Title: Autobiographies, Historical Texts, Documentaries written in Post-War Earth
Post by: TobiasMasonPark on May 22, 2013, 11:05:51 PM

I was goofing around today and started writing a possible Animorphs 55*, and I got to thinking about war-related literature on post-war earth. From what I can remember, all the Animorphs wrote something (I think Tobias wrote one on birds, but I might have just invented that memory), but what about other people? Have professional historians contributed something? What about memoirs former hosts? How about diaries?

This thread is for possible book titles that might appear in the post-war earth of the Animorphs universe. I don't know if this has been done before--my apologies if it has. And I wouldn't use any of your ideas unless you guys were willing.

     Here are some of mine:

     1) "Miracles Don't Happen", by Saddler's mother or father, or other relative; about the strange disappearance of their eldest son.
1.2) "The Boy Who Just Up and Left"; a documentary and part in a series outlining the disappearances occurring during the Yeerk invasion. This one would be about Saddler.

     2) "The Seventh Animorph" by David [Harris]**; a biographical account of David's life prior to and following the Animorphs.

     3) "Happy Meal with Extra Happy, and other stories"; an expose on the horrors seen in the Yeerk pool underneath a MacDonald's and other places.

     4) "The Oatmeal Wars" by Jake Berenson; his account of the war.***

     5) "Under Our Own Roof"; by Jean and Steve Berenson; on how they had no idea of the role their two sons played in the war.

*Most likely won't go anywhere.
** That's the name I decided to give David--guess how I came up with it?
*** Yea, I know, it's unlikely that Jake would have written it, given his PTSD.

My titles suck, but there are some concepts I sure would have liked to see (Really like the one on Jake's parents btw. Would love to see Tom ignorance of Jake being wound into it too.)

The Earth Diaries of Aximili-Esgarrouth-Isthill  Tweaked the title just a touch, but should be fertile ground.

Pacifist at War Let Cassie but all her moral gripings in one place. They aren't bad, but they were always out of place to me.

Power: The Rise and Fall of Visser Three Or whatever name/rank is most appropriate, but every evil villian should have a detailed bio. Give him something to do in Kanas too.

How Every Significant Event in Human History was Actually a Contribution of Alien Androids It would be spectacular if Erek wrote a book. series.

I especially liked the last one :p It would be unlikely though, as the Chee seem really big on keeping themselves a secret. Still, a good idea though

Insatiable: The Untold Story of the Taxxons- a history of the Taxxon's and their relation to the Yeerks, and the genesis of their rebellion against their masters.

The Silent Observer- the story of the rise and fall of Visser One and the origins of the Yeerk invasion as told by Visser One's host.

"Voluntary"; the war from the perspective of a voluntary host. Would be a sympathetic look at voluntary controllers, since they got so much flack in the series, especially by the Animorphs.

I actually wrote a fanfic about that, back in the day. I always thought voluntary controllers had a bad reputation.

Mistaken Identity: A Story of Power, Corruption, and Genocide This probably wouldn't gain much popularity, but it describes the war, and its inevitable conclusion, from the perspective of one of the Yeerk nothlits.

I was derping around and reading some long forgotten threads and noticed a thread with the very same topic as this--and one I've commented on before...Many times, in fact. I just forgot about its existence.

Mods, you may merge this if you wish.
