Correct:Johnny looks around the little planetoid, noticing a strange building less than a mile away. He checks over his clothing self-consciously, fingering the butt of his Dracon before setting off. As he enters the building, he sees myriad races amongst the dirt and general grime of the bar atmosphere. He strolls up to the bar counter and orders a drink, smiling at the girl down the bar.
Incorrect:I looked around the planetoid and noticed a strange building less than a mile away. I checked over my clothing self-consciously, fingering the butt of my Dracon before setting off. As I entered the building, I saw myriad races amongst the dirt and general grime of the bar atmosphere. I strolled up to the bar counter and ordered a drink, smiling at the girl down the bar.
If everyone referred to themselves as "I", it would get very confusing as many people have more than one character, so in the interest of ease of understanding and cooperative writing, we ask that you please refer to your character in the third person, as if you were a narrator speaking your character's actions as he/she performs them.
