Salem glanced up nervously at the sound of the thunder. It seemed Blast might be more powerful than Salem had realized. That was definitely not an ability he was familiar with.

When Blast yelled about using the thunder for cover, Salem nodded. He caught a glimpse of something silver through the trees ahead of them- was it a spacecraft? From here, it certainly looked like it could be Andalite in origin, but without getting closer, there was no way to be sure.

"Over there!" he yelled to Blast, pointing in the direction of the silver thing.

With a nod, Blast revved the engine and gunned it towards his destination. Once within rance he coasted to a stop a couple hundred yards away.

Serid shifts in his seat, freeing Illim's comm device from his pocket and offering it to him.

"Thanks," Illim nods, setting the tiny computer on the control panel in front of him and turning it on. A moment later, the holoscreen is glowing with an eerie green light while it attempts to connect with Myitt.

The Yeerk drums his fingers on his leg, suddenly inexplicably nervous.

Amy could believe want Taylis was saying with her mouth.  <<Why don't you want to stay with me?>>
"I'll take anything but a Taxxon," Taylis said.  "I don't want to put myself through the host hunger and the war at the same time."  <<Yes, Amy you still have no respect for Yeerks as far as I can tell.  As soon as you finish off the Imperials you'll go after the ones in the Peace movement.>>

When the explosion had gone off both Bear and Kevlin had jumped. Bear trotted out to make sure John was fine. When he saw that the ship was unharmed he turned back. He followed Temrash, Kevlin, and Amy back to the ship. Kevlin waited in the corridor and Bear waited just inside the hatch.

After a few long moments of what amounts to 'ringing' in the realm of Yeerkish comm links, the visual feed finally pops up on Illim's holoscreen.

Myitt's usually unkempt and frizzy hair is lopsided as she squints into the screen.

"Hello?" she croaks, clearing her throat and peering a bit too close.  The room she's in is dark and her voice is muffled by the sound of some kind of generator or machinery running nearby.

Salem skated up and hockey stopped beside Blast. He turned to Blast and stood, subconsciously shuffling his feet back and forth.

"Looks like it crashed," he said, nodding towards the ship. "It's in pretty good shape though- relatively controlled crash." He shrugged, "Shall we knock?"

<You want me to get back in Mike?> Terenia yelps in surprise, his proposal temporarily outshining the purpose of it. After a moment her brain backtracks and she realizes what he said. <You think she destroyed it? You mean, like destroyed destroyed? No longer in existence destroyed?>

Another brief pause. Then, in a strangely calm thought-speak voice, <Let me in him.>

Efaen nods her stalk eyes in agreement, then sets about scanning the room for potential threats. Besides herself, Claxter and Ossanlin there are no other Andalites. The primary species still appears to be human. Or Yeerk, she reminds herself.

<<Whatever it is that the Electorate is doing in allowing Ossanlin this partnership, it is wrong. It is defying their own sense of decency,>> Efaen says. <and I intend discover precisely what it is that he has involved himself in.>>

"Oh, yeah," Trey says, ducking his head a bit. "My, uh...resistence group. Well, I haven't got much so far. I mean, I know starting on Earth is a lost cause. That's why my dad got us off the planet. Honestly, the only natural Yeerks in the galaxy are probably on the Homeworld, which isn't exactly the safest place in the galaxy. But they might be my best bet."

"You'll promise me, Terenia?" Corliss asks testily.  "I don't want you or Mike anywhere near that mad Andalite child.  Do you understand?"

<Yeah, yeah,> Terenia says quickly. <I won't touch the girl. She's got a freaking tail blade, what could I do against her anyways? Unless I shoot her, of course...but I won't. I promise.>

Corliss nods.  "Alright, then.  Yeah, let's do this."  He looks around, bouncing anxiously on his heels.

<I have a bad feeling about this,> Mike sighs, as Corliss leans his body over the edge of the pool and starts to disengage.

<Let's hope we can hold her to her word,> Corliss says flatly, breaking contact with Mike's mind.

In a few moments he slithers and squirms out into the pool, and Mike, for what feels like the hundredth time in far too short a span, grudgingly lowers his ear to the water's surface.

Terenia lets out an internal gasp of surprise when Corliss actually leaves his host to her, for the second time within what couldn't be more than ten minutes. As if worried that he might change his mind she races into Mike's ear, taking slightly less care than the first time.

As she wraps herself around Mike's brain she immediately flips through Mike's memories of the last few minutes, focusing on where corliss was searching for her ship.

<Damn,> she comments as she realizes that he is likely correct. Just to be sure she propels Mike's body forward, back to the computers. Using his knowledge of the craft, she searches the area that her ship should be.

"Dammit, dammit, dammit," she says, this time out loud, fists clenching.

<Oh, also hi again,> she adds to Mike quickly.

Derrel hears Myitt's voice, and it sounds familiar. Not exactly like anyone he had heard, but it was kind of muffled. He also didn't quite see her well either. <Looks like we woke her up.>

"Too bad about the Taxxon. There's actually one Kevlin and I met recently that may or may not have a Yeerk. It's ok, though. What will your goal be now that you've changed your mind? Also, does anyone think we should investigate the recent explosion and lightning?"

<Not surprised,> Illim answers Derrel, fidgeting a little. <She looked dead on her feet when she left a little while ago.>

To Myitt he says, "Hey Myitt, it's Illim. I'm calling you with an update to my situation: I've found myself a new host." His voice unconsciously lowers, as if afraid he might wake her further.

"The reason it's safe, though," Elayne says, "is that unhosted Yeerks are... more or less useless. What are you going to do with them?" Her movement had never included many unhosted Yeerks; those who were were never much use. It was an unfortunate situation, but Yeerks truly needed hosts.

Ossanlin settles in across the table from Mar and regards the device.  <Strange...you mean that Salem person?  The one that tried to destroy me?>  Ossanlin makes a semi-disgusted face.  <I can't figure that one out.  He seems...off.  I wouldn't trust him or anything he's touched.>  Ossanlin sets his drinking-vessel on the floor and dips his hoof in, relaxing.  <Though if it can pick up on your own travails...perhaps it merely feeds off of your own mind?  You know everything it's showing you, yes?  Perhaps it's just playing off your own thoughts and memories?>

Ossanlin shrugs.  <I was actually wondering if you might share some of your own insight with me on a particular occurence...>  Ossanlin pauses, taking another sip, to hear Mar's response.
