Al laughed easily in response to Parker's question, "He's a very cautious guy. Changing his name is just an extra layer of security." He grinned, "I'm pretty sure 'Tobias' isn't his real name any more than 'Salem' is." He shrugged, "I think part of it is just that he occasionally decides to cast off his old life and be someone new. Names can have a pretty strong influence on a person's belief in themselves." He winced as more shots were fired nearby. He gestured in the general direction of the gunfight, "For example, this whole mess is a lot more 'Tobias' than 'Salem.'"

Salem dipped to a knee as Rathien's first shot ignited the air to his left, his momentum causing him to roll forward. It was a good shot; had the projected shadow actually been Salem, it would have hit him square in the shoulder. He dipped his head and held his breath just in time to avoid catching a face-full of the earth that had exploded upwards at the Entroper's shot. Rathien's second shot sizzled through the air to his right so closely that he could feel the heat from the reaction that was an artifact of the beam.

Not bad, he thought, but a little too bold.

As he rolled through the edge of yet another explosion of debris, he twisted himself and managed to land in a semi-standing position, facing back the direction he'd come from. The view of the bar was still mostly obscured by dust and dirt, but Salem's visualization device allowed him to see through it clearly enough. Rathien was on the roof. He loved his higher places. Like fighting a Hork-Bajir. What's more, he was still visible.

As his weapon swung around to face the bar, he used his free hand to twist the power setting to maximum. He squeezed off a quick shot, not aiming for Rathien, but for the roof of the bar under his feet. With the power at maximum, the roof would explode outward, throwing wood shrapnel in all directions.

Always thought this place could use a skylight.

Tamora winces at the sound of further shots coming from the direction of the bar. With a terrified glance behind her she sprints up the ramp and onto Myitt's Bug.

"I really hate this place," she gasps, coming to a halt just inside the cabin.

Parker sees the shot made at the building itself. He reels with anger and shoots a shotgun round in front of Tobias; mostly to get his atteniton. He yells out, "What the hell do you think you're doing? There are people in that building. People who have nothing to do with your fight. Leave them out of your squabbles!"

He shoots a look to Al and says, "Whatever trap you set up for your boss, tell him to spring it now; because if he keeps endangering people like this, he's gonna have two dangerous people coming after him."

Garreth was enjoying the steak the bartender brought him; but something felt uneasy. The fight had progressed outside; but he still felt like he was in danger. He stood up slowly and suddenly the roof exploded. Garreth drew his light sabers and blocked any pieces that almost hit him. He looked around to see if anyone had been hurt.

Claxter sees Salem shoot the roof of the building, where Rathien is. Frankly, he agreed with Parker. <<He's chasing Rathien. Perhaps if we can get rathien away from the building, Salem will continue to follow.>> He said privately.

Jocun flinched as the shot hit the building. "Great. It's outside, but still close enough for the building to take damage."

Zoshonel flew up to the roof from a side where the firing wouldn't hit him. If Rathien wasn't knocked off the roof, he may need to help him leave.

Illim flinches at the sound of more destruction emanating from the already-dilapidated building and swiftly follows Tamora and Myitt up the ramp and onto her familiar ship. Shoving hands in his pockets, he stands in the hull's opening, watching the dust fly from the Bar. "Geez, they don't know when to stop, do they," he mutters, wandering deeper into the ship and lazily slouching into the weapons console chair.

Serid cannot help but duck, his hands flying upward to protect his neck and head as the destruction of the Bar threatens his safety. He hurries after Ossanlin, exhaling sharply in relief once he's in the relative quiet of the hallway. <<Thank you, sir,>> he murmurs privately, glancing back at the debris and dust filling the main room behind him, lowering his arms back to his sides. <<Will you remove the Dracon from me?>> he asks. <<It is still effective, of course, although I know it is hardly standard issue for the military.>>

Al raised an eyebrow, but didn't waste time wondering how Parker knew he'd set a trap. Even if he'd expected an honest answer, he wasn't exactly interested. The violence at this bar- especially that perpetrated by Salem- was beginning to grate his nerves.

"I think this is out of my hands at this point," he said to Parker. He frowned, trying to think of a way out of this, and looked concernedly in the direction of Salem. He couldn't really see the trader, but he started running through ideas in his head all the same.

Parker saw Al's eyebrow raise. Apparently Parker's intuition about Al's disappearance before was spot on. His eyebrow was all the affirmation he needed. He heard Al's excuse and ****ed his head saying, "Please, you're a construct, he has an amazing array of advanced tech. You're telling me you can't send him a message? Encourage him to move the fight along? Tell him that anymore stalling is causing him to gain more enemies?" Parker straightened his head and lowered his gaze a tad to show emphasis on the last "question".

~Ossanlin~

Ossanlin watches with his stalk eyes as a portion of the bar explodes behind him.  He glances to the right with his main eyes and sees the long-haired humanoid roll off the back.  He meets the being's eyes for a moment before he springs off into the forest.  Ossanlin shakes his head and continues in the opposite direction.  It is not his fight and he has no desire to help either being in truth.  If anyone, he'd help this Rathien person over Salem, but they seem to have a personal grudge match in progress.  Not the kind of conflict to stick one's tail into.

He veers towards the Mirage's location and trots at a somewhat stately pace so that Serid can keep up without rushing.  <I would prefer you use a weapon appropriate to your station...you do not serve the Empire.  If you must keep it in your possession, I would prefer you keep it concealed or stored.  Your...situation... is unique.  It will be difficult, you understand.  It will be even more difficult for your peers to accept you if you walk around brandishing a Yeerk weapon.>

___________________ ___________________ ___________________ ___________________ ___________________ ______________

~Rathien~

Rathien watches the aftermath, his weapon still leveled.  The Draconian has emerged from the bar as well as another of the humans brandishing some sort of stable energy weapons.  He senses movement, as he'd thought, Tobias had used some  sort of projection coupled with his light-bending cape.  Rathien kicks and rolls backward, the bar roof exploding out from under him.  He pulls his cape around himself and the fabric combined with his flex-plate armor is able to deflect the sharp shards of wood.  He drops off the back of the roof and lands on one leg in a crouch,  He reholsters his weapon and glances over and noticing the large male Andalite from inside.  He locks gazes for a moment before leaping off into the woods.  After he's obscured by the treeline, he jumps up and swings into the branches, ascending to the treetops.

He sits on a canopy branch, shielded from the ground by branches and the thick foliage of the trees.  He pulls out his medkit and removes a small vial of omni-cell.  He loads it into his injector and unwraps the armor plate from his shin, pulling up his pant leg.  He injects the omni-cell liquid into the center of the impact zone.  It should be able to mend his hairline bone fractures in an hour, perhaps even more quickly since the multiple hairlines can be repaired simultaneously.  He replaces his injector and medkit into its pouch and pulls the pant-leg back down, wrapping the flex-plate back into place.  His breathing has stabilized after the short rest in the trees and he leans his head back against the trunk.  A dull ache radiates from his injured leg as the omni-cell knits his bone back together.

~Raile~

Raile lands several feet away in a crouch lightsabers still in his hands, but still unignited.  He watches as Garreth reacts to Rathien and tries to project that he himself is uninjured, merely wary and ready if the fight turns outwards.

Zoshonel remained on the roof. At least Rathien was not drawing Salem's fire towards the bar anymore. He considered just keeping his distance. If he went into the woods, he could wind up getting shot by accident.

Claxter waited to see if Slame would chace Rathien some more, or leave. he didn't want to go into the firest where his vision and movement would be impare.

Garreth senses the Ildari leave and extinguishes his sabers. He sees Raile and confirms the feelings broadcast by him. He shakes his head and sits back down at his table. He returns to his meal.

Al laughed. "I could tell him by waving my arms and yelling from here," he said to Parker, indicating Salem's vicinity with his hand. "That's not really the part of communicating I'm concerned about here."

He flinched as an exploded chunk of roof beam plowed into the dirt not five feet from where he was standing. With a brief glance skywards, he started walking back towards the bar. "Maybe I'll see if I can't liven this place up a bit," he muttered, half to himself and half to Parker. "A little entertainment might do everyone some good."

Salem watched closely for a second as Rathien made his way off the roof of the bar, but was distracted by a shot fired in his direction. He turned and glared at Parker as the soldier yelled something about the people in the bar. From what Salem had seen, the bar had nearly emptied, and it wasn't likely a few splinters would cause any real harm anyway.

So... was Parker actually in league with Rathien? It still seemed entirely likely.

Just a trigger-happy busybody, or in this for a reason? he thought. Not that it mattered. He'd take care of soldier and hunter both if it came to that.

When he looked back up at the roof of the bar, there was no sign of Rathien. He cursed and skated off in the direction the hunter had seemed to be moving, into the woods.

Salem moved as quietly as possible, keeping his cloak on so that he appeared as little more than a ripple, though occasionally the invisibility would falter and his face or hands would seem to ghost into existence for a second or two. He kept his weapon drawn and peered into the trees. He was beginning to understand just how much Rathien liked to position himself above his surroundings. He didn't know if the Ildari had fled back to his ship or back into the bar or if he might be watching from the trees above at that very moment, unseen and unheard. It was nerve-wracking, and exciting, though not in a good way.

For several minutes, he looked, but soon decided this was an exercise in futility. Trying to find a single being hiding in the forest would be hard enough even if it wasn't Rathien. He sighed and began to make his way back towards the bar. He soon smirked, however, and changed direction, moving steadily towards Rathien's ship.

As Tobias skated off, Parker stowed his shotgun. He followed the construct and replied, "Now what would be the point of yelling out, 'Tobias, draw him to the trap I set up,' when his enemy is in shouting distance as well? It would only cause their little battle to continue further."

He then replied to Al's second statement, "I think a period of non-violence would suffice to bring back the energy of this place." He stopped next to Zoshonel and asked, "So how've you been old friend?"

~Rathien~

Rathien leans his head back, listening for any sounds that would be out of the ordinary in a forest setting.  Of course Tobias was good, he wouldn't make much sound, but then Rathien could hear a mouse fart out of turn.  After several minutes of nothing but natural background noise, Rathien lifts his head and looks down around him.  Of course his vision is obscured by the foliage as much as that of anyone trying to look up, and he sees nothing.  Tobias had started this in the bar...somewhere he apparently cared something about.  He wouldn't give up now, not after showing his cards.  The tri's had been dealt, but the quarten and quintic were still to come, and neither would know who held the winning hand until the end.  Tobias wouldn't leave before the deal was complete...not after laying so many chips on the table.

He flexes his leg which feels much better already.  His hip still strains under the pressure, but nothing would help it more than moving, keeping it from stiffening up.  His confusion settles in deeper...where was Tobias?  Suddenly Rathien's liberated ARC sends a private thought-speech alarm to him.  His ship's proximity detector...  Rathien snarls and lifts himself to his feet, taking off through the canopy.  Like it or not, Rathien's ship is his only way off this rock, not to mention all of the precious supplies it contains...he winces at the thought of his multi-phase rifle in the hands of that two-faced 'verse-hopper.

He glides deftly, silently, and easily from branch to branch, ghosting through the tree canopy toward his ship.  He circles a bit wide to come at his landing point from a slightly unexpected direction and watches the ground for any glimpses of Tobias or his trail.  Most likely the trap the Android lackey had set would be near his ship...Tobias has the technology to fool Rathien's proximity detector for at least a short while.  The artificial abomination could've used that window to set up something nasty.  He would have to take care near his ship.  The fact that Tobias was not concealing himself from the detector meant the blade actually wanted Rathien to come.  Despite knowing that, he has no choice in the matter.  Given enough time, Tobias could and would hack into his ship, which is quite simply beyond unacceptable.

~Raile~

Raile watches as the fight moves elsewhere and shakes his head, placing both sabers back in their respective places.  He steps through the door again, ignoring the gaping hole in the wall.  He walks to the table Garreth is sitting at and motions to the BT to bring him another drink.  "May I?" He asks, gesturing at a seat not quite across the table from his newfound companion.

"This place is not extremely likable to most sane people," Myitt replies to Tamora, fishing around in the storage room for what meager supplies they can afford to give to her. She pulls out a cardboard box, sniffs it, shrugs and starts tossing Kandrona generators and nutrient packets into it. Along with the Yeerkish necessities comes a pile of protein packets and a few vacuum sealed packs of freeze dried fruit.

She hauls the box back out into the cabin and shoves it into Tamora's hands. "Here. This should get you both by for a few months at least, if you ration intelligently."

Garreth nodded, wordlessly. The food was still in his mouth. After chewing well and swallowing, he said, "Of course, your company is always welcome. That certainly was a tense moment. You did well."
