Terenia shifts uncomfortably. She is unsure how much of Fox's tale she believes, or whether it matters if it is true or not. Silently, she sends a command to the computer on her ship to reseal the fighter and secure all stations. The hatch closes in response.

<Perhaps we should be going back to the bar?> Terenia suggests, <If we are going to have negotiations of this magnitude I'd like to do so with the option of a stiff drink if things go awry.>

"Yes, I reckon that's a good idea," says Corliss, heading toward the bar.  A chill runs through him.  "Fox, I cannot impress upon you how important this is: You must never allow this technology to travel between galaxies to get in the hands of the Yeerk Empire."  He irritably pushes open the door to the bar, still quite chilled despite the relative warmth of the building.  He walks over to the bartender and leans on the counter.  "Barkeep, redin, please.  Leave the bottle."  He sits down and sighs, rubbing his face wearily.

"Havin a rough time?" Morgan asks Corliss.

Asda was still sipping at her coffee. The other set of hands was holding her computer.

<Perhaps we could go inside. I suppose I might need to morph in order to enjoy the beverages better.> He began morphing, and when he was done his looked like an orange haired gorrilla with a thick tail and four eyes. <This creature has good taste sensation. It is fun using it. We morphed it to better get to a location under cover before the big battle. I was heavily injured in it, but luckily demorphing heals wounds. The physical ones, anyway.>

<That is an interesting creature,> Terenia notes, looking at Claxter's morph, <a bit unsettling. It reminds me of an animal from Earth, a bit. What is it?>

Terenia follows Corliss, listening intently. She hadn't even considered the prospect of the technology falling in Empire hands. Per usual, her lack of attention to detail had almost left her in the dust. At least now she had yet another reason to stay, one that her commander would certainly find worthy. Hopefully. If he believed her. Which meant she needed to bring back proof.

She enters the bar and finds a place to stand near Corliss, hoping the others will congregate similarly close. She wants to keep a ready ear on the congregation, reminding herself to listen and not speak. Opening her mouth - so to speak - tended to get her into trouble.

Fox said to Corliss while they were walking into the bar: "You don't need to worry about anything. Their's one thing that can warp and one toad that invented it."

Fox entered the bar and noticed a couple of pirates and said: "Hi. How are you?"

Then he looked at the bartender and said: "I'll have some water."

"I'm doing fine," Morgan replied. "Morgan's the name. Captain of The Cursed Pride. This is Asda, ship's doctor."

Asda waved one of her four hands. "Nice to meet you."

Corliss barely registers that Claxter has morphed, pouring a glass of viscous greyish-red liquor and just looking at it, swirling it around.

"Yes, it's been a very, very long couple of days, mate," Corliss replies to the minotaur.  He hears Terenia clip clop up to the bar, stopping nearby, and he wonders just what her allegiances are.  Glancing at her, he smiles and asks, "Reckon your boss would be interested in that Fox fellow's bit of technology, eh?  I know my people would, but perhaps for different reasons."  He stares down at the drink, unsure if he really wants to have his senses dulled at the moment.  His host Mike was exhausted, and he was starting to feel the disorienting edge of his own hunger.

But honestly, it had been a very long couple of days.  He shrugs and swallows the shot of liquid, coughing a little.  He squints at Fox.  "What do you mean, one thing that can warp?  Warp extremely long distances, I assume.  One type of technology?"

<It is called a Borak.> Claxter said. He ordered some fruit juice, and paid the bartender. He sat in a seat and enjoyed his drink. <The Borak enjoy various foods. The instincts are not hard to control, as the adults have few natural predators.>

Fox picks up his water and sips at it. He looks at Morgan and Asda and shakes their hand firmly. After the handshake he looks at Corliss and says: "I'm saying nothing more." He sits down and coninues to sip his water.

Keshin wanders into the Bar among the others, having switched with Joanne and listened to Fox's conversation.

<A situation like this calls for a diplomatic edge, not brute force.>

<Kess, I don' like 'im. He seems weird ta me.>

<We don't know for sure. We don't even know if he's telling the truth about this technology of his. But we're going to find out, you and me.>

Keshin then sits on a Bar stool and glances towards Terenia. "It's interesting that you're so secretive about your motives and who you are, and yet they all slowly seem to be trusting you. Why exactly does someone hide even the basics of their current situation, anyway? Knowing that Myitt's a rebel isn't compromising here, and knowing that I'm a bounty hunter can be useful. "

Corliss shrugs.  "Fine, mate, suit yourself.  But don't say I didn't warn you."  He refills his shot glass and looks over at Joanne/Keshin as they step up to the bar.

"And here I thought I'd hurt your feelings," he says slyly, waving the bartender over.  "When was the last time you had redin?  Were you even born on the homeworld, Keshin?  It was a dangerous game, swimming in distilled liquid.  Much better this way, although not much safer."  He laughs quietly, handing another shot glass to Keshin.  "As for Terenia, she has the right to be quiet about her background.  After all, not everyone in here pops up immediately on your little hit list.  To be honest it sort of weirds me out, letting it go round that in some circles I am considered a dangerous terrorist."  He shrugs and lightly sips the tiny glass, not wanting to down the whole thing.

Keshin shakes his head with a bit of a grin. "No. I'm not quite as much of an old timer as you, Corliss. And we can't drink for fear of worsening our numerous health problems. But as for Terenia... she does have the right, but it does strike me as a bit off. Everyone else I have met here has at least begun with name and profession due to the open atmosphere. Hmn...I suppose I'll have to wait to find out, if I ever do at all. We all still have our share of secrets."

Keshin winks. "And hey, I think it's cool that you're known as a dangerous terrorist. It makes it that much easier to find you."

Corliss laughs again.  "Oh, Keshin, you most definitely did not meet Myitt for the first time in this place," he says with a smug smile.  "She is always so terse and angsty about her line of work, especially around strangers, it amuses me to no end.  But perhaps she's all the wiser for it.  I'm sorry you can't try some of this, there are really no other places besides the homeworld that I know can supply something like redin.  No matter.  Wouldn't want you to be any less than on top of your game, eh?"  He raises the shot glass in a little toast and drinks the rest of it, setting it down.  This wasn't so great--now Mike was exhausted, running on empty, and slightly buzzed.  And he'd be damned if he was going to try and feed, alone with just Mike to stand guard, while Keshin was around.  Mike could handle himself well enough, but he didn't want Mike hurt on his account.  Especially while he could do nothing about it.

At Keshin's last comment he looks up at him.  "Well, just remember for future reference, it makes us that much harder to kill."
