Were the Andalites communists or something ?
« on: January 04, 2009, 06:48:02 AM »
(I know, communism is a human thing and so it can't really apply to Andalites but still, the books were written by a human as far as I know... so where does KA's ideas about the andalites social and political organization come from? )

I'm trying to sum up what I know about them :

°They didn't have money (nor something that we could associate with money)
°they seemed to share the tasks (one family makes this, one family makes that...)
°they didn't have jobs nor unemployment of course.
°People could vote... so it was quite democratic.

If someone has ever thought of that before... Express yourself here^^

Eh, there's not enough similarity in my opinion to call it Communism.  I'm not an expert on the subject or anything, but I think it would be considered something else.

Communism means that their govt. would own everything. They really have no economy because they eat grass and drink water and those are free commodities. I think its almost a tribal system. We never see how the govt. affects civilians on the Andalite home-world except that they have control over breeding when it comes to Andalites as seen in TAC. As for the stuff they build for each-other I think someone has to be regulating the whole process. If K.A. ever gets back on here, we should definitely ask her the specifics of how the Andalite world functions.

They had a very interesting form of government, I always wanted to know more about it but it was never expressed.  We saw a lot of andalites in the military but not many from the government.  I always kinda assumed the military was in charge because of war times.

Andalism...
I read "vandalism" at first  :P

Other things :
°They used to live in cities apparently
°They have a religion (it shocked me)
