I think that's WHY people like Ax and while he's not as fun to read about for the younger crowd, once I read his books when I was older I LOVED them.
Another reason is that younger people wouldn't get a lot of the reference jokes. I hadn't read Animorphs in a good three years now, and I just came back to it, and now I get all the jokes I didn't get before. Also, I now know what The Nanny is, which was vital to understand for #26. lol
