The Next Generation of Fans
« on: October 10, 2008, 11:18:39 AM »
Is anyone else other than me worring about the future? We all want to see animorphs rise again, but maybe we need the help of the next generation of Anifans to do it. What do you think we should do to get another generation of Anifans going?

Hey, I offered to let my neice read 'em, but she wasn't interested. . . . But, then again, I told her to wait until I'm done rereading the books I have . . .

well we have the ebooks, so they won't go out of print...and hopefully we'll have audiobooks too for those who're blind...that's a start.

I haven't done much checking up on the audiobooks, but will you be having the narrator voice be what you think each Animorph may sound like? Like hearing male voices for the guy's books, and female voices for the girl's books?

uh...how to put this. the narrator will be voiced by whoever narrates the book. so if it's a jake, the narrator will be said by whoever plays jake. Spoken words (and thought speak) will be by whoever said it. so if Rachel said something, it will be said by the person who plays rachel.

I agree. If a movie is made, it could wake animorphs from its slumber. We Should encourage people to read this amazing series.

YES.  I don't even care if the movie sucks, so long as one gets made.

Okay, well, I do care if the movie sucks, but I just want the word to get out. D:

Easy, we make our kids read em.

When they want bed time stories, its time for Animorphs.

When they have show and tell days, its time for Animorphs.

Need to read a book for school? Animorphs!

School project? Why not do it on Animorphs?

...okay I'm done now

A movie would obviously be the quickest way to incite interest. Not only would that widen the fanbase, but it would also allow the books to go back in print. The problem with getting new fans is largely the fact that young fans can't get the books as readily as we could.

Unfortunately, who knows if there will ever be a movie ( :( ) or a high-quality tv series (a la Star Trek, SG, etc.)

So, until that miracle falls through it is up to us.

Unfortunately I think that some of the very nature of the Animorphs series will be a hindrance. A lot of newbies to the series, especially younger newbies, won't understand a lot of things: like the massive amounts of 90's references that made it so funny at times.

not necessarily. I didn't understand the references, but I still enjoyed the series.
