Title: Animorphs Paraparaphernalia
Post by: RYTX on June 06, 2008, 12:40:22 AM
So what's in your possession that has the Animorphs name stamped on it?

I have all the books (and ebooks, yay), seconds of #1 and TAC, six hours of the TV show, taped, about 8 of those tranformer toys they made (several that are missing parts :-[), the little cube toy from KFC, some bookmarks and stickers, and the console and PC games. oh! and the board game (forgot about that one)
I think that's it.

Lets see....

hard copies of all of the books. Double of MM2 and the Spanish edition of #4.

Season 1 of the TV show. All of the posters they released, the iron-on t-shirt stamps (I never ironed) that were in #5, bookmarks, stickers, my necklace and "starter kit" from the club thingie (I forget its name), the planner, and....well, you know what. Here:

This is all of my Animorphs stuff besides the books. According to the photo it was taken in October of 99 (when I was 13), and I still have everything there plus what they came out with since. :) The only thing I never got were the Transformers and the video games.

Sorry the image sucks...it's a picture of a picture. :)

I have nearly all the books, I had them all, but lost seven of the books, I have doubles of a few books also.

And an animorphs t-shirt which rocks my socks.

I used to have a Tobias transformer, but this stupid girl who said she was my friend sold it at a garage sale for 30 cents   >:(  :'(

so you know..

All the books except for Alternamorphs #2, the PC game, and Meet the Stars.

And if we're talking unofficial stuff, my eraser that I wrote "Animorphs" on so many times in pen that it's now on there permanantly.

There is a paperback HBC, but that's rarer then the hardcover.
And I think the bulk of the series had a hardcover addition somewhere. (I think) and if so those are HELLA hard to find :P

They were printed by some company named Perma-Bound.
And I do possess the paperback HBC :P.

Wow. All of you are so lucky.

I have four books: #33, #45, The Hork-Bajir Chronicles, and Visser.

Also known as the books my library was missing.

I read them from the library, and bought the ones they didn't have. That's all I have Animorphs. Lame, I know, don't remind me.

I have a few books scattered around my room. I had the action figures but I sold them(and lost the Tobias one which was my favorite :-[ ) I have the first 3 episodes on DVD, the Anibase on my computer, I'm downloading a torrent for both seasons right now, I have a lot of animorph graphics I've made in photoshop, the David Trilogy cover I made for my AVID class(it go an "A" BTW), and an old white chocolate pretzel container I got at my elementary school Mardi Gras festival a really long time ago(honestly, if it hadn't been for the giant A on the lid, I never woulda known it was animorphs related LOL I just wanted it cuz the lady said it had white chocolate covered pretzels in it. I'll post a picture when I find it)

Luck isn't the point. The libraries in France usually don't have the Animorphs. And if I have so many books, it's because I bought them when they arrived in France, and looked for them in many shops and on Internet. I made some of them come from Canada, USA and Australia...
Needed researches and money. Now you can understand why I wanna hit anybody who quickly turn the pages of my books to see the morphing on the bottom...

I have the book ends that came with the set 1-7, the poster that came with it, the post card that was in book 9, and i have no clue what happened to my Ax bookmark from book 8, which upsets me :-\

i have 13 books....14 if you count Meet the Stars.  None of them are the ones i bought myself..my original ones were given away by my mom to the thrift store when she went on a cleaning spree :( Hopefully they're making some kids happy somewhere lol. These 14 were given to me by someone on here, which i appreciate so much.  But i feel awful because i can't remember who it was...it was like fall 2007-spring 2008 (i know it was sometime during that period because of the dorm room i was in when i opened the package lol).....i'm not sure if the person still posts here or not :( i do remember thanking him(her?...can't remember if it was a guy or girl lol) though in a PM

i have the game boy color game..that one is the original one i bought myself years ago.

and unofficially, i have the drawings of the characters i made when i was little..i need to do them over, i've gotten better at drawing now lol...so re-doing them will make up for these old drawings being so bad lol

I have #1-52, Megamorphs #1-4, Hork-Bajir Chronicles, Andalite Chronicles, both Alternamorphs.

I had the Ellimist Chronicles but I think my mom donated it to the library.  >:(

I never had Visser because it was hardback. I hadn't read it until the e-book, so I was thankful for that.

I used to have a double copy of #34, but we donated one to the library. I thought it was silly to have two copies when there's another Anifan out there that might not have read it.

I joined a club which sent me two books a month and posters, iron on transfers, calendars, etc.

It was so cool...I wish I'd kept all the stuff :( :(

I still have the books...not all of them though.

I don't understand how your parents can sell or donate your books! I mean, you aren't the only one I read saying "my father/mother gave/sold my Animorphs books", and I'm always: "What?!"
They are your books, your parents don't have to check and sell/donate without asking you! My parents would never do that, they never did! They always asked me if they wanna sell something who is mine, or better: usually they tell me: "Check what you wanna sell/donate in your things" ;) And that since I'm a kid!
If they touch any of my books without asking me, I'd hit them and leave the house!

I can't help thinking that the author was extremly furious at the fact that schoolastic was using her series as a springboard for cheap murchandise for financial gain. I think in the long run all this tarnished the series reputation and made it seem like a stupid kids book to the outside viewer.

That's why we need a movie. To set the record straight with the general public.

Are you kidding me?

If KA cared so much about the integrity of the series she shouldn't have quit when the series was in its prime. The first two cycles of ghostwritten books (25-30 and 31-35 minus 34) were good, but the books up until #45 were famously weak and almost entirely filler. Even MARCO had a weak book (#40 wasn't nearly as good as it could've been and it was kind of random for it to be given to Marco, who almost always had books directly related to the plot) and he was KA's admitted favorite.

It's OBVIOUS which books she spent more time reviewing and which ones she didn't.
