to Zoshonel.

<Uh, I guess you and Parker can handle Terenia, Zoshonel.>

"Sure thing loverboy."

<What? Hey! You-you just focus on the main thing here.>

Zoshonel just smiled and turned to Parker to help him. Claxter guided Efaen out the door where he saw Alic and greeted her.

Efaen glances at Parker, the one who had helped Terenia, and Zoshonel, who seems to do only what Claxter tells him. She shakes her head almost imperceptibly, a human gesture that she inherited from Terenia.

<No,> she says, addressing Claxter once more, <You are an Andalite warrior, it is fitting that you are the one that takes me to my Prince. This bar is laden with filth and traitors from across the galaxy, and I would prefer not to leave my own kind for the moment. You seem to have a readier grasp on what is necessary and what is not than some others here. You will escort me.>

"It might be a little bit of each," Morgan said, "but they're tough. Similar background to myself, on the run from the agents of the Central Government."

<I'm certain Prince ossanlin would also like to speak with you.> Claxter said as he brought her to the bar. Once he was before Ossanlin, he said what had happened.

<I managed to get inside the ship and free Efaen. she wants to talk with you.> <<She is a bit leery of the others, as expected. She does not have as open a mind as you do concerning the Yeerks.>> <Terenia is still in the ship, and I am certain Parker will take care of her. He is more concerned for her and her sister than Efaen's wellbeing, which I suppose is because he is Human too. Albiet from another universe. In his logic I guess the needs of many outweigh the needs of few, even though there are to people beng kept as slaves and one who chooses to work for the Empire to prolong that enslavement.>

Ossanlin looks to the bar entrance as Claxter and Efaen enter.  He smiles tightly with this eyes and nods to Claxter after he finishes speaking.  <You have done well Warrior Claxter, you did what had to be done given the circumstances.  You are to be commended.  There is much honor in freeing an Andalite from Yeerk control.  This will bode very well with the Electorate.>  Ossanlin switches to private thought-speech for Claxter alone.  <<You have done very well indeed.  You may be closer to being a Prince than you suspect.>>

Ossanlin switches back to broadband thought-speech and does the equivalent of a formal Andalite bow.  <An honor to meet you Warrior Efaen.  I'm very glad to have you with us again.  I am War-Prince Ossanlin-Rethin-Sephirel, Captain of the Dome Ship Tyrennian.  Would you like something to drink?  We can provide water or fermented grass if you desire.>  Ossanlin allows the formality to return to his thought as he addresses Efaen, she would most-likely be expecting that.

"Ah, I understand." she smiled. She went back to the bar and sat down, ordered up another drink in her native language that she grew up with again.

Efaen returns the slight bow to Ossanlin, her main eyes never leaving him.

<No, I am not hungry.> Efaen says. <I have heard much of you, Prince Ossanlin. You are spoken of highly among the ranks, although I was never aware of your...unorthodox company,> her stalk eyes trail to where Corliss and Joanne are seated. <I suppose I must thank you, and Claxter as well, for providing me with my freedom. It was, of course, the honorable thing to do.>

Claxter beamed when Ossanlin said he might not be far from becoming a Prince.

<You are very welcome. I am curious how you got captured, if you don't mind me asking. I suppose it's the worst nightmare of any andalite to be infested. I'd rather be eaten alive by Taxxons from the tail up.>

Keshin returns Efaen's derogatory look with a kind of "Nyeh nyeh" look of his own. He's never been exactly fond of the prissy Andalite overlords of the galaxy.

<Yeh, they seem a might bit stuck up to me too, Kess.>

<We'll have to see how this goes. Considering that she's been infested for years, I'm not sure what she'll make of the rest of us. Be on your guard and don't say anything stupid.>

<Ye'll know before I try, Kess.>

<True.>

Morgan sat back down and pulled out his computer pad.

"Well," he said, "while we're waiting for Gaz to arrive. Might as well see if there are any jobs available. Get a message to Cortex, he always knows those things."

Corliss gives Efaen a little wave of his bandaged hand, and grins.

<Well, this'll be interesting, mate,> Mike says quietly.

<Hmm, we'll see then, won't we?>

Ossanlin shoots a quick glance over to Claxter before returning his main eyes to Efaen.  <Indeed I think we are all curious as to many facets of your current circumstances and how you came to be here, but if you wish to relax a bit before answering questions, that is quite understandable.>

Ossanlin glances over at Corliss and Keshin with his main eyes for a moment before again returning them to Efaen.  <Not all are friends necessarily.  The Electorate tolerates my...relationship.. .with my friends because I get results.  It's hard to get past the propaganda...but once you do, you'll find that some Yeerks aren't all that different than ourselves...and some aspire to the same goals that we do.>

Efaen's nostrils flare, and she struggles to keep her thought-speak respectful. <Yeerks are Yeerks,> she says coldly, <With all due respect, Prince Ossanlin, perhaps it is their propaganda that is swaying you? How can you be sure of their true intentions?>

She takes a moment to breathe deeply, calming herself, before addressing the question regarding her infestation. <I do not need to relax, thank you. There is little time these days for rest. Unless you forgot that there is war brewing throughout the galaxy?> She scuffs her hoof on the floor, as if to demonstrate her eagerness to be playing a part in the war rather than relaxing in a bar.

<I was at the end of my training as an aristh when it happened. In fact, the next day was to be the promotion ceremony, when I would be entitled to the rank of Warrior. It had not been easy. The military may have opened itself to females, but they are hardly accepting,> She gave both Ossanlin and Claxter a fierce glare, as if daring them to denounce her based on her gender.
