It is, of course, next to impossible to sneak up on an Andalite, so Efaen saw Temrash coming long before he was within arms reach. It took her a second to place him in her mind as Temrash, the Hork-Bajir that had involved himself early in her arrival then disappeared. Recognizing his hostile posture she stiffens, bringing her tail upwards in defense. Surely no Hork-Bajir would... But he does, his fist coming up and forward towards her face with surprising speed for the arboreal species.
Efaen jerks back in surprise, his fist missing its intended target of her face and instead clipping her in the right shoulder, his wrist blade laying open a long gash.
<Ahh!> Efaen cries, more in surprise than pain. Instinctively she whips her tail forward in defense, aiming for his long, reptilian neck.
