(I read in TV tropes and Idioms that laser weapons don't automatically cautarize wounds when they hit. They can be as messy as anything else. But it's different in the media. Animorphs book 9, for instance.)

(Wasn't it said the weapon was a lightsaber?)

(( *shrug*  It appeared that Qui Gon didn't bleed when Maul impaled him...nor did it appear that Anakin was bleeding when Tyrannus removed his forearm, or when Obi-Wan removed his legs...I can see your point about blasters...all the energy is released on impact which can cause explosive or concussive results with the superheating of tissues and then quick removal of said heat.  I would say it depends on how long the lightsaber is against bleeding tissue.  It's a constant heat applied generally for a longer period of time than the quick heat of a blaster.  If anything else, we can always use Mr. Lucas's answer for everything...it was The Force.  :p ))

((Lightsabers have always cautarized wounds. It most likely has to do with the focusing crystals. Blaster lasers are created differently than lightsaber lasers. Besides, TV tropes was talking in general, I'm sure, not Star Wars specific.))

"Do you have his phone number?" Myitt asks Mar dryly.

Corliss mumbles something incoherent and shifts his head off of his arm, knocking a couple of empty glasses over in the process.  The bartender wordlessly picks them up and starts drying them eagerly.

Corliss just keeps snoozing.

((Haha...I love TV Tropes.  Haven't been there in a while.  Biggest time sink evarrr, but so much fun.  I actually wrote a line in The Puppet Masters (or maybe it was the Glowing Eyes of Doom?) section about The Host by Stephenie Meyer, because I am just that nerdy  ::)  ))

((X3 Stephanie Meyer. People on this forum might have varying opinions on her, but I still think The Host could've been much cooler than it really was. Instead it was Alien Parasite 90210, as Myitt'd say! XD ))

Mar snickers at the sleeping Corliss and pokes his head, chuckling. "He's almost cute in this position. As for whether I'd have his phone number, don't be stupid. I...suppose I know a way that you could contact his subordinates, but the passage isn't exactly supposed to be used by mortals. It's neutral ground, which means no one can fight on that spot. To be honest though, the meetings are usually planned."

Mar smirks. "I can't believe I'm even entertaining the thought of helping you escape my grasp. You know I'd never actually do so, don't you?"

<I think I may need to keep an eye on Mar.> Temrash said to himself after Mar's last statement. He was looking purposefully at Mar, but made no sound. Though he still wasn't sure if he had enough power and resources to do anything about Mar. It wasn't like he was pals with any cosmic beings, though he had proven to certain people that he was capable of more than what they thought he could do.

An odd sensation strikes Mar's aura-sense from behind him and he turns around in his seat. Perhaps it's his own paranoia shaking him up, but he could almost swear that Temrash is looking straight at him. How odd. I never took the mortal into any particular account.

Mar attempts prying into Temrash's mind briefly. He finds to his shock that Temrash has rather strong mental defenses, despite being obviously not well-versed in anything resembling a mind-block. Mar backs out quite quickly, as he has no desire to be too conspicuous. With any luck Temrash will have misinterpreted his entry as a bizarre fluctuation of his own mind, as is usually the case. An aura of darkness is quite common in small dosages deep in most individuals, although in some this is quite repressed.

Mar smiles oddly to himself. Hmm. The individuals who flock here are quite different from the usual mindless fodder I deal with. It will be fun to see how far I can go before I'm stopped by one person or another.

Temrash felt some kind of sensation, though he didn't know what it was. Maybe he was starting to feel selfconscious about staring at someone, as many feel staring to be rude. Instead, he let his gaze wander around the bar. He noticed Asmodee get up to leave. Perhaps he was going home. He wondered if he should speak to Oss about Mar. Oss was an older friend of Myitt, and there was definitely something different about him. He knew Oss was fighting, though, so maybe after the battle.

Mar smiles a bit, noting Temrash's expression and then turning back to Myitt. Good. I wouldn't want any conflict right now.

Mar grins at Myitt and states, "According to the bartender, you've racked up quite a tab. How did you find a place like this, anyway? The only reason I found it was because I was tracking your aura."

"Well, how do I get to plan a meeting?" says Myitt with a grin.

Corliss wakes up with a start.  "Whuh...Christ..." He rubs his eyes and looks around blearily.  "****ing dreams, man," he murmurs, pulling out a nondescript package of gum and chomping on a piece.

Myitt glances at Corliss.  "Good morning, sunshine,"  she says dully.  She looks back at Mar.  "Yeah, I found this place quite by accident, actually.  It was in the earliest days of my little incursion with the Empire, cruising around real space, and I remember thinking one day that I really needed a drink.  Not just a drink, but a place to go that wasn't Earth and wasn't the base, which back then was even more of a dump.  And then this place appeared, like it was suddenly tacked onto my star charts.  Labeled and everything.  It's not every day a star chart sends you advertisements for a bar in space, so naturally I was suspicious.  But I've been able to get here ever since, and I'll be damned if I'd ever heard of this planet or its moon, or even this system before that point."
