Breekan scratches his chin. "By my last recollection, we're in the 3rd MegaEpoch of 'Lord Crayak's Glorious Reign,' 463rd Demicycle, in the laser-sight of the Blood-Feaster Constellation, 8964th Crystalline Form, 210 degrees within the 182nd Dark Blink." He clears his throat. "Also, what's a year?"

He smiles at Thordon. "Sorry! I didn't speak very clearly- I was talking about the Time Machine. I'm sure you're perfectly avatar-ish; if someone like you were to exist, chances are you'd find your way here if you'd find your way anywhere."

"I've never been to Earth. I hear it houses six or seven billion Humans, which made me originally think they were rodents or some other highly prolific species. But the invasion is run by Visser Three, who embodies everything that is wrong with the Empire, and his host Alloran who my host dispises more than anything in the galaxy. I'd actually like to go there, if Visser Three were away for a week or so. Though I suppose now that I'm against the Empire I have no reason not to go there and deal with the both of them. I have heard some propaganda stated by Visser One that Visser Three allowed some Hork Bajir to escape, and that they've started a resistance. Highly improbable, though."

"The Boston Red Sox.  It's a very frustrating baseball team from Earth.  Baseball is a game," Myitt explains.  She makes a face at Breekan.  "A year is a planet's revolution around its star, numbskull.  A bit less complicated than all of those numbers.  And I usually like numbers."

To Temrash she adds, "I've heard rumors about that, too.  Some of the Peace Movement members there have been making the same sort of claims, but I've never seen it.  I don't go to Earth very often, myself, for pretty much the same reason as you: Visser Three, and it's just generally such an Imperial hot spot.  But it's nice to make a supermarket run once in a while."  She pauses, then decides to clarify.  "For obtaining hard-to-get human foods."

Breekan crinkles his nose. "You base your chronology off of just one planet? How the hell do you know which one to choose?" he shakes his head. "And how do you check up on how long it takes; do you just watch it for a while? What if something happens to throw off its orbit?" he shakes his head. "Basing your calendar on the ever-blinking eye of Crayak ain't exactly pretty, but at least it's consistent."

"Well, technically I grew up basing my sense of time on another system entirely, under which it's actually Generation 722," says Myitt.  "But when equated into human years, it's 2003.  Time in our universe is generally pretty straightforward, orbits pretty stable.  And the humans have an atomic clock, which sounds like fun."

Mar chuckles upon hearing about how Breekan measures time. "Most servants of a Higher being use that being's mass or central body to measure time, along with the being's rough location if it's possible to determine that. It's probably quite accurate, but it also shows how big of an ego Crayak has."

Mar thinks for a moment and says with some confusion, "I...haven't measured time natively for millions of years on Earth. I usually use whatever system the place I'm in is using. I know that I was born during the Sixth Quarter, and I know that I rebelled during the Twenty-Fifth on the third revolution of the Column for that quarter. After that, my sense of Time has become extremely vague. It has no doubt been at least five whole Moments since that time."

In response to the guy with a German accent, he looked him once over before deciding that since he wasn't in the 3rd Reich's uniform, he guessed that this guy wasn't a Nazi.

"Well, Mar. The names John Cutter. Corporal of the USMC 2nd Pilots Brigade." He still didn't trust this guy. There could be Nazi spies anywhere, although he had no clue that he was in the future from where he came from.

"I got a question for you. Where am I, and where the hell is the Space Bar that everyone keeps referring to?"

<Time...such a confusing thing, and mutable.  A fourth dimension which one can travel beyond if he has the means, though it can have some messy side-effects without those proper means.  I think that one of the most logical ways to base time is upon the decay of radioactive elements.  Those are measures that are constant throughout the Universe as much as we know...unless you happen to live inside a black hole, but that's a bit beyond standard comprehension.>

Ossanlin glances at Breek.  <If you truly want to base time off of Crayak, fine, but you don't have to call it his Glorius Reign.>  Ossanlin chuckles.  <That's just a tad bit presumptuous on his part I would say.>  Ossanlin shrugs a bit.  <To each his own as is always the case.  And it shouldn't be any other way.>

"Kid," said Morgan, "you're in the Space Bar."

Gaz nodded and raised her glass before taking a sip of rum.

"It's a part of the spiel, it's easy to lose track otherwise." Breekan shrugs. "Besides, while I'm far from being a fan it certainly is impressive. The guy can make it so that whole planets never existed if he feels like it. It's not fun, but it's sort of an accomplishment."

((I won't be able to post much over the next week, so Zombie will have less pressure, and Thordon will just be contented with listening and learning. I'm going out of town for the next week and some of the places don't have Internet.

This is my 7000th post! :woot:))

Mar gestures calmly about him and states to the Air Force pilot, "As the pirates mentioned, this location here is the Space Bar. You can order almost any kind of food or drink from the black-haired man over there." Mar points to the bartender.

"We come from a wide variety of locations and have a laundry list of quirks. Ask me or anyone else here whatever you wish to know."

(Alic: I forget when you last posted, asking what was going on. Not a whole lot, if you already know about Thordon. Except that Myitt and Temrash started talking about Earth, and Temrash said he might like to go there and deal with Visser Three and alloran, since he doesn't have to worry about losing any military position. Also the free Hork-Bajir Valley came up. That might actually be a nice plot, if Myitt Ardiss and Temrash go to Earth.)

((That sounds fun. :3 I'd love to hear how that would go, particularly if they're connected to the Space Bar. ))
