Myitt steps up the ramp and into the off-white, large cabin, its floor lined with dark grey metal tiling. She grins at Claxter.
"Actually, most of our ships are designed to above all for efficiency, and secondly to inspire fear," she says grimly. "But Bug fighters, despite their name, are inspired by the Hork-Bajir homeworld where they were first designed. All those serrations, the landing gear like Hork-Bajir legs." She peers outside at the black hull, holding onto the rim of the hatchway. "Skimmers, on the other hand, are sort of designed like...a little bit like an Earth lobster, I suppose, and like a spider. But there is a creature on the Yeerk homeworld with a similar shape, called a nirrim. The name of the ship, in Yeerkish, actually." Myitt runs her hand up and down in the air. "It skims along. One of very few insect species on the planet." She shrugs and disappears into the ship, moving to the front navigational controls.
To the left is the weapons station, and to the right is another data station for navigation. The cabin is roomy enough for all three Andalites, with room to spare, perhaps three times the size of a Bug fighter. At the rear are the two familiar doorways, one to storage, the other to the pool room, the quarters, and the engine room.
