"What I am does not matter," Ardiss says softly, sidestepping the question. The Imperial uniform makes his casual reference to a host saying 'hello' seem suspicious. Perhaps he is trying to get a confession out of her. Well, that wouldn't be too easy to do when faced with a former Imperial interrogator. She knew most of the tricks in the book, albeit the more violent ones.

"My name is Christine." Ardiss says, using her hosts name rather than her own. This Yeerk had only guessed what she was. Perhaps she could fool him into thinking that she was merely human.

Zoshonel came inside the bar after a while of looking, and still holding the rifle. He told the group that there was nothing suspicious outside, and gave Oss a once over. He decided to sit down and rest, after being outside all day.

Parker, followed Zoshonel in the bar and sat down as well.

"So, Zosh, how'd you like the Battle Rifle? You didn't find anyone on your patrol did ya?"

Myitt strains to listen to Ossanlin, Jagill and Ardiss from her seat a few paces away at the bar.

Corliss looks around idly.  "Right.  I'm going to go work on the Skimmer.  Be careful, mate."

"Yeah," says Myitt distractedly, squinting down at the bar counter as she listens.

---

Corliss steps outside and heads over to the Skimmer to work on getting it up and running again.  As he passes the Engineer he waves.  "Hi, there."

((Zombs feel free to do whatever you want, but eventually Corliss could use help fixing the ship :P  Just a thought.))

"I didn't see anything suspicious." Zoshonel said to Parker. "It feels a little weird, but cool, toting a rifle around. You know, my people breathe fire. So if we ever need long ranged attacks in a pinch, we can spit fireballs at twenty yards. Though I think in some careers, they do carry firearms. It's mostly to guard very important people, though. Like the world leaders."

"Did you get any shots at any wandering squirrels;" Parker asks with a light slap to Zoshonel's shoulder blade, "or did you just carry it around?"

"I prefer to hunt animals in a more natural way. I did aim it around like a commando, or something." He said. "Hey, does that armor ever get heavy? I know you probably feel protected with it on, but it's got to wear you down."

"Oh, I also chatted with Belzar a bit. He said that the grass and trees are of great quality, and look quite real. I get the feeling he isn't from a place with any plant life. Maybe not even animal life. I'm not sure how worried he is about getting back to where he came from, but then he doesn't have a face. Just a slit that I assume work as eyes."

After hearing Zoshonel's question, Parker laughs, "Haha, don't worry Zoshonel, I went through a special procedure that gave me the strength to support this armor. To be truthful, this armor also supports me. It's a powered suit; it actually enhances my speed, strength, and reflexes. So it's more of a symbiotic relationship.

Don't get me wrong, I could still give you one helluva fight without this suit, but it definitely helps out. Not to mention Thor here." Parker opens his hand and places the back of his hand on the table.

Thor appears in his usual dramatic entrance; A hologram of a man appears in a kneeling position his right arm resting on his knee, and his forhead resting on his forearm. His left hand holds a short-handled hammer with the head on the ground, and his hand on the handle like a cain. The man raises from his earlier stance now standing tall, about 7". As the hologram speaks, a voice comes out of Parker's helmet's speakers.

"I am Thor. Nice to meet you."

"With Thor, my reflexes are enhanced even further. He also helps out tactically."

"Nice to meet you too. That's impressive. Our technology went in a differetn direction, I guess. I like a good fight, but I think Temrash is against fighting just for the sake of it."

The Engineer turns its attention to Corliss, whistled a greeting and continued sifting parts, it had begun to build the frame but actually had no idea what a skeet thrower looked like so it would make do with improvising.

((If you want the Engineer to help, ask, as its getting momentarily confused as to what a skeet thrower looks like and would probably welcome a distraction))

--

Thodol had remained silent and watchful for quite a while, merely taking note of the shooting competition and memorizing anything that happened so his Master would have information to go over later.
The Chaos Marine approached to where the armored human was, but remained a few meters away, watching how things would play out and not at all concerned if he was noticed, in fact that may have been his goal.

((In case no-one remembers this guy, I made him quite  few pages back, and this is what he looks like))

((I'm also bringing yet another Chaos Marine, I'll post it up later tho))

Zoshonel noticed one of the patrons silently approach the table. He gave the parton an acknolodging (sp?) look, before turning to Parker again. "You know, I just thought of something. Does the engineer know what a skeet shoort looks like? You might need to draw up a diagram, or construct a holographic image."

After a few minutes of inspecting the Skimmer and getting the auxiliary cabin lights back on, Corliss starts digging around in the main engine room.  Not a lot of serious damage, but a few couplings were loose.  He clicked a couple back into place and frowned at the last one, wiping engine grease off onto a rag and clicking a flashlight to inspect it further.  The lights in the engine room were still dim.

"Damn," he murmurs.  <Bloody z-space transponder's smashed.  Can't fix it, I need another one.>

<Oh, I'll just call Radio Shack, then.>

Corliss looks up and considers.  "Maybe that Engineer bloke can fix it?"

<Worth a shot, mate.>

He hops out around the wiring and climbs back out of the ship, going over to the engineer.  He smiles at the creature, his face smudged with black.  "Hello," he says to the Engineer, holding out the wrecked transponder.  "D'you think you can fix this?  It's a z-space transponder for my Skimmer."  The black metal sphere, heavy and about twice the length of Corliss' palm, is fragmented and cracked, white wires sticking out of the device at odd angles.

Parker ****s his head at Zoshonel's mention of useless fighting, "I didn't mean we would fight, I meant it as a comparison of my natural strengths. I can't think of any reason I'd fight you. Ha-ha. Especially after training you how to shoot me! Hahahaha!" Parker gives Zoshonel another light pat on the shoulder.

Thor's hologram looks past the two and notices the large metallic soldier. <Sir, there seems to be a rather large soldier eyeing you.>

Parker cuts off his external speakers, "Where is he?"

<Five o' clock, 4 meters away. There's no sign of aggression or violence.>

"Just keep an eye on him, will ya?"

<Of course sir.>

After Zoshonel inquires about the Engineer, Parker turns his external speakers back on and responds, "Nah, the skeet shooter we want is actually unprecedented. How it looks is up to him. I gave him an adequate description of what we needed. It may take a while to actually make it as it's never been done before. Not an analog skeet thrower from spare ship parts. Ha."

The Engineer was delighted to take the black sphere, and the tip of one tendril split into multiple, fine cilia and delved within the object, beginning to re-connect the internal circuitry before mending the white wires and placing them inside the black housing.

Lighter then Some paused for a moment turning the transponder over as it brought it closer to its row of eyes and examined the cracked and fragmented parts, withdrawing its cilia from the internal circuits to began to mend the cracks, melding the edges together and leaving barely a seam.

It rolled the newly mended transponder on its tentacles for a moment, feeling for anything that may not be in the right place, but a Z-space Transponder was not all too different from a slipspace capacitor, but smaller and rounded.
Finding that all should be in order the Huragok whistled happily and offered the sphere back to Corliss.

Corliss takes the transponder and turns it over, whistling.  He looks up at Lighter then Some.  "This is bloody brilliant, mate.  What's your name?  Do you understand me?"  He pats his chest.  "I'm Corliss."  He pauses, not wanting to confuse the creature.  "And Michael."
