"On which side of the war?" Corliss asks, crossing his arms.  "And how do we know we can trust him?"

"His company is full of mercenaries, so I'd say whoever pays most. But if you buy him for the resistance before he contacts anyone else, you probably won't have to worry about it. Again, he could be a confidence man just pretending to represent a mercenary company. We can't know for sure."

While Fox is waiting for an answer he overhears Parker say that his company is for hire only. He looks over his right shoulder and says in a very serious voice: "Excuse you Parker but I'm offering my General's troops. My employeer is offering his services for nothing and I said my team is for hire only."

"And just who, exactly, is your employer?" Corliss asks Fox.

"Currency or not, you are for hire; and there are three sides to this two-goal war. Two sides, of which, are represented here.

"So you're saying only your team is for hire, so you'd leave your company just to fight some war you have no idea what its over; or which side you're offering your services to?"

Fox looks directly at Corliss and says in a serious tone: "My employer is General Peppy Hare of the Cornerian Defense Forces." Fox turns quite normally and looks at Parker then he says in a regular subtle tone: "Parker. I cam here at the orders of General Peppy and told to do minor surveilance work." He then walks back to his Arwing and ontinues: "I contacted General eppy and he asked if I need help. He left it in the air so for your question Parker. I work for who I can trust."

"Ah, so your General just gives his full resources to a pilot mercenary with a presumably lower rank than his own? Yeah, this sounds more and more like a con game. The next thing you know, he's asking for a wire transfer."

<Perhaps it is best not to get yourself or your kind involved in a war so quickly,> Terenia says to Fox, still a bit frosty with him, <especially a war you know nothing about. No matter which side you choose to be on, you are sure to ruffle feathers.

<<I don't trust him,>> Terenia says to Claxter, <<Parker is right, there is something wrong about this. I've been deceived enough times in my life to recognize when someone is up to no good. I wonder what his angle is...>>

<<It rubs me the wrong way too. Prince Fasool once told me that sometimes it's best to keep closer tabs on people you don't like than the people you do. I think that may be useful to do.>> He also directed his speech towards Prince Ossanlin as well, to put him in the loop.

"And I accept the help of those whom I trust," Corliss replies testily.  "I'm sorry Mr. McCloud, but I think you have no idea what you'd be getting yourself into.  Tell your General that."

Fox looks at the crowd with no emotion on his face or body. He then scrugs his left shoulder and says: "Ok. That's fine. I'll contact the General with your decision." Fox turns around, watching the others out of th corner of his eye, and enters his Arwing. "General Peppy. Come in." "Yes Fox." "They're answer is no." "I figured they would. Watch your back Fox." "Yes General. Fox out." After this Fox looks down and sees his fathers* dogtags and puts them on, showing part of the chain but putting the dogtags thmselves under his shirt. He leaves his Arwing and looks at everyone.

*Foxes father: name James McCloud, former leader of Team Star Fox and father of Fox McCloud. He was betrayed by a close associate and comrade and was prononced dead.

Corliss watches Fox cautiously.  "Why are you really here?" he asks.

"Security. Right now Cornelia is safe and were tightening up our scurity to other galaxies that my be considered a "threat." This galaxy is closest to ours." He looks at everyone and "fells" the tension so he moves to an angle where he can easily see everyone and get to his Arwing.

"And why would the beings of this galaxy be a threat to those in yours?" Corliss asks, trying to be as polite as he can.  "No race I'm aware of has yet developed the technology to travel from one galaxy to another.  The journey would take hundreds, thousands of years, even in zero-space."

Fox looked shocked that no one had the capability to warp time. "Well we have an inventor named Slippy Toad that made it possible to do this. We were attacked 8 years ago by a group called the aparoids. We lost" Fox looks down and skaes his head. "An entire race except two people."
