Fading in and out of consciousness since the crash, he could have sworn he heard someone punch in the ****pit canopy window and then pull him out. Mumbling a “Wha...” before he passes out again, he then hears the person say "I need a doctor, or a med bay. We have a pilot bleeding from a head wound."

Fumbling with his dog-tags, he manages to get them out and let them dangle around his neck. He then passes out, yet again from blood loss and from the slight concussion he got from hitting the window.

((thanks for rescuing Corporal Cutter, Parker!

also, on his dog-tags it says:

CUTTER, JOHN P
1011-26-35
O+))

((Hey, I'm O+...heheh.  I like this character idea, Hunt!))

Corliss waits a moment for the Engineer to reply, but instead the creature just seems quite content to have helped him.  With all those tentacles there was probably going to be a language barrier, even though it was clear the Engineer could understand Corliss.

He shrugs.  "Well, thank you very much, you're a lifesaver, mate," says Corliss with a grin, and he goes back to working on the Skimmer.

---

In the bar, Myitt glances idly over her shoulder at the commotion.  A young man in pretty bad shape who looks like he's wearing a dated human military uniform.

"We can take him to my fighter," says Myitt, although she's reluctant to leave the conversation between Ossanlin and Ardiss.  "I'm no medic, but I have the supplies to keep him alive.  We'll have to hurry."  She glances around at those within earshot.  "And if anyone else is better at patching people up, we could use your help, too."

She slides off the seat and walks over to Parker, frowning at the condition of the young human.  "Alright, we need to act quickly.  Follow me."

Myitt leads Parker to her Bug fighter, which is small but has a storage room equipped with a fold-out metal wall cot and a number of supplies, all of them in either English or Yeerkish.  The basics--adrenaline, saline, gauze and antiseptic, topical analgesics.   Once Parker has arrived she injects the human with a painkiller and starts applying the analgesics and antiseptic, which is about the limit of her on-the-fly medical capabilities.  "Jesus," she whispers.  "He's not in great shape.  And where is he from?  This uniform looks like it's right out of Band of Brothers."

Inside the bar, Gaz was making a call on her communicator.

"Cortex," she said, "this is Captain Gaz."

"Gaz!" said a male voice from the other end. "Good to hear from you. I imagine this means you need something."

"That I do," Gaz replied, "Cargo ships are getting harder to take. Gotta upgrade."

"I heard about your latest exploit with Morgan," Cortex said.

Gaz didn't ask how Cortex knew. Cortex knew a lot of things, and never told anyone where the information came from. So it wouldn't do any good to ask.

"When can we stop by?" Gaz asked.

It was never a good idea to show up uninvited or take Cortex by surprise.

"Give me a week," Cortex said. "That way I can assemble what you two space pirates need."

As she put the communicator away, Gaz heard the commotion outside. Her and Morgan went to check it out. They saw the injured man on the ground.

"Do ya need my ship's Doctor?" Morgan asked.

Ossanlin raises an eyebrow at Ardiss.  "Do you really expect me to believe you're a human with a dracon?  I understand protection, can't be too careful when you're trying to evade an Empire.  Sai says there's really no other way for you to get a Dracon aside from being a controller, and I agree.  But if you want, Christine, I'll stop asking you about your dealings with the Empire."

Ossanlin tries to put on what is supposed to be a winning grin.  "Unfortunately I don't have any other clothing.  I never used to care about hosts and when I got Sai involuntarily, I didn't bring any of his clothes.  Besides, the uniform was standard issue.  I would've raised a few eyebrows if anyone had seen me in anything else."  Ossanlin brushes a finger over his rank insignia longingly, and wondered to himself how Corliss had come across bridge-officer pins...on second thought, maybe he didn't want to know how.

"The Visser was...an *sshole...if you pardon my language.  He treated his bridge officers like peons...no respect.  Besides, you get sick of war and killing things after a while.  I'm sure there was no shortage of lackeys who were happy to take my spot.  The uniform still gets respect in places where they don't know I took off.  Hell I might've been a SubVisser in a few more cycles if I hadn't gotten fed up.  I'm sure Visser 8 would've done anything in his power to keep that from happening though."  Ossanlin grimaces.  This was actually a bit of fun...instead of trying to manipulate Ardiss, he found himself enjoying the conversation with her.  Something that would've obviously been impossible if he had not morphed.  Slanging his language was turning out to be the hardest part...thankfully he had interactions with humans, namely Myitt, to draw from.

Ossanlin pulls out the old Dracon he grabbed from Corliss' skimmer and looks at the readout, grimacing again.  "If you want the truth, this Dracon's power cell is completely depleted.  I couldn't stun a nerderk."  That much was true...obviously this hadn't been one of Corliss' main weapons.

Ossanlin turns his head to look at Parker.  That was annoying, he could've easily seen the entire room as an andalite.  Turning his back to Ardiss unwatched was not something he felt ready to do yet.  He spared only a glance and one more when Myitt left.  "Another human?  This place is strange.  I suppose the woman that left owns that weird bug fighter eh?  Bet she's a Yeerk."  Ossanlin shrugs again, now appearing completely relaxed as he continues to look at Ardiss.  "So Christine, where are you from?"  Ossanlin smiles again.

Zoshonel followed Parker around, and did what little help he could for the wounded pilot, but it seemed there were others that could hep more. So he just stood by for moral support.

"Wow," Parker watches Myitt tend to the unconscious Marine. "Field medicine is a lot more complicated without biofoam, isn't it?" Parker looks at the Marine's Dog tags,

"Cutter, John? Huh, another John that can take a flying impact. Hahaha." Parker laughs at the memory of his comrade John-117 and his affinity for jumping off of dropships early.

"This Marine must come from a very different universe. In our military, no Marine would or could pilot a fighter plane. We used to have an Air Force to transport Marines."

Thor's hologram appears near the Cutter's head suddenly. His 'voice' again comes from Parker's speakers, "The design of this human's outfit and fighter plane suggests that he came from the mid-1900s. This is a rough estimate based on our military's history, of course."

Talking to Myitt, Thor says, "Cpl. Cutter seems to have suffered a concussion from the impact from his fighter's canopy. He'll need stitches as soon as you can. Or do you have a suitable substitute?"

As the Minotaur called, "Morgan" and his friend , "Gaz", approached, they asked if they could help. Parker responded, "I'll check with Myitt, she's been able to clean his wound, but I'm unsure of what supplies she has, let me check."

Parker turns to Myitt, "Do you think you have enough to fully treat him, or should we move him to Morgan's ship?"

Ardiss shrugs in what she hopes is a nonchalant sort of way, "I'm from a lot of places," she answers truthfully. She looks Ossanlin up and down, trying to get a bearing over his motivation for talking to her. She was waiting for the room to explode with Hork-Bajir, ready to take her into the torture chambers that she had once been in command of.

"I go where I am needed," Ardiss says, keeping her answers vague, "Humans, Yeerks and Andalites -" the sneer in her voice on the word Andalites is unmistakable, even in her human guise, "-are in a gruesome war. If you don't make yourself useful, you're done for." She offers Ossanlin a small smile, "I suppose I haven't been too useful lately, so I found myself here. How did you get here? On a Bug Fighter?"

"Don't know what biofoam is, kid," says Myitt to the marine who may well be older than her host.  It was hard to tell behind all that armor.  "But this will help in the place of stitches.  This ain't Frankenstein's lab."  She throws on a pair of normal latex gloves and gently peels the soldier's wound into a more suitable position, squirting clear liquid onto it from a strangely marked plastic bottle.  She dabs the wound with gauze, then hastily rummages through a few drawers, retrieving what looks like her backup putty gun.  She brushes the dust off of the black, glue gun-like device and its dispensing chamber hums to life, glowing red.

"Stupid thing always--ngh--loose," she grunts, snapping the reloadable putty cartridge back into place.  "Alright, hang in there, Mister Cutter."  She gently dispenses globs of grey putty onto the soldier's head wound.  The gruel-like stuff makes an unnerving sizzling noise, tendrils of smoke rising from it, but it doesn't cause much pain--besides, the poor guy is unconscious.  It snakes around his head, through his hair, like a living bandage.

Lowering the putty gun and brushing her hair out of her face, she turns to Parker.  "I can treat him for the basics here, but if Morgan and the pirate crew have a real doctor, he'd be welcome.  If Cutter has a severe concussion he may have internal bleeding."  A thought occurs to her.  "There are two ways I can figure that out, and I'm not sure I really want to perform one of them."  She sucks in a breath and sets the putty gun down, digging into her pockets and retrieving her small blackish green cube computer.  A screen pops up and she runs a basic bioscan on the young man, frowning.

"Aye," Morgan said, "she's a real doctor. Served in a good hospital before she joined my crew. Got a decent sick bay aboard my ship. I can have a couple crew members bring a stretcher, if ye wish."

"I guess you mean an 'inside job'." Zoshonel remarked when Myitt said she didn't want to do one of the two things to check for internal bleeding.

"Something like that," Myitt says, smiling mirthlessly.  "Morgan, your crew might be better equipped to help him.  He's stable but he might not stay that way.  Just be careful moving him."

"I can take him, no worries about that." Parker held his arms out, elbows bent, palms up. His arms were perfectly still. "We may not have time to wait for a stretcher."

Thor's hologram looked up from the living bandage to Myitt; again, his 'voice' came from Parker's speakers. "There would be nothing to fear of Parker-821 moving him. He would guarantee safe transport."

"Thanks Thor, that's what I meant by, 'no worries', but thanks for the vote of confidence any way."

"You are welcome."

Parker turned his attention back to Myitt, "What do you say, do you trust me, or do you want to wait for the stretcher?"

"I think I'll go investigate the crash. Make sure nothing's going to blow up." Zoshonel said, trying to take some initiative.

He went to the plane, and took note of the damage. It didn't seem like any immediate damage would cause things to get worse, like start any fires or anything.
