Mar shakes his head at both Myitt and Ossanlin, as if refuting what they were suggesting. He did care about Ossanlin, somehow. He didn't know how long that would last, or even in what way. But he did. Mar begins to say, "Ossanlin, I..." while reaching out for him, but eventually takes to following the two of them.

"I simply have no experience whatsoever with these feelings, Ossanlin," states Mar. "None. The closest thing to it in my normal life is the relationship I have with my top Generals. I become upset when I hear that one of them has died, and seem to have some affection for them. Whatever I am experiencing here is stronger. And I am..."

Mar grits his teeth, his fangs showing. He doesn't like talking about this at all. "...conflicted about it. Do not make me think about what hurts my head. Simply do not leave your body and we may be done with this."

Corliss sighs, pocketing the comm link and turning off the holoscreen.

"Nothing for it," he mutters to the woods.  Mike is silent as they head back toward the bar.

---

Myitt stops and whirls around to face Mar.

"You don't need to follow me and complain about it," she snaps irritably.

Ossanlin looks up from the tree at Myitt, a bit flabberghasted.  <You want to be my friend...after I executed Tamora?  I had assumed...I had assumed we were not on good terms...>  Then Ossanlin looks over to Mar.  <You speak strangely Mar...do you mean to say that you...care...beyond my usefulness to you?>

"Yes, well, yesterday you denounced me because I had murdered Zorish, now you've effectively murdered the human girl," Myitt says dismissively.  "This is a war.  People are going to die.  I hate it as much as you do, but if I let it get in the way of my friendships...I wouldn't have very many friends."

Tara snorts internally.  <Like you're a social butterfly, anyway.>

Rayker held his gun low at his side. He hardly looked up at the commotion, lost in thought. Now what?

Lennan was the only squad member not totally entranced by Desmond's final defeat. He had seen his personal debts repaid. His plans for now were undecided. He wasn't worried, however; he could resume his prior life anywhere, anytime.

Mar stares from Myitt to himself, and then looks down at the ground. He does not meet anyone's gaze in the room and is not sure what he's supposed to say. "When Salem's ship nearly killed you, I became frantic and attempted to bring you help. I have no idea why I did this. You were not a necessary component of any of my manipulations, and my rational side stated that I'd be able to find you after you had died. My mortal body is distorting everything, changing the way I operate back to what it was very long ago."

Mar meets Myitt's gaze when he hears what she said and rolls his eyes. "...please apologize, first of all. I will do all the complaining that I wish, precious."

He then turns to Ossanlin and says carefully, with a slight grin, "...my hope is to manipulate Salem into taking something from me that will hurt him in the long run. In that way, your pain will be avenged. Plus, his resourcefulness could be useful you know."

As the comm link grows silent, Tora sets the glass down and slips the device back into her holster's pocket. Shifting on her barstool towards Al again, she gives the redin a wary look. "My apologies," she says, finally tearing her eyes from the drink to look at him.

When the newcomer came waving his gun she was at her father's side immediately. Flames licked around her wrists and hands which were ****ed in a claw like position.

Salem thought he may have heard Terenia say something as he left, but he couldn't make it out. He kept walking. She wasn't trying to kill him, and that was about as good as he could hope for with her. No sense in getting himself into her world any deeper.

He walked for a bit, finally coming to the clearing with the skimmer in it, but no real indication as to where Myitt may have gone. He wasn't about to just walk up and start knocking on doors. With a sigh, he pulled out his communicator to call Al.

***

Al smirked at Tora's reaction to her drink, then again when she apologized for taking to communication. "To answer your question, no, it's not a waste of money. Firstly, it's not my money. Secondly, I had a feature built in that lets me analyze a substance, and simulate its effects on me. One of the many advantages of designing your own new body. I get drunk when I feel like it," he said, grinning.

He took a swig of his own redin. "Whoa. Good stuff. I might have to figure out how to make this on my own." He glanced at Tora. "Might want to avoid going nuts on the stuff until you know what you can handle, though," he suggested.

Salem's communication came through into his head at that moment. "Hey, have you seen Myitt?" Salem asked.

Al looked at Tora. "Getting a call myself. Hold on a sec." He turned away and answered Salem's question with, "Myitt? The one who tried to kill us? What are you looking for her for?"

"Just want to talk to her."

"Sure you do," Al said. "In any case, she's not here at the moment, though my friend here was just talking to someone who was looking for her too. Want me to tell you if they find her?"

"Sure, thanks," Salem said, and cut communications.

"Sorry," said Al to Tora with a shrug. He took another swig of his drink.

After a bit of looking, Claxter wasn't sure where his Prince was. <Prince Ossanlin? It is Claxter. May I speak to you?> He said in open thought speech. Maybe he'd answer and tell Claxter where he was.

Morgan chuckled quietly. "Not to mention my spitfire daughter here," he said, "now, what do you want, son?"

Andromeda stayed back from the man who had come out with a gun. There was so much going on, she was beginning to feel a tad overwhelmed.

Tora's expression does not change as Al tells her about his ability, but she remarks, "That is impressive. I have never heard of an android being able to create any kind of experiential self-simulation."

When Al momentarily excuses himself from the conversation, she takes another tentative sip from her drink, cringing again. Despite the fact that it is polite in no culture she knows to eavesdrop, she cannot help but watch him and try to listen in as she picks up on Myitt's name.

Terenia walks a bit aimlessly, both hoping that she will run into someone and dreading it, until she finds herself back at the bar entrance. She stares at the door with trepidation and a bit of resentment. It is this place that brought on so much suffering, after all. Yet glancing around her she sees no one else, so her only options are to return to wandering through the woods, returning to the ship yard or entering the bar itself. She has a feeling that everyone will eventually find their way back to the dilapidated old building. They always do.

Pushing aside her reservations, Terenia pushes the door open and steps through. An immediate glance around the room reveals that none of those she is seeking are present. There is no Myitt, nor Ossanlin. There is no Corliss either, and she feels a slight ache at that fact, though she ignores it.

Tempted to turn around and walk away, Terenia instead resumes her stiff-legged stride up to the bar counter. She finds a bar stool that is removed from the general crowd and takes a sit. The bartender puts a glass of redin in front of her without bothering to take an order.

Corliss finally makes his way onto the broad gravel path of the shipyard, heading towards the lights of the bar.  He wonders idly just why he's stayed here so long; after all, he only showed up to look for his sibling.  What was it about this place that drew him in to stay so long?

How long had it been?  A few days, certainly.  A week?  Perhaps.  And yet how much had they lost in that time?

<Penny for your thoughts?> Mike asks.

"Oh," Corliss sighs aloud as he walks along, "just thinking.  About us.  Justin and Hadrin.  I don't like this place.  It brings too much death and destruction, especially for someplace that is meant to be a holiday spot."

Mike snorts.  <Some holiday...>

---

Myitt shakes her head.  I will not apologize to you, you smarmy bastard, her brain rebels, and she opens her mouth to say the words.

"I...I'm sorry, Mar," she says reluctantly, wondering why she would say such a thing to this horrible creature.

Al turned back to Tora smiling. "It sounds like there are a lot of things the Androids you're familiar with can't do. They sound like a bit of a drag to me, but I'm sure they'll get up to my level eventually. I'm not exactly exceptional technology where I'm from. Just... exceptional," He raised his chin and stared solemnly into the middle distance in a mocking imitation of excessive pride. He couldn't keep a straight face, however, and wound up laughing.

***

Salem sighed. He didn't know whether he'd really expected to find Myitt that easily or not. This wasn't exactly a big place, but it was more than big enough to lose someone in, apparently. He considered checking on the ship she'd been using, but he had a suspicion that it was Temrash's ship and she had borrowed it, not the other way around. Either way, he didn't want to risk running into Temrash. Of all the people on this rock, he was probably the one he'd pissed off more than Myitt or Terenia.

Or Ossanlin, he thought to himself. Andalite still thinks you tried to kill him.

He rolled his eyes at his behavior lately. He'd always been better at making enemies than friends. Difference was, he usually didn't have a reason to stick around. This bar was turning out to be too tempting to resist. He was less and less convinced that people just wound up here at random.

He remembered Mar's comment about more than one immortal having taken an interest in this place. Was that it? Was it just a game played by the immortals? Some form of entertainment? Or experiment? Had Nerphid, maybe, taken an interest in him and sent him here? If it really was immortals behind the bar and its patrons, it made it all the more tempting to stay and grab what he could. He didn't want to rush into things... but the potential gains were so tempting.

With a sigh, he turned and began walking across the shipyard towards his ship.
