Things are still under discussion, but I wanted to add something as well.
None of us wants to be the GESB Police, but you all need to obey the guidelines. Okay, they're rules now. I think we've been more than tolerant in waiting for some of you to adopt the correct method of posting, but there's a difference between having to adjust to a different way of writing and just not trying.
Please post in 3RD PERSON! Present tense is preferable, but past tense is acceptable. This is right in the middle of the rules post guys. Read them again.
i.e. Instead of 'I walked up to the bar and the Bar Tender handed me a drink...' (wrong)
Write '{character name} walks up to the bar and the Bar Tender hands him a drink.' (right)
I won't name names...those of you who write in first person know who you are, and everyone else does too if they know two things about writing. I'm not requesting that you change it, I'm telling you to change it ASAP. It is very confusing to others who read your posts, especially if you have more than one character. Writing in third person makes it easy to see which character is talking or acting, without the confusion brought on by multiple characters and without having to try and remember which character belongs to which player. This problem is exacerbated by those of you who ditch characters after a couple of weeks and switch.
Thank you for your cooperation.
