This is where you talk about the Animorphs TV show and anything else related to it (including constant references to the books whenever you want to make them)

I actually really enjoy the TV show! I thought it was very ambitious despite its limitations in budget and how accurate they are allowed to get. (They certainly aren't going to be able to show the Animorphs getting gored or anything like that, of course.)

They had some interesting concepts that weren't in the books, like the escaped ex-Controllers that formed an underground resistance of their own. That was my favorite thing about the series.

Yeah, I really liked the concept in the show that Ax can see if someone's a controller by their eyes.

I think it was funny when they combined book 10 with book 28 in the episode where Erek is introduced and Ax is addicted to tv

I have a bit of a love-hate relationship with the TV show. I certainly wouldn't go as far as to call it good, but it did have a few good things going for it. The acting was pretty good most of the time, especially from the main cast (except for Brooke Nevin, who I never liked that much), and it definitely had a pretty good soundtrack at points. Also, I wouldn't even be at this forum at all if I didn't start a parody of the TV show and get dragged here by Adam. Thanks for that, by the way. On the other side of the coin, though, it was pretty obvious at times that the writers really didn't know what they were doing, and I think that was the biggest failure of the TV show. For example, the stuff with Elfangor's Disk was so horribly crowbar-ed in that they pretty much gave up on making sense of it by the end of the finale. The series also wasn't for lack of a better word, "deserving" of the Animorphs title. I really have no problem with original plot lines or a different atmosphere, but when the only things that the television show has in common with the books are the characters' names and the basic plot setup, especially after the first half of the first season, I don't really think it should share the name. Despite my complaints, though, the series wasn't the worst thing ever like a lot of Animorphs fans seem to think it was. At least, aside from the second season, that was terrible. Overall, I don't really think it was the most horrible thing to ever exist, but more a massive waste of opportunity.

i never really watched it when it was on tv. seen a few eps via youtube but imho it wasnt really....good. i mean the actors/actresses for the main cast they had i actually liked. i mean that mostly physically because that was generally how they were described and generally how i had imagined them, and even some of the dialogue script was well written for the characters ( but not always well spoken or acted). But trying to squeeze plots from multiple books into one coherent storyline, or picking storylines that are gonna involve alot of CG without a decent CG budget when you know that the budget will already have been spent on just the basic morphs of the main characters, just didnt work for me.
In a related side note, did anyone play the animorphs playstation game and was it any good. i never got to play it and havent yet found a decent working rom for it.

I've played it all the way through, actually. It's certainly the best out of the three Animorphs games, although considering its competition, that's not saying much :P . I certainly wouldn't recommend playing through it in one sitting like I did, but it's a pretty decent if somewhat frustrating platformer. Just don't expect it to have anything to do with the story of Animorphs and you should be good.

Wasn't the PSX game just like a Crash Bandicoot clone sort of thing?

The PC game was kinda-sorta okay for what it was.  Cheap cash-in, sure, but worth checking out for fans.

Person Of Interest re-watch.  Still stunning as ever.

Yeah, it ripped off Crash Bandicoot pretty hard, even down to some of the character animations. I honestly hated the PC game. It really wasn't a game for me so much as a hand-holding simulator. :P

So back on topic, this thread got me curious as to what they actors/actresses are doing now.
obv Shawn Ashmore (Jake) has been pretty successful with the Iceman role in the Xmen movies (most recently seen in days of future past).
Brooke Nevin (Rachel) is still acting (most recently seen in CSI).
Paulo Costanzo (Ax) is still acting, (currently seen in Royal Pains).
Eugene Lipinski (V3) I most recently saw in the syfy remake of Alice.
Boris Cabrera (Marco) according to the wiki page is now a personal fitness instructor.
Christopher Ralph (Tobias) I cant find much on other than his acting in warhouse 13 in 2011.
Nadia Nascimento (Cassie) ...well all I found was this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4MQd3ynCsXI
If anyone can help out with further info it might be interesting.

Yeah, they're all up in the faraway exotic land of Ca-Na-Da doing their local production stuff.  Nevin shows up randomly in a bunch of made-for-TV type of movies all the time.  Eugene "Visser 3" Lipinski is the Russian mobster dude on Arrow, etc.

Person Of Interest re-watch.  Still stunning as ever.

Eugene was also a minor character in Fringe while it was on the air.

Random side-note: there was an episode of Royal Pains were they were joking about Paulo Costanzo's character being a stripper and someone gave him the stripper-name "Cinnamon."  I can't help but think that was a nod to Ax.  :XD:

Yeah, he was great on Fringe.  :)  Hell of a show, too.

Haha, the Ax thing's pretty funny too!
