"Bloody hell, Myitt, what are you thinking?" Corliss whispers, recovering after the re-entry back into real space.  He watches the red beams of energy lance out at the Blade Ship and brings his own manual weapons around to fire on the Blade Ship as well.  The controls are unusual, but he manages to get at least one shot at the ship.  "Sensors show the Blade Ship's powering its z-space engines," he calls down to Gaz.

Gaz punched the comm. "Fletch, how long will the cloak hold while we fire?"

"Not long," Fletch replied, "I'd say between 5 and 10 shots. Make 'em count. After that we gotta shoot at 'em with colors flying."

"All weapons fire!" Gaz yelled. "Let's try to get in a few sneak shots before the cloak goes down!"

"What?" Corliss yelps.  "You mean you can't maintain your cloaking device if this hunk of junk fires a few rounds?"

<Like a bleeding Pinto, mate,> Michael quips silently.

<Pintos did not have cloaking devices,> Corliss says flatly.  <Or guns.>

<Maybe they should've, eh?>

Shal's fingers dart over the controls as the weapons she controls lock onto the blade ship. She hesitates for a moment before letting a shot loose.

Mar glances at Myitt awkwardly and states, ".....I told you. I will only act if your life or Kara's life is in danger. It's not my concern whether or not the Empire is able to locate your base. Besides, I believe they're smart enough to evacuate. I will wait this battle out. If something comes close to killing you, give me the Dracon and I will shed the mortal coil. Crayak be damned."

Mar glances at Kara sitting in the chair, extremely nervous. Barely moments after she's regained her freedom and she's taking part in a battle. These rebels live in a rough world.

Temrash's shots are presice, even though he's firing manually. He swings the guns across all the memorized weakest spots of the Bladeship. The bottom, the engines, and even the base of the enemy guns where they rest on the ship. Christine does her best as well, fighting the nervousness she feels from being in a firefight.

Temrash's and Zoshonel's ships come out, and begin attacking on Autopilot.

Meanwhile, Zoshonel sits anxiously, watching Myitt fire and notice that the Bladeship is being fired fom elsewhere. He notices his own ship, and asks Myitt for her sommunicator. "If I can give my ship some orders, it will be more effective. I'm glad Jagill brought it, though I doubt we'll have time for me to board it."

Breekan exhales and slides smoothly into action, firing off a quick shot though his heart's losing its mind. He peers at the ship's form. "Cor, you've seen more of these things than I have; are the Z-space engines anywhere we can blast?"

Gaz punched the comm again. "Fletch? You know those modifications you were trying to make?"

"Yeah, what about them?" Fletch asked.

"It's time for a test!"

"What do you mean?" Fletch asked. "Now?"

"No time like the present," Gaz said, "anything to keep our cover for as long as possible!"

Gaz turned ,almost casually, as she maneuvered the ship to stay away from the guns.

"See," she explained, "the cloaking device we have was...salvaged, let's say. So, to begin with it wasn't entirely compatible with The Vagabond. We've been making modifications..."

"I've been making..." Fletcher interrupted.

"Shut up, you," said Gaz as she turned off the comm.

Gaz continued her story as she piloted, "We've been making modifications to it since then, but it wasn't that long ago. So what I said before was about where we had gotten before this whole thing came up. Fletcher was making further modifications but wanted to test them first."

"Test them?" Corliss cries.  "You picked a bloody great time to 'ave an experiment, going up against the most powerful type of ship in the bloody Empire!"  He turns his attention to Breekan, out of breath.  "Yes," he says succinctly.  "The long spines on the back, there. Z-drives'll be extra well shielded."  He pauses.  "I suppose our position will be known well enough now that we're firing at them, but it would've helped to remain invisible.  Hell, um...Gaz, perhaps you should divert whatever energy is left in those failing cloaks to the shields, yeah?  And pray we aren't going to need them."

---

Myitt glances briefly at Mar, her attention still on whether or not they've hit that ship.  "Mar, if that ship turns around and starts firing at us, our lives will be in very real danger."  She notes the arrival of Gaz's ship.  "Hah!  Firepower, excellent.  Though Seran will probably still try and run.  Can't say I blame him, he doesn't want us to die in some quick and easy ship explosion, and he certainly doesn't want to meet that fate either--albeit for different reasons."

((Chad, do you mean the Temrash's and Zoshonel's ships have launched unmanned fighters on autopilot from Zoshonel's ship somewhere?  I think I missed when Zoshonel's ship arrived, I thought it was just the Cruiser and The Vagabond.))

(I posted earlier that Temrash had set his and Zoshonel's ships on autopilots, and were following the vegabond. So right now they're just empty, and running on autopilot from where the vegabond came out.)

"Well, so far whatever Fletcher is doing is working," Gaz said. "Computer read outs still say they shouldn't be able to see us. The only things they should see are random shots coming from nowhere."

"That's excellent. Just keep moving around, and keep out of firing range of the main cannons." Temrash said. "I'll also have to side with Corliss, as testing something new out on a Bladeship isn't the best course of action. It can't be helped, though.

"Not to worry," came Fletcher's voice, "this sort of stuff is what Gaz does best. Piracy and all."

"I thought I turned you off," Gaz muttered.

"Guess again," Fletcher said.

"I'll fix that," Gaz said as she turned the comm off. Maybe the button was sticky.

"Ok," Gaz said after a moment, "just tell me where I need to navigate so they can fire at a target."

"Behind, and below. fire at engines, Z-Space thrusters if you can penetrate the shield, the lower hull, and the secondary weapons. If you're in a good enough position to fire at the main weapons, you're too close."

Far off in the distance, a ship appears. It looks like a huge rectuangular prism column flying on it's side above the bar.

It has what looks like a huge canon on the (supposed) front of it. The ship looks horribly damaged. What appear to be bolts of lightning are travelling along the side of the ship as if the whole thing is an exposed wire. You can tell this thing is barely staying together.

((Hey, if someone can freak out that a new ship has arrived and shoot it down, that'd be great.))
