Sorry for being gone--- Things have been...kinda weird for us lately. We've finished a joint novel with two other people, and I'm...really nervous about the direction the partnership is taking. I don't know why, but I need to get that sorted out. As for Mar, the One, and Ike...I guess the ball IS in my court.
Hm. I don't know if Ike
himself can stop Nyr and his Dawn Shard, but I think that Ike's
actions might. Ike is under the control of a Power greater than Ike himself, who has a vested interest in keeping Zuhnto's weird-ass "Mar" persona under his control. That Power is quite strong. I think for the game to be fair the control has to stick, but that Nyr's actions do in fact trigger something.
I'm not sure what I'm going to write here, but it ought to be interesting.
EDIT: Posted. So basically GESB Mar will return to being his glorious **** of a self (XD), but he'll still be convinced he's the One's partner or servant. Nyr did successfully impale Mar, but the problem is that he
successfully impaled Mar with a sword. XD Mar might be an avatar of the man of wealth and taste, but he's still very much human and mortal and killable. Hopefully someone can help him. XD
Nyr did sever enough of the connection to result in that crazy magic land conversation between the One's projection and Mar (And like Crayak, I count the One Himself as a Highest), but the bastard doesn't give up that easily. So it has instead pointed out that technically the One wants the same thing Highest Mar does at his core: A world free of greater Meaning, cruelty, and judgment. The result is a shifted relationship between the One and its avatar servant.
I think this does justice to both Ike's actions and Nyr's efforts.
Ossanlin, it's your call whether Nyr gets shot or not. But I'm assuming here that he did get distracted.
