"Have you lot got room for one more?" Breekan asks, standing. "If there's something I can do to help, I'd really rather not stay here sitting on my ass."

"Welcome aboard, Breekan!" Gaz shouted as she ran out the door.

Once Gaz was on board she sat in her seat at the helm and began a quick systems check while she waited for the others.

"How're things, Fletch?"

"Ready to fly on your say," Fletcher replied.

"Just gotta wait for a few others to hop on board," Gaz said as she pressed buttons and flicked switches. "They shouldn't be too far behind."

"Let's go, then," says Corliss.  He glances back at Shal and Keirdan.  "Are you coming, too?"  He hurries outside, rushing past Alic, Ossanlin and Christine.  "Oy, it's a field trip, you in?  I've gotta jet, I'm sorry...evacuation and all.  Hopefully we can stop this in time.  And for Christ's sake, be careful!"  He trots after Gaz and climbs aboard the Vagabond, looking around and taking a seat.  He fiddles with the seat restraints, so unlike the living metal belts he's used to.  He feels strangely like he's in a car with seat belts.

"Thank you, Gaz," he says gratefully.  "The Skimmer's out of commission, besides its comm system, so I appreciate the ride.  Sitting in that bloody bar didn't provide much opportunity for me to help my own people.  My own sibling."

"Anytime," Gaz said. "We'll wait about a minute more to see if anyone is coming. Don't think we can afford much more time that that."

Fletch got up and said, "I'm going to do a second weapons check. Gives me something to do."

"Might need a couple of you on weapons if the time comes," Gaz said.

"I'd be happy to oblige," says Corliss.  "I'm not bad behind a weapons console, although I'll have to acquaint myself with your systems.  What is the basis for this ship's technology?  It appears to be different from what I'm used to.  I'm certainly not used to humans having their own ships, not without basis in some salvaged tech from the Empire, or the Skrit Na, or even the bloody Kelbrid.  Quite unique, this."

Breekan makes his way onto the ship in a git of gallops and glides, poking his head in moments after Corliss's. "Did someone say weapons?" he asks. He takes a seat at the weapons console next to Corliss. "Hey, nifty!"

Corliss leans over to watch from his seat near the weapons console.  "What language is that?  I can't really see from this angle."

"I'm coming too! Christine, you're with me. I don't want to leave you here alone."

"Yes sir!"

"Gaz, I can do just about anything from navigating to shooting, if you need me anywhere. Dapsen, I wish I had asked my guy to try to throw a tracer on the ship. Probably would have blown his cover, though. I'll try to make a few calls and see if I can find anything."

Temrash punched in a few codes on his communicator, and both his and Zoshonel's ship came online. He gave the command for them to follow the Vagabond as best they could, and set them on agressive autopilot. Then he started making calls.

"I can maybe do a few things." Christine said after she entered the ship. "My Yeerk was assigned patrol duty sometimes."

Mar glances at Myitt, who's been in communication with the other half of their party for some time now. It must be nice to have reliable associates. I feel that I am never so lucky.

Mar wanders up to the console slowly and states, "If I die in the process of giving assistance...I may not reappear for some time, unless I come forth in the way you've seen me before. Not that that is a problem for you exactly, but...it has been an interesting venture to say the least."

Upon the exodus from the bar, Keirdan approaches Shalner and stands next to her in silence. Shal grips the bar in an obvious protest against taking her brother out into battle. The bartender approaches, and picks up Shal's full glass. He empties it into a sink, and stares at the pair in seeming silence.

Keirdan ****s his head, staring back at the bartender for a moment, before climbing on to Shal's lap. "He said if the bad guys come back, we don't have a ship to leave on."

Shal looks from Keirdan to the bartender, a confused expression on her face. She hesitates for a moment, then leaves the bar, carrying the boy on her hip, a defeated expression on her face. She boards the Vagabond, and waits for instructions on where she's needed.

"All right!" Gaz said getting energized. "Let's get this started."

"Yep, she's a unique ship," Gaz said. "Part of what was said a while ago, about different dimensions, sort of makes me think that maybe this ship really was pulled here from somewhere else."

Gaz punched in the take off sequence and The Vagabond was off.

"If any of you knows how to use weapons I could certainly use that," Gaz said, "I got the feeling that we'll be running into trouble."

Swiveling in her chair, Gaz said, "Well, I've got the computerized weapons console there and a couple of the good ol' fashioned manual guns."

"I'll take the manuals. Chritstine, you take the computerized. It will be easier for you." Temrash said.

"Yes sir."

"Gaz, I'll upload the schematic of a basic Bladeship's design for you. It will show where the weapons are placed and such, as long as Seran didn't customize his ship too much. Myitt probably already knows about Bladeships." Temrash said as he made contact with some operatives.

"Sounds like a plan," Gaz said. "Manuals are located down that way. You'll see a ladder that leads to the gun on top. Controls for that are pretty basic. There's also the side manual. Everything else is controlled from the weapons station over there."

Gaz indicated a station to her left with a couple of chairs.

Fletcher walked back in and Gaz said, "Fletch, see about helping to bring up those ship schematics."

Turning around to grab a seat at one of the manual gunstations, Breekan spies Shal and Keirdan. He smacks his forehead. "Oh ****, I completely abandoned you guys." His face falls. "Oh. Oh Keirdan, we're going to have to be very careful with you, buddy... Can you be very, very careful while we're away from the bar?"

Keirdan wraps his arms around Shalner's neck, and gives her a tight squeeze. He stares at Breekan, and nods. "I'm a careful boy."

Shal sits down on an unoccupied chair, holding the boy on her lap.
