Utzum
« on: August 16, 2012, 12:27:11 AM »
In book 33, when Taylor is torturing Tobias almost to death and making him nearly insane, he is saved by Utzum, an Andalite myth about something helping you carry on past life or something. And Tobias sees Elfangor and later when he talks to Ax about it Ax says it's genetic and is passed down through DNA. When I read this a few years ago, I was wondering how that was possible when the only Andalite DNA Tobias has in him came from acquiring Ax earlier on in the book. I later dropped that idea...

Upon re-reading the series now, when all five kids get their morphing powers, Jake describes them all running away except for Tobias, who stays behind for a few seconds and then acts like he just got shocked... maybe this was Elfangor transferring the Andalite memories or whatever into Tobias' DNA? Maybe this caused the Utzum? Though in The Andalite Chronicles Elfangor doesn't really say about transferring anything to Tobias, although maybe KA hadn't though of Utzum at that point.

SO... what do you RAFians all think?  ;D

I think Elfangor gave Tobias memories that would be activated when he is close to death.

Well, yeah, that's what I'm saying.
That's the whole Utzum thing.
