I thought this would make an interesting poll. Both characters are funny in there own way. You have Marco with his sarcasm and stating the obvious. And Ax who seems to either stumble upon humor accidentally or makes a really funny observation or lacks understanding about humanity in general. Either way, cast your vote and post some of your favorite lines to make your point! :)

i can't think of a good line right now, but i know that ax was imo the funniest guy in the book

You can't forget the classic "Yes-No" conversation.
"What is your name?"
"No."
"Your name is No?"
"Yes."
"That's an unusual name, isn't it?"
"No."
"I'm confused."
"Yes."

Which one is funnier? Sometimes they're funny at the same time, like one of the last lines in the Leeran homeworld book that revolved around the word yanked.
I'd probably say Ax. As a character I like Marco better, but Ax can be funnier.

as a character i would have to say ax and marco were about even in my book, neither of which being m favourite..(i'm a tobias kinda guy! haha).
but i think the ax-man was funnier. :)

I find more and more often that I THINK like Marco, so his humour is just what I'd've said in that situation, anyway, whether or not I found it FUNNY.
Ax, however, invariably sends me into fits of hysterics. Gotta' love 'im! ;D

Well, I dunno. I think most Marco humor is on purpose whereas Ax's isn't. And when Ax attempts "human humor" he fails XD So, I think that Marco is funnier.

Both are way too hilarious, with different styles, so I can't decide. They've both given me plenty of giggles while reading through the series :P

Ya, Marco and Ax make quite the comedy team. Ax in human morph just kills me. It makes you appreciate things. I confess that when I eat some of my favorite foods (i.e. Ice cream, cake) I wonder how Ax would react eating it. Then I realize that's no stretch of the imagination... lol

I think Ax is better. Plus he sort of reminds me of my self: when I cannot understand human behavior, pop culture, or slang or exactly how to work a toaster oven (seriously there are none in my house) or how humans stand up stright on two legs with no tail.

That's a tough one! I voted Marco because I love his sarcasm and his jokes (and his fights with Rachel!), but Ax is hilarious because he doesn't know how funny he is, or even that what he says or does is funny ;)

I vote for Ax. He's funny even when he doesn't make an effort to be. Marco on the other hand always tries to be funny and just ends up being annoying.

I'm going to go with Ax. I mean, what's funnier than seeing a creature with an IQ of 325 turn into a complete idiot around food? (Not his fault, of course, but still.)
If I went on to list all the reasons I'd be here all night. But yeah, Ax.

I liked Marco's previous prank at that girls pool party in MM1, when he floated the babe ruth bar in the pool and said it was a turd!

Marco. As it has been said, a lot of funny moments are them together. If Ax and Marco were a comedy duo, Marco would be the speaker, the one who delivers the punchlines, and the one who playfuly insults Ax.

I don't care, they're great comic foils for each other. Marco is like the straight man who understands everything, and Ax is the one who, after 60 books, can't figure out how humans can walk on two legs, wear shoes, and disapprove of eating cigarette butts.

My vote goes to Ax as well. Marco is alright and he is pretty funny, but it just doesn't beat Ax's awkward attempts at humor and the things he says he doesn't even realize are funny.
Especially after he gets a tv. Whenever he tries to copy things from tv, or mentions 'These Messages' and 'the Young and Restless' I crack up. And of course, lets not forget his playing with words, especially the classic "cinnamon buns. Bunzuh zuh zuh." Too funny. XD

My beautiful french-visser-wife is correct. I always enjoyed Marco and Ax together as a team. But if I had to pick one I would pick Ax. The alien in our culture always makes me laugh.
