I've always been a fan of Ax always calling Jake Prince, even when he didn't want him to. I wonder if Ferxal might call Keslin by some title on the grounds that he doesn't want to just call someone he's expected to follow orders from by his regular name. Something like Commander Keslin. You think that would be worth it?

I'm not sure what title an Andalite would use beyond 'Prince', but even that would probably strike Keslin as both hilarious and utterly irritating. XD

I don't think he'd use the title Prince. That would denote something he probably wouldn't want to associate with a Yeerk. Since we have Command Warrior, a simple Commander shouldn't be too out of place.

I wonder what Ossanlin would say about Ferxal's comment about hacking off Hork-Bajir blades. Of course he's trying to think of ways to neutralize enemies without killing them, but can still come off as cold.

That little quip about how Ossanlin wanted to say something but didn't in order to avoid usurping Keslin's command was in response to the hacking off blades comment.  Being that the Hork-Bajir are, by nature, a peaceful race and need their blades in order to climb, and peel bark (in order to eat), he doesn't find the "hacking off blades" solution to be acceptable...just as he wouldn't find it any more acceptable to hack the limbs off of humans.

Yeah, Ferxal has a misunderstanding of what the blades are for. As an Ani fan I'm aware of the disastrous results that attempt could have. My character just figures they'd grow back eventually, and it would all be fine. I'm not sure whether or not he knows they eat bark, though having him not know what they eat may be taking it too far. Even if he doesn't know how they harvest and eat it.

Oh I have no doubt you know what you're talking about when it comes to Animorphs...I'm pretty sure you know more than I do.  I just wanted to clarify the reasoning behind Ossanlin's opinion.  I.E. he doesn't think it's wrong to hack off the blades just because it's hacking off body parts...he thinks it's wrong because it would destroy the Hork-Bajir's potential quality of life.

It would probably be a bit much for Ferxal not to at least know what Hork-Bajir eat.  I'm assuming that's gonna be some pretty basic biology classes in the Academy.  Whether or not he paid attention to the finer details makes the lack of knowledge of "peeling" more believable.

Of course given his Drill Sergeant Nasty Prince, Foosal would likely say the only thing you need to know about a Hork-Bajir is how to kill it.
