Wow, I'm back. Erm, I'm in mid conversation with Ogreon, that may have changed. Going to check the RP itself real fast, and, uh, will catch up. XD
Ok, I posted. "Chaasi" is pretty much Van's approximation of "is that right?" or, "right, right?". He's basically just trying affirm whether he'd be of any help to Ogreon. Eheh. That might be... messy. The guy is trying to find ways to make himself useful, since there's no reason to try to do anything illegal. Fact being, there's no place to go, and nobody he knows.
Interestingly, judging from the description of Elayne, she probably looks a lot like somebody he knows. This makes the sight of Mar and her being together even more jarring for poor Van. It's made worse by the fact that the impression she decided to give him was, uh, a lot like this person, as well.
Basically, if Mar gets a brain, and somehow remembers who Van is, he could easily proceed in messing up the guy's experience here using this. Or, considering how keen I know Mar is, he could just guess and roll with it.
Ah, messing with people. Van's great at it, but right now he's a little confused and possibly quite vulnerable, now! This is not something he likes being, and he isn't going to admit that this is how he's feeling right now. I blame the gravimetric torpedo on the Urtahn, that really threw him for a loop.
