It feels strange and wrong that they would bring Loren back and do nothing with her, but kill off Tom who I'm sure many wanted to be reunited with Jake.

Even if they never used Loren after the book where she returned in, it would have still been fine if Tobias went to her after losing Rachel and Ax. It would have made some sense to bring her back then.

Or at the very least, have her become a nothlit and live with him. But no, she isn't even mentioned at the end. They bring her back to do nothing with her.

Yeah...the whole Loren thing was one gapping plot hole (unless I'm missing something).

And I'm actually glad Tom died in the end (though not happy with how it happened).  The goal (for Jake) was to save him for so long it would have been somewhat cliched for it actually to happen.

Tobias for not moving on with his life.  ::)

I mean, Jake had kind of the same problem, but for Tobias to stay a hawk was so infuriating.  I was practically yelling at the book, "Get over it already!"

Well given that situation I would have stayed a Hawk, but for entirely different reasons.
And I certainly wouldnt have been so morosely anti-social.

I agree that Cassie should have been with them, I guess KA wanted at least one of the Animorphs to survive. I don't see how it's Cassie's fault though, as Jake was the one who forced her to stay behind.

I suppose I didn't really even think of him...

Normally when people think Animorphs, they don't think of David. He should count, however, since he was a huge disappointment to the group. Part of the disappointment with David, though, is that he was wasted potential.

What I mean is, that in the book where he returns he could have returned as a villainous servant of crayak. I've mentioned this before, but he could have made a nice rouge villain that didn't side with the Animorphs of Crayak. He would fight the Animorphs to kill Jake, but he would also fight Yeerks and Visser Three. If for nothing more than blaming the Yeerks for screwing up his life.

There was another thread where that was implied - David possibly being "The One".  It was an interesting theory and worth a read (can't remember what thread it was though).

I have no idea how that would work. If he's still alive after he returns, he'd still be a mouse nothlit. That assumes Rachel didn't kill him.

I don't see how David could be the one; part of the one maybe, but know way the original.

And I know he's not an Animorph, but I gotta say, Visser Three's ending   sucked! Super warrior here just stops and sees; oh man, your not dead, and btw, it was traders who stopped me, not you. ARGH; it was so unfair, not giving a last grand battle, not even giving them credit it. not cool
Something, something, oh crap I pissed everyone off again....

Frustrating yes, but I believe that was the point.

Man, I wanted to see some sort of moment where the real Alloran breaks through the control and sacrifices himself/kills the Visser in one smooth tragic move.

I agree. It was frustrating, but it was why I feel it "real"... As I said in another thread, it made me remember the judgment of Klaus Barbie...
