Mar holds his head, rubbing it, and then smirks. "Ah...yes. That's why you remind me so much of him. The person I know is an honorable idealist to the very end. Always fighting for any fool he sees in trouble, like it's his personal mission in life to solve the problems of others. I doubt you have a similar nature; it's your youth I sense."

Mar pauses momentarily, as if in thought, and then picks up his statement again. "We're not exactly friends. He in fact makes it his business to cause problems for me. But still...he's been around longer than most people stay in my life. That's refreshing."

Mar glances at him calmly and asks, "You came along on this mission at Temrash's request, correct? Was this because of the situation with Ardiss?"

Breekan nods and immediately rushes to the weapons console, strapping in and taking the demon in his sights. He frowns, struggling to line up a shot that wouldn't put the others at risk, before firing a substantial burst of energy at the creature.

"He said he needed someone by his side that he could trust, so I came. I didn't really know anything about ardiss at first, except that I was to check and see if a Yeerk was still alive. I won't say whether Temrash or Jagill is a fool or not, but Jagill is the main reason I'm not a forced controller right now."

"I take it you're one of the morally shady types? What is your territory? What do you plan to make of it?"

Keirdan stares up at Fletcher for a moment, then responds, "I'm not a human. I think I'm in trouble. Breekan said no bad guys, and only people." He frowns, and takes the container of sprinkles, dumping the entier contents onto his ice cream.

Shal exits the ship, and stands outside of it, watching the bar in silence.

Since the demon had gotten some of that acid-spit on him, he had to ditch his trench-coat because it was eating away at it. The pain from the acid was begenning to get out of hand, and because of this, Hunt had to try and get away from the fight and get the stuff out of the wound.

Stumbling towards the bar, Hunt pushed the door open and collapsed in the entrance mumbling the words "Help... me..."

"So you're here for entirely circumstantial reasons, as a good friend," states Mar, rubbing the tips of his fingers together. "Well, at least Temrash must consider you reliable. Even if..." Mar holds his head, shaking it a bit. "...even if I don't consider him reliable yet."

Mar lays farther into his seat. The headache's getting on his nerves. It's as if just when the pain from his wound began to dull this came on. Somebody has it in for me. Or at least it feels that way.

"And...yes I suppose I'm what you'd call morally challenged. I seem to have found myself helping those in the Bar purely by accident. But...it would be unlike me not to finish the mess I've started. As for what my "territory" is...are you asking what it is that I do? ...many things. Some of which I've chosen..." Mar groans. "...and some of which I haven't."

The Daemon sensed more then heard the armored ones attack, and twisted round swinging its tail out of the way and lashing out with a bladed appendage, aiming to grasp and rend the human.

Part of its mind was also occupied with the femal morsel, concerned with undermining the defenses and controlling it as a puppet, another part of its consciousness was occupied with trying to tear the Andalites mind apart. Khazrak decided that it couldn't wait any longer for a morsel and reached put with a tentacle, aiming to grasp the feline and drag it into the Daemons flesh.

Its plan was interrupted by a massive burst of energy hitting its back, cutting deep into its flesh and causing the grip it had on the Andalites and the females mind's to spasm and weaken.
It was energy but far too much to be absorbed at an easy rate, trying to disperse this much energy was like consuming the core of a sun, even consuming a dying sun was as bad as this.
There was two things that the Daemon could do now, it could submit to the energy and retreat back into the Warp or it could disperse the near-overwhelming energy by sending it into the Warp.

It sent

To anyone watching or fighting the Daemon, it would appear to blur and its flesh melt and run together as the energies ran rampant throughout its form, to those who could see into another Plane it would be calling to the other Warp creatures, those who were attracted to raw energy, and this Daemon was giving off a lot of it.

Slowly the Daemons form grew smaller, limbs either shrunk or were pulled back entirely into a changing body, it was returning to its original form, but also different for the energies had restored its formerly tattered and rotting frame, the newly restored Devourer stood, leaning on its staff for a little support, it stood 9'3 and looked down upon the Mortals that had supplied it with energy and entertainment, its mind released those it had assaulted and a smile appeared on its face that did not reach its eyes, and it laughed, a deep sound that reverberated in the minds as well as the ears of those that heard it

"To be perfectly honest with you, Mar, I don't yet know a lot about Temrash and Jagill. But they haven't disappointed me so far." Zoshonel said.

********************

"This is bad." Temrash said. "Nothing we throw at it does lasting damage, and if anything the creature has only become stronger. We may need to evacuate!"

Danika fled the demon, unsure of anything she could do. In a last, desperate attempt, she called on the pod she came in. It was designed to transport anything to and from Mechastar, regardless of how willing the creature was. The orb came to life, and hovered above the ground. Tentacles  came from the opening, and thousands of nanobots flew outside. They all targeted the creature for capture.

(Aww, I'll help you, Hunter.)

Temrash gave up on his weapon, as it seemed to do no good. Seeing the Fox creature collapse, he ran over to him. "We have to go. I'll help you." He said, as he picked the guy up and tried to help him to Temrash's ship. The blotches on his skin were also starting to spread.

Looking around, he noticed Asmodee's ship hovering in the air. "Asmodee is here? And nowhere to be seen? That's not a good feeling."

Corliss remains near the ship, unsure of how to attack this creature.  He trains his Dracon on it but can't get a good lock, scowling in frustration.  In a moment he tries again, but now the creature was...transforming.  He watches, transfixed, as the restored demon laughs at the pitiful creatures attacking it.  It's not a pretty sound, and Corliss shudders, backing away again.

<What is that?> he demands, distraught, stepping around the side of the ship to get out of view of the dreadful thing.  <Guh...I hate creatures whose voice makes your bloody brain melt!>

---

"Home sweet home," says Myitt quietly, tapping at a number of screens.  She sits back.  "We're going to dock with the main spaceport ship.  Innit pretty?"  She grins, flying the ship into the docking bay on the underside of the massive black ship that resembles a disjointed octopus.  Rectangular projections jut out from the sides of the ship, ten in total, with long tendrils hanging underneath near the bays.  It's as if a giant foot had stepped on a Pool Ship and made it more angular.

"Well, we try," says Reven softly, leaning down to look up at the huge grey metal room seething with at least a hundred ships.

Myitt lands the ship, and the jolt wakes Gerard up.

"Whuzzat?" he murmurs, wincing and putting a hand to his forehead.  "Ugh, my head feels like a squashed melon."

"You hit your head pretty bad," says Reven.

"Where are we?" Gerard asks, squinting around blearily.

"The port ship.  We made it," says Reven, helping Gerard slowly to his feet.  "The old base is no longer a security threat.  The beta site already has our Taxxon brothers working on it, and the preliminary force shields in place."

Gerard nods faintly.  "Ugh."

"We've got a lot of work to do," says Myitt bluntly, stepping out of the ship.

((Myitt, Reven and Gerard will be MIA until they start to get their new base up and running, but Myitt still has a comm link which any of you guys can use to contact her.  Just assume you have the frequency :) In the meantime Corliss will still be at the bar.))

Breekan curses, pounds the panel and heads back outside to look at the demon. He frowns at Corliss and Shal. "That didn't work. Ideas?"

"It doesn't look like any of these attacks are hurting it, if it can bloody morph into a renewed form," Corliss says, his heart pounding in his ears from the sheer sanity jarring shock of the creature's presence.  "Anybody have a nuke?"

Morgan hadn't come out of his ship yet. His voice came over the comm. "Gaz! What in the name of Davy Jones is that thing?!"

"Not sure I can say," Gaz replied. "All I know is it ain't going down quietly."

"Came here for a drink," Morgan grumbled, "not to fight some blasted demon."
